Chapter 1908: You Could Have Lived Longer
Chapter 1908: You Could Have Lived Longer
“You’re Grey Dawson, interesting.” The Gnome with red robes mentioned while rubbing his chin before adding, “No wonder you were able to sneak in without me noticing, I heard you were a genius in terms of array formations and is even an Inscriber, looks like the rumors were true.”
Knowing the Gnomes wanted him dead, they would have most likely done their research on him. Being the son of the famous Lucas Dawson, and being a once in a lifetime genius himself would naturally put him in the radar of a lot of people, so getting information about him was not too difficult. He believed the only reason he did not face too many assassination attempts is due to him almost always moving around.
Grey barely stays in one place for too long, even when he had not known his father was from the famous Dawson Family, he still barely hung around in the Pyrmond Faction, going from one expedition to another. Most of his trips were alone, so his whereabouts are usually unknown. There was no way to get this information from his friends since even they are not aware of his whereabouts unless they were with him.
Grey could tell the Gnomes wanted to talk, and since he was in no hurry to fight with them, he did not mind delaying them until Klaus and Alice were done with the weaker Gnomes.
“You were the one who set up those formations?” He looked at the Gnome in red robes, noticing the crystal orb in his hand, he pointed at it and asked, “Oh, that looks interesting, how did you make it?”
The Gnome in red robes was about to explain when one of the Gnomes in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane snorted coldly, “Can’t you see that he’s trying to delay us?”
The Gnome in red robes gave an embarrassed smile before moving to the back. He was not as strong as this Gnome, in fact, if not for his abilities as an Arraymaster, he would not even be here in the first place.
Grey did not concern himself with the fact that the Gnome saw through his intentions, shrugging, he looked at Reynolds and asked, “Ready?”
Reynolds nodded before his figure was covered in lightning armor.
Grey has always been fascinated by Reynolds’s merged state. He had never heard of any high grade summoner being able to merge with their Elemental Warriors. Thinking about it, Reynolds might be levels above other high grade summoners as he was the first to ever have such an anomaly.
The Gnomes was shocked when they saw Reynolds’s state, and one of them in the Third stage of the Sovereign Plane brought out his Puppet, sending it out to attack.
Grey did not make a move, taking a step back as he kept his eyes on everyone present.
Just as the Puppet was about to close in on them, Reynolds made a move. With a long sword made of lightning in his hand, he slashed at the Puppet, cutting it in two. Reynolds was strong enough to fight an Eighth stage Sovereign in his current state, so a Puppet that isn’t even as strong as a Fifth stage Sovereign could never take an attack from him. The slash from the long sword did not stop after cutting the Puppet in half, rather, it continued forward towards the Gnome in the Third stage.
An Eighth stage Gnome moved at the moment the lightning slash was about to hit the Gnome who did not even have the chance to react. The Eighth stage Gnome blocked the attack with his palm, snorting coldly.
‘So strong.’
Although the Gnome did not show it, he was shocked by the strength of Reynolds’s attack. Even though he could tell that Reynolds was powerful, he did not expect his attack, after already losing part of its power to still be enough to make him feel some pain.
“Kill them. They are trying to stall for help.” The Gnome did not want to take any chances, charging at Reynolds.
Reynolds was already prepared, meeting the Gnome’s attack with an attack of his own.
The other two Gnomes in the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane charged forward, none of them taking out their Puppets. The reason Grey Dawson is so famous in the Gnome World is due to his ability to cut off their connections to their Puppets. Forcibly cutting their link to their Puppets would destabilize their thought process, making them freeze for a quarter of a second or so. In a battle involving experts of their level, even a millisecond of hesitation is enough to end their lives, so they did not want to take that chance.
Grey blocked the path of the two Eighth stage Gnomes, calmly staring at them with his emotionless eyes, “If you had stayed in your world, you would have at least had the chance to live longer.”
The two Gnomes did not reply, each sending out their strongest attacks.
A smirk appeared on Grey’s face as his eyes turned bloodthirsty, “Now all of you will die!”
His figure blinked, creating a strange scene. Rather than disappearing as usual, his frame, which is bigger than that of a Gnome, suddenly shrunk to the size of a Gnome.
A shrill scream came as soon as the attacks landed on the figure. The scream did not even last more than a second before fading. At the same time, two horror-filled shrieks came from the side.
When the two Eighth stage Gnomes looked in the direction of the scream, they saw two charred figures lying on the ground as the stench of burnt flesh spread all over.
“Huh?!” The duo exclaimed, confusion plastered on their faces. They just attacked Grey, so how did two of their people in the Fifth stage of the Sovereign Plane end up getting burnt to death in a matter of a second or so.
“Impossible!” A surprised exclamation came from the side, and turning around, they saw Grey looking coldly at a Sixth stage Sovereign, punching forward with brute force.
