Chapter 508: Progressing By Leaps & Bounds in the Aether Cultivation
Aksai’s subconscious was being pulled and dissolved into the waves.
He tried to stay awake, to stay whole—but the sea dragged at him like a thousand hands.
Meanwhile, back at the Enchanted Everwood Farm, Aksai’s real body jerked.
“Aaaaargh!”
He let out a loud scream that echoed across the open fields.
His face turned red, veins showing under his skin, and his eyes darkened into an eerie shade of green.
Aether runes, glowing and alive, began crawling over his bare chest, arms, and neck like tiny creatures made of light.
Lini, who had been nearby, rushed to him the moment she heard the scream.
“Aksai, what… what is happening to you?” she cried out, dropping to her knees beside him.
She wanted to comfort him. Her hands reached for his shoulders, shaking him slightly. But before she could do more, a gentle hand stopped her.
It was Yelia.
She smiled softly, her eyes calm and full of knowing.
“Don’t worry,” she said. “Nothing scary is happening to him. My liege is advancing in his Aether path. A bit of pain is natural. He is not in any form of danger—he’s evolving.”
Lini looked worried, still not convinced.
“But—” she began to protest.
Before she could say more, a shockwave burst from Aksai’s body.
Swoosh. Zoom. Kiiiiiin.
It wasn’t loud or violent, but it was filled with such psychic force that Lini’s eyes rolled back, and she collapsed where she sat.
Yelia didn’t flinch. She raised her hand, and Aksai’s body floated into the air.
He lay as if asleep, arms resting at his sides, his breathing soft but steady. His eyes were closed, but even behind the lids, something glowed.
If one were to open his eyelids, they would see countless Aether runes wriggling across his eyeballs like rivers of light, flowing with meaning too deep for words.
Aksai was no longer just a Qi or Spirit cultivator with a bit of knowledge in Aether Essence. He was advancing by leaps and bounds in Aether cultivation, becoming a true Aether practitioner not so different from the denizens of Acarnis.
And he was doing it at a speed so fast, even the most gifted Aether practitioners from Acarnis would find it hard to believe.
Inside the boundless sea of Aksai’s soul space, the Aether Shell sank deep, pulling in the dormant Aether Essence around it like a starving beast. It drank the water-like essence at a crazy speed.
Aksai could vaguely sense that the endless sea inside his soul had dropped slightly in level. That small change was enough to warn him—this ritual was far from normal.
Inside the Soul Space, glowing Aether runes began to rise from the surface of the sea. They floated upward like drifting fireflies. The runes even etched themselves into the sky above, turning it into a canvas full of light and motion.
Aksai felt as if he was being stretched—mind, memory, and soul—all being peeled apart and reshaped.
The Aether Shell had become more than just a vessel. It was now his soul’s choice. Instead of forming a natural Aether Wisp, his soul had chosen this strange, modified shell—one that held the demon beast’s soul inside.
Suddenly, he saw things that weren’t his.
He was trying to run through an untamed forest but for some reason he felt slow. As if he was not used to the kind of speed he was used to during normal run. It took him a while to realize that he was “running” on his four limbs.
He later learned the Spirit essence harnessing through his bloodline memories. Spirit spells helped him get rid of his natural weaknesses as a mortal beast, enabling him to run like a normal beast using his own four limbs. Although he wasn’t the fastest beast in the forest, he was way too abnormal for his peers.
He grew up as a turtle-type demon beast. His Spirit cultivation deepened along with his growth. Soon, he began hunting his prey.
His beastly claws tore through the ground as he chased prey. He was growling, fighting, roaring at the sky, challenging it. The trees were taller than towers, and the sky was always hidden behind the green leaves.
Of course, at this point, he was no longer Aksai—he was the demon beast. And these were the beast’s memories. Aksai lived through them.
He felt the thrill of the hunt, the loneliness of endless years, the pain of betrayal. He felt fear, pride, and rage. These memories were not just images—they were lived, experienced fully. They weren’t simply shown to him. He was required to absorb them.
But with every memory that settled inside him, his mind began to shift. He grew used to the sensation. The sea inside him calmed slightly. He could feel something form—something take shape.
The Aether Wisp.
Aksai had entered the early stage of the Wisp Awakening realm before this ritual began. But now, he felt a sharp leap forward.
As he made a strong mental link with the demon beast through the Aether Shell, his control deepened. He passed the early stage without noticing.

In just a few moments, his sense of connection grew stronger. The demon beast was no longer just a captured soul—it was becoming a part of him.

The middle stage of Wisp Awakening came and went. Soon, he reached the late stage, gaining more control over the beast that was now his Aether Wisp.
He could call upon it. He could command it.
Then came the next big jump.
Aksai’s soul trembled, and the sea shook again. The Aether runes brightened, and a strange pulse passed through the sky inside the Mind Palace.
In that moment, Aksai felt himself break through into the second realm—Wisp Blooming.
