Chapter 1774 Gathering Of Experts
1774 Gathering Of Experts
Lucas took a glance at Sir Astarot, he didn't know what intentions Sir Astarot had, but he knew that it wouldn't hurt Grey. Grey's performance seems to have piqued its interest.
Seeing Lucas' inquisitive gaze and Grey's hesitation, Sir Astarot chuckled and said, "Your life will be in no danger. In truth, you'll gain some benefits after our discussion."
Hearing this, Lucas' eyes lit up. From Sir Astarot's words, he could tell that it was about to offer Grey a massive opportunity. This isn't something casual. Sir Astarot is a living entity that is thousands of years old, so it had a lot of good things. Taking an interest in Grey and even taking the initiative to want to assist him is no different from a heaven-sent opportunity being dropped on Grey's lap. Before Grey could reply, Lucas hurriedly bowed, "If that's the case, I'll have to thank you in advance on behalf of my son."
Grey hurriedly bowed just like his father in Sir Astarot's direction. He didn't know why Sir Astarot gave him an odd look before telling him to stay with him after the meeting was concluded, but he couldn't help but feel like there was something else in this. If his father hadn't agreed to this already, he would've opted to reject it and leave with his father. However, his father had agreed, and since Sir Astarot promised him only benefits, he could only push the feeling away and look forward to the benefits promised by Sir Astarot.
"Since we are done here, we should head out to the next Clan. We still have three more Clans to visit around this region." Sir Astarot spoke and took the lead. With a flap of its large wings, its large figure shot out like a bolt of lightning. This time, it didn't bother to try to assist Grey. Since Lucas is present now, then he should deal with it.
Lucas wrapped Grey up with his essence and shot after Sir Astarot, behind the old man from the Vaergahl Family. Lucas quickly caught up to Sir Astarot as they continued the mission.
A few days went by in a flash.
During this period, Grey had been accompanying his father, the old man from the Vaergahl Family, as well as Sir Astarot to invite the various Clan Leaders in the Inner Court for the meeting. These Clan Leaders in the Inner Court all had subsidiary clans all around the Magical Beast's Forest. With the size of the Magical Beast's Forest, it's not an exaggeration to say that each Magical Beast clan had tens of millions of clansmen including the subsidiary clans under them. With the exception of Dragons and a few others that had difficulties reproducing.
During the entire journey, Grey was left speechless by the number of Magical Beasts present in the Inner Court. Even Magical Beasts he thought were extinct were present here. The Toad Clan Leader wasn't the only Magical Beasts forced to submit during this time. The Leader of a Snow Leopard Clan refused to this and even wanted to fight them right there and then. Sir Astarot intervened and under the coercion of Lucas and the old man from the Vaergahl Family, as well as Sir Astarot's willingness to work with the humans, it also submitted.
Like the Toad Clan Leader, Lucas naturally didn't trust it and brought up the same suggestion once again. The Snow Leopard Clan Leader was furious and even attacked Lucas, but after seeing how easily Lucas was able to dispel its attack, as well as the threat of losing its life, it finally gave in through gritted teeth.
During each of these encounters, Lucas always made sure that the soul brands were handed to Sir Astarot, that way, they didn't have to fear being controlled by humans or getting killed after the war was done with.
The next encounter was a little trickier than the previous two. During this encounter, the Magical Beast vehemently rejects the plan to fight alongside humans. It was not even a Half God Plane expert, its strength being merely equivalent to a Peak Sovereign. Its thought process was that with Sir Astarot present as well as being in the Inner Court, they wouldn't dare to offend it.
At the time of this encounter, the news of the group traveling across the Inner Court to invite other Clan Leaders had already spread across the Inner Court, so this Magical Beast acting like this even when it knew that other Magical Beast's Clan Leaders had already agreed was shocking.
To the shock of everyone present, the Magical Beast was smacked to death by none other than Sir Astarot. It didn't even look at it as it pointed at a random Elder among this Magical Beast's Clan Leader's entourage, telling it to return back and bring either the heir to the position of the Clan Leader or the person who could make decisions.
The Elder was still frightened by the sight before it, so when it heard Sir Astarot's words, it didn't react quickly, and only after being yelled at by Sir Astarot, did it rush back to bring the Clan Grand Elder, who was a Half God Plane expert. It didn't even take a glance at the corpse of the dead Clan Leader and readily agreed to attend the meeting.
Other than these three encounters, the group didn't encounter anything worthwhile during the trip.
The day of the meeting soon came. Like before, Grey accompanied his father. He didn't want to miss this meeting. This was a chance for him to see so many Magical Beast experts gathered in one place. Not only that, but with the different Magical Beasts present, Void even made an appearance.
When Grey followed Lucas into the large cave that was being used for the meeting, he quickly drew the attention of everyone present. They've all seen him before, but what captured their eyes was the small black cat that was currently resting on his shoulder. Each of these experts' eyes flashed with a strange light.
