Evolution: From Little Devil to Devil Empress

Chapter 263: Battle

Chapter 263: Battle

In fact, the audience’s thoughts were not wrong.

Just as Liora suspected, the Violence Lord had already guessed that she was the one responsible for the earlier attack on the arena.

As a person who had reached the True Devil stage, Violence Lord was not stupid.

How could a group of Lesser Devils suddenly have the confidence to take action within the bounds of the Demon Colosseum?

Most importantly, what were the chances that something like this would happen in the presence of another True Devil?

Judging from the above, he had already guessed that Liora was here to cause trouble for him. Though he didn’t know the reason, he knew that it was the case.

This was the reason why he had chosen to give in earlier, unwilling to clash with an unknown opponent unless necessary.

But since things had come down to this, this was no longer an option.

The audience had already heard Liora’s words, telling him that she wanted to kill his subordinates to search for the true culprit.

If he didn’t take action and allowed her to do as she wished, his reputation would be ruined.

Most importantly, the Violence Lord could sense several gazes coming from deep within Bloodflower City.

Although their owners did not show up, Violence Lord could recognize them.

They were the other True Devils in the city.

Some people’s gazes held malice towards him, while others held faint goodwill, being his enemies and allies, respectively.

But regardless of their relationship with him, none of them stepped forward to help him.

“Hmph! Do they wish to use me to test this woman’s strength?”, he snorted inwardly, understanding their thoughts.

In fact, if he were in their shoes, he would have done the same. But now that it had happened to him, it was only natural that he would be angry.

“Just wait! Once I’ve taken a step further and advanced, I will make sure to resolve this grudge!”

Liora did not know the thoughts going through Violence Lord’s mind.

She only saw him think deeply for a brief moment, and getting angrier, before becoming indifferent and staring at her.

“Let’s fight outside the city. I want to see what gives you the confidence to come and provoke me.”, the Violence Lord said before his figure flashed away, disappearing into the distance.

Liora did not stop him.

Though she would very much like to fight in the Demon Colosseum and ruin the other guy’s business, she knew very well that she would not be allowed.

She had also sensed the several True Devils watching their confrontation, and understood that they would not let her destroy the city.

“Moreover, there is also a Greater Devil hidden.”

“If anything were to happen in Bloodflower City, they would surely emerge and fight with me, even if they have to pay a price to do so.”

Thinking of this, Liora knew that she had no other choice.

She waved her hand and wrapped Alpha with her demonic energy before placing her in the Space Orb, and then also left the city, chasing after the Violence Lord.

Only the audience members were left in the arena, some elated and others disappointed.

“Damn it! I thought that I would finally be able to see the battle between two True Devils today!”, a Lesser Devil muttered as he watched them leave with regret.

The Devil’s companions immediately stepped back and cast looks of pity at him before exchanging a glance with each other.

Though they didn’t speak, they had already decided to never involve themselves with this guy ever again.

Otherwise, judging from his stupidity, there would come a time when they would not know how they died.

On the other side, Liora and the Violence Lord did not fly for long. The only reason they left the city was to prevent the aftermath of their battle from destroying it.

Once they reached a place that was far enough to achieve this, they both stopped in their tracks.

“I don’t know what your purpose is. But you should know that without strength, such tricks are meaningless. Why don’t we both take a step back?”

“You should have noticed those guys looking at us. If we’re injured, they might take advantage of our state and attack us.”, Violence Lord spoke.

The earlier anger had disappeared from his face, replaced by indifference, as if everything had been an act.

Hearing his words, Liora would, of course, not agree.

She didn’t respond, merely shaking her head in refusal.

Seeing her silence, Violence Lord knew that there was no reason to speak any further.

He no longer hesitated. As a True Devil, he had climbed out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.

He was merely unwilling to fight for no reason, not really scared of his opponent.

With that in mind, he moved.

His body turned into an afterimage before appearing beside Liora, his gigantic body casting a shadow over her.

His right hand clenched into a fist, and he punched downwards, aiming to smash her like an ant.

Facing this attack, Liora’s expression remained the same.

Still, she couldn’t help but sigh inwardly.

“No wonder they call you Violence Lord. Other True Devils would test each other for a bit to test their opponent’s strength. Yet, here you are, rushing forward recklessly…”

Although many thoughts were racing through her mind, Liora did not stay still and take the attack head-on.

She also did not cast any of her abilities, instead choosing to raise her hand and punch back.

If it were before, Liora would not have the confidence to do so.

After all, it was obvious that the Violence Lord was a rare Devil whose race was geared towards close-quarters, physical combat.

However, having practiced both the Four Elements Method and the World Devourer Method filled Liora with confidence.

Coupled with the Myriad Devils Body operating constantly and empowering her further, Liora had the confidence to contend against other True Devils solely based on her body.
