Chapter 2081: 612: Creation Crystal (Part 2)
Chapter 2081: Chapter 612: Creation Crystal (Part 2)
At the bottom of the crystal ball was a withered, white giant hand.
The giant hand was riddled with scars, a sight that was both shocking and horrifying.
Most of it was covered by the magnificent Ten-Day Heavenly Net, with only a small joint extended outside!
The crystal ball was sitting atop that joint.
…
Warning: You have discovered O’Blair’s Creation Crystal.
Inside the Creation Crystal, you may have your primary consciousness altered and ultimately become Captain O’Blair’s puppet.
…
Leave!
Leave immediately!
A strong thought surged in Matthew’s heart.
Accompanied by several other thoughts.
His body seemed to become incredibly light, starting to fly away from the crystal ball into the high heavens.
The next second.
A black vortex suddenly appeared at the bottom of the crystal ball.
A powerful suction emerged from the vortex’s center.
Instantly, it anchored Matthew in place!
Pain surged through his entire body, as if he were about to be torn apart!
The captain’s voice came from within the vortex, still as gentle and kind:
“You were right, I truly can’t pull all of your soul down here, what you just saw was an act.”
“I’m surprised that you could summon and recover your primary consciousness so quickly.”
“The qualities you display are not like a rookie entering the legendary realm but rather an old monster.”
Matthew snorted coldly:
“At this point, using the Heart Attack Technique is meaningless, isn’t it?”
“I’m sorry, Captain, but our conversation ends here, I’m leaving now…”
The captain chuckled softly:
“Do you really think I’ve become too weak to do anything?”
“As long as I wish, I can keep you here with me forever.”
“Your primary consciousness is indeed recovering, but I can slow down that recovery by ten thousand times.”
“By the time you truly return to the material world, you’ll find that three to five years, or even a decade, have already passed…”
“What do you think might happen during that time?”
“For beings like you mortals, a decade’s passage of time could witness monumental changes, wouldn’t you agree?”
“Moreover, I’ve heard that you’re about to partake in the power struggle for a planet’s governance—losing that planet wouldn’t be good news for you, would it?”
As he spoke.
The vortex’s pull grew even stronger.
The pain Matthew sensed multiplied several times, simultaneously he could clearly feel the recovery of his primary soul slowing considerably.
But his gaze remained sharp:
“If your purpose is merely to waste time with me, then I’m willing to accompany you to the end.”
The captain slowed down:
“Of course not.”
“I can release you immediately.”
“Provided you accept a small portion of my strength, even just a little, we can negotiate.”
Matthew resolutely replied:
“There’s no negotiation!”
The captain’s tone grew cold:
“Are you certain?”
“Losing Storluk may completely alter your fate!”
“I can tell you, that planet’s significance is much greater than you imagine, having it might allow you to struggle a bit.”
“But losing Storluk, you’re destined to become the vessel for the Sun God’s resurrection!”
How could Matthew care about the hidden hints within the captain’s words?
Despite enduring overwhelming pain.
His mental consciousness instead completely relaxed:
“I will never compromise.”
He was already mentally prepared to have the captain waste a lot of time here.
Strangely enough.
As Matthew’s mindset relaxed.
The intense tearing pain also reduced by a hundredfold, although still painful, it seemed to be more bearable.
The captain remained silent.
After a while.
He sighed softly:
“More than a year has passed in the material world.”
“If you compromise now, I can still think of a way to remedy.”
Matthew laughed:
“Remedy what?”
“You know my top priority is the defense of Storluk, and since I’ve already missed it, the subsequent time lacks much value for me.”
“You cannot use that as a bargaining chip to negotiate with me.”
The captain lamented:
“Indeed, the Heirs of Heavenly Calamity are never easily deceived.”
He shifted his tone:
“Help me find that secret room.”
“I can forgive you for not accepting my strength.”
Yet Matthew remained utterly conscious.
He immediately mocked:
“You wasted a year of my time, causing me immeasurable losses, and still think of negotiating with me using outdated chips?”
The captain sneered:
“Then I can waste even more of your time.”
Matthew lazily said:
“Doesn’t matter.”
“Please continue to waste it.”
“If you want to negotiate, it’s best to show some sincerity. After all, your real purpose is probably neither to find the secret room nor to make me accept your Strength, but is it about ‘me’ myself?”
The captain couldn’t help but click his tongue:
“You’re too smart.”
Matthew shook his head and said:
“It’s because you showed it too clearly.”
“As a Twilight Creature with a mind close to a demon, all your tones, sighs, exclamations, sarcasms, sneers… are just decorations.”
“You know the power of the calamity better than anyone, so of course, you wouldn’t underestimate the Heir of Heavenly Calamity. That phrase ‘The Heir of Heavenly Calamity, indeed, none are easy to fool’ was too extravagant…”
“I have a feeling you’re letting me see through you on purpose — or rather, you simply don’t care if I do, all you want is to establish some kind of connection with me…”
“This connection could be a commission agreement, injecting Strength, or emotions of hatred and fear — what you care about is merely the depth and breadth of our interaction. Though I am not the only one, I suppose there is indeed something special about me for reasons like these, it’s why you ancient creatures have focused your attention on me, am I right?”
Clap, clap, clap.
The vortex stopped.
The Space Essence jumped out from inside, applauding as he walked towards Matthew:
“Absolutely right.”
“Brilliant.”
“Can I ask how you deduced all this?”
Matthew glanced at the data panel.
Looking at the continuously blinking inscriptions and the highlighted Seven Saints Inheritance title, he responded calmly:
“Just some basic reasoning.”
“Nothing worth mentioning.”
The captain raised an eyebrow:
“Alright then.”
“In that case, there’s no need to waste any more of each other’s time, let’s conduct the final negotiations —
You don’t need to do anything, but you must allow me to become your friend…”
He seemed to want to explain something.
Yet Matthew had already agreed:
“Alright.”
“State your conditions.”
The captain smiled and said:
“I’ll try to make up some of the time lost.”
Matthew shook his head and said:
“That’s what you should do.”
“Not enough.”
The captain added:
“For the remaining time, I can make it into a Mystical Item for you, plus that big fish just now.”
Matthew continued shaking his head:
“Still not enough.”
The captain was not angry, he looked at Matthew:
“What do you want?”
Matthew thought for a moment:
“Add one more thing, the weaknesses or secrets of the other twelve Twilight Creatures besides you.”
The captain straightforwardly said:
“No problem.”
“In addition to that, I can also give you a backdoor command to control them, but keep in mind, once activated, they must destroy something. After all, Twilight Creatures are essentially ultimate weapons of destruction.”
Matthew’s eyes flashed.
His face appeared full of joy on the surface.
But inwardly, he warned himself not to use this backdoor command unless absolutely necessary.
There’s a 90% chance something is wrong with it!
But regardless, the atmosphere of the talks became harmonious once more.
The captain provided information about the Twilight Creatures.
Matthew also agreed to help find the secret chamber of the Sun God.
A moment later.
As Matthew was about to leave.
He suddenly asked:
“How did the other Heirs of Heavenly Calamity react to your bluffing?”
The captain calmly said:
“Not much different from you, very few were willing to compromise.”
“Most of them I reached verbal agreements with, and I gave them some benefits and information, but the majority turned their backs right after leaving.”
“Only one person was an exception; he actually fulfilled his promise…”
Matthew asked:
“Who was that?”
“And what was his promise?”
The captain said:
“Edmond.”
“His promise was to bring me a limitless potential kid in the future…”
Matthew’s face instantly turned black.
