The Martial Unity

Chapter 3547: Emotive Attacker

Chapter 3547: Emotive Attacker

Negatron matter held a special significance for Chairman Bradt.

“If I combine negatron wormhole technology with my mastery of supply and distribution… I can become the ruler of the transport and delivery industry once more.”

The ability to create wormholes and bypass a tremendous distance with it was absolutely revolutionary to him and everything he had worked on for his entire life.

“Truly, you have been a source of unending blessings ever since we met, Voider.”

His aged voice contained a hint of nostalgia as he recalled the Shionel Dungeon and the first time that he had met Rui Quarrier. Back then, Rui had simply been a Martial Squire who used a creative method to dominate the Shionel Dungeon Wars.

He had helped Bradt win his election and retain power. Since then, they had interacted many times and engaged in many transactions, whether it was with Rui’s brief bid for the Kandrian Empire or for the spread of the Water Sect.

He had become a gift that kept giving for Patrick Bradt.

The same was true for the negatron mines. It was a boon and a miracle for the chairman, and it was only possible because Rui chose to fight the Dragon Emperor at the very bottom of the ocean floor.

“I look forward to what he will become.”

RUMBLE

His moment of thoughtful nostalgia and anticipation was interrupted by tremors that spread through the submarine he was in as alarms and sirens began blaring across the entire mining ship. The many naval helmsman controlling the submarine began furiously acting on the alert, doing their best to fulfill their role perfectly.

“Emergency alert! Submarine is under attack!”

“We have confirmed a sonic blast emerging from thousands of kilometers away!”

“A distant siege has been mounted on our submarine!”

“Put up the energy shields,” he commanded them. “Ensure that emergency defensive protocol is followed.”

“Sir! We have just got a confirmation on the transgressor!”

The man grimly displayed a distant image acquired by radar and other energy signatures correlated with their intelligence database.

The match was clear.

“The tekvores…” Chairman Bradt’s tone was grave.

“Sir, we have received a transmission from the enemy tekvore fleet!”

“Display it.” Chairman Bradt commanded.

“But sir… it’s…” the woman hesitated.

“Just show me what the enemy is saying.” He commanded.

She displayed the message on the giant screen for everybody to see.

[(ง︡’-’︠)ง]

Chairman Bradt stared at the screen with a dumbfounded expression. “…What?”

BOOOM!

A second sonic blast struck the submarine, ravaging its energy shield with a violent hit.

RUMBLE

The submarine quivered under the impact.

They received another transmission.

[(≖᷆︵︣≖)👎]

BOOOM!

[t(>.<t)]

BOOOM!

[(҂◡̀_◡́)ᕤ]

BOOOM!

[ᕙ( ︡’︡益’︠)ง]

Even as the attacks on their submarine continued mounting, the transmission of the strange stream of characters vaguely forming an emote continued flowing. Under the situation, Chairman Bradt could only grit his teeth and focus on more important matters rather than the unserious transmissions their enemy was making.

“What…” He clenched his fist. “How did they get so close to us without us noticing them?!”

BZZZT!

The screen glitched as text spontaneously appeared on the screen.

[Your technology is primitive, that’s why.]

His eyes widened with shock.

[You rely too much on the magic of exotic matter. You are no match for us without that advantage.]

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!

The siege of attacks from a great distance continued as a fleet of tekvores drew closer and closer, blasting a series of attacks against the submarine, threatening to destroy the entire vessel.

Within the depths of the ocean, environmental attacks could be launched from a much, much greater distance away due to the conductivity and elasticity of water as a medium compared to heaven or earth. All Pathwalkers who had any familiarity with water had a much greater range of attack.

This gave a much greater opportunity for conflict and clashes despite the fact that the Great Void Ocean was so utterly massive.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!

The intensity of the attacks continued rising as the submarine sustained a tremendous amount of damage. Its hull began suffering deep dents while its energy shield struggled to withstand the impacts. The many components and systems within the submarine began suffering dearly from the series of attacks that ravaged the vessel.

The blaring sirens and alarms began ringing loudly as the command bridge shook with the rest of the submarine quite violently, leaving Chairman Bradt in a grim state of mind.

“Sir, we have reinforcements!”

The Martial Artists of the Marinaera Kingdom appeared in front of the vessel, dispelling all the sonic attacks that ravaged it. The Waterweaver, standing at their very front, gritted his teeth as he gazed at the tekvores who drew closer.

Their bodies were different from what he had seen, likely because they had undergone some technological changes to suit their new environment.

Instinctively, he sensed something was wrong, nonetheless.

He had fought many of them when defending the Esocline Federation from their assault at sea, taking down many of them with his bare hands. They had always felt strange, given that most of their bodies were technology, save for the brain.

This time, however, they felt especially eerie in a markedly different way.

Their body language was devoid of humanity. Not that they were human, but the subconscious micro-expressions that were, in many ways, an expression of who they were had been completely erased.

On top of that, he could sense their mind with his mind sense.

“Pain…” A dark mutter escaped him even as they drew closer.

Not just pain.

“Despair and misery, too.” He clenched his fists. “What the hell has happened to them?”

Their movements were robotic, almost as if they had become automatons despite the fact that he could clearly sense their minds. On top of that, their strange emotions, considering that they were launching an attack, were even more disturbing.

It told him that something was deeply wrong.

“Who…” he subconsciously asked them as they drew closer. “Who are you…?”

He asked that question as if he were talking to one person.

And instinctively, he knew he was.

Their movements were too identical for that, as if they were two copies of the same product, programmed exactly the same way.

[You Martial Artists are more astute than I suspected. (ᵕ•_•)]

The text was displayed midair in a projection.

[But alas, your doom is sealed nonetheless.]

RUMBLE

The Waterweaver’s eyes widened as an army of tekvores emerged from within the depths of the ocean, bypassing his senses entirely.

[Attack. ৻( •̀ ᗜ •́ ৻)]

RUMBLE!!!!!

The Martial Artists gritted their teeth as the tekvores unleashed a destructive onslaught upon them, threatening to overwhelm them in the blink of an eye.
