“The City Lord want to thank you for helping clean up the bandits” she said calmly. “And apparently… it was your puppet work. ”
Hearing this, Li Feng blinked, then chuckled as he finally remember something like that did happened.

He turned to the young clerk.
” Ask that person to come in.”
The clerk nodded quickly and hurried away.

” For now, in public, let’s remain as business partners.” he said casually.
” I’ll be the alchemist working for you, while you remain the matriarch of the Wei family.”
Hearing her master’s word, Wei Meilin just nodded obediently.
She didn’t know what he was planning but she followed his instructions without question.

Outside, a handsome middle-aged man with a neatly trimmed black beard stood downstairs waiting for the young clerk to return.
