Chapter 1938: Strange Space Fluctuations
Chapter 1938: Strange Space Fluctuations
The increase of Gnomes in the Azure Continent made most of the Cities vacant as most people were moving toward Red City. Red City became the gathering ground for the top experts coming to this area from the Aurora Continent.
Even though the Gnomes attacking were not Half God Plane Gnomes, their sheer numbers and the Azure Continents locals inability to fight against them made it very easy for them to sweep most of the Cities with ease, capturing hundreds of thousands of people in the space of only two months or so. The efforts of Grey’s group and other groups like his own were able to curb the rampant display of the Gnomes, only for a limited time. The Azure Continent might not be as big as the Aurora Continent, but it was still millions of kilometers wide, making it impossible for them to cover all areas.
When Grey’s group and the others groups set out, the Gnomes suddenly reduced their actions, only stepping out in regions they knew they would not encounter any struggles.
The more time passed by, the more Gnomes gathered in the Azure Continent. There were not as many portals to the Gnome World in the Azure Continent, yet the Gnomes were trooping into it in large numbers when they knew the number of experts present in this Continent was not as many as the Aurora Continent.
….
Somewhere in the Azure Continent.
Grey squeezed an orb in his hand, causing it to break apart. As soon as the orb broke apart, an explosion occurred about a hundred meters away from where he was standing.
‘Hmm, there’s still a slight delay.’ A thoughtful expression appeared on his face as he flew over to the place of the explosion, looking at the impact, he frowned.
While he was inspecting the outcome of the explosion, he made mental notes of what he thought could be improved in his new discovery. During the process of studying the crystal orb he obtained from the Gnomes, he came up with an orb that could act as a detonator for another orb that he infused with a little hint of two elements. He wanted to see if he could create a type of storage for his fusion orbs so he could produce them in large numbers and be able to use them in battles.
Since leaving Red City three weeks ago, they had already been to six Gnomes encampments, fighting brutal and violent battles. Of the six encampments, only two of them had people strong enough to threaten the group and Grey realized he needed more firepower. Yes, he could use fusion orbs if he wanted during a fight. Unfortunately, he could only instantly make a three or four element fusion orb. Being such a powerful skill, he hoped he would be able to distribute the crystal orbs once he was done making them.
Making the crystals were pretty easy, all he needed was to create a strong ice orb, infusing it with multiple arrays to make it stay for longer periods. Once he could get a mine where he could get true crystals, he was sure the effect of the explosions would be stronger.
As Grey was focused on improving his new technique, his friends did not lazy around either. They were each trying to improve their strengths, especially Alice and Reynolds. Grey was already an Eighth stage Sovereign, and knowing Klaus, they knew he was not far behind. It has only been a few weeks or so since they broke through to the Seventh stage and knew there was no way they could make any significant improvements to their cultivation without affecting their foundations, since that was the case, Alice focused on training with her Seelie to make it stronger. Reynolds seemed to have learned some things from the man named Lewis as he was able to use his Elemental Warrior in different ways now compared to before.
Klaus and Void were the only ones who seemed like they were not serious with their cultivation. It could not be helped though, Klaus had this amazing luck that always makes it easier for him to acquire treasures that would coincidentally not affect his foundation while improving his strength. This was one of the reasons Klaus has been able to cultivate faster than Reynolds and Alice even though during the days Grey first knew them, he was weaker in both cultivation and talent. What Klaus lacked in talent, he made up for it with unbelievable luck. Even his friends occasionally look at him with envy just from how heaven-defying his luck was. Void on the other hand did not even have to bother with cultivating, all he did was sleep and advance in his cultivation.
Klaus and Void went over to check on Grey after sensing the explosion.
“Still not working well?” Klaus asked when he noticed Grey’s furrowed brows.
Grey nodded and explained, “It takes too long before it goes off, and the impact should not be this large. It’s wasting most of its power…”
Klaus’ eyes twitched as he realized he had asked a question he should not have. First off, he was completely clueless about what Grey was saying or even doing, so everything Grey was saying to him sounded like gibberish, only understanding a handful of words from Grey’s almost five minutes long speech. Secondly, he knew now that he asked, Grey would speak about this with him for a long time. Sighing in defeat, he would occasionally nod at Grey’s words, while occasionally saying ‘I see’ and ‘That should help out’.
After spending about thirty minutes discussing with Klaus, Grey found new inspirations and felt he should be able to succeed with his next test. He was just about to start when a powerful shockwave blew in their direction from the east.
Grey turned to look towards the direction of the shockwave with a puzzled look, he did not sense any Gnomes or Necromancers close by, so he could not understand what could cause such a devastating shockwave.
Alice and Reynolds rushed over to meet the duo, both alerted by the shockwave.
“Should we check it out?” Alice took a glance at Grey as he asked. His ability to sense Gnomes made it his decision if they should go anywhere or not.
Grey shook his head, saying with some skepticism, “I can’t sense the aura of any Gnome or Necromancer. ”
The group let out an ‘Oh’ when they heard this as they knew there were only two reasons Grey could not sense the presence of either Necromancers or Gnomes; there were either none around, or those around were above his strength.
If there were no Gnomes or Necromancers, then they would surely investigate the cause of the shockwave. However, if they were to head there and the Gnomes or Necromancers present were Half God Plane experts, then they were as good as dead. Moreover, there were some Peak Gnomes that Grey could not sense as well, facing two of those would be catastrophic for the group.
Grey kept silent for some time, before Klaus suggested the Bunny Leader sent out some of his scouts ahead to help them scout what happened. This was also what Grey was thinking, calling the Bunny Leader, he informed him of the reason he called him.
‘Space fluctuations?’
Grey was taken aback when he heard these words from the Bunny Leader who did not even send anyone out before he told Grey what could have happened.
‘Yes, it’s very faint, focus you should sense it.’
Grey followed the Bunny Leader’s instructions, and it was just as the Bunny Leader said, accompanying the shockwave was a bit of space fluctuations. Only a massive explosion made with the space element could cause such effects.
Void also told Grey about it while he was speaking with the Bunny Leader.
“It’s still safer for us if you send one of your Bunnies to help us scout the area.” Grey did not want to take any chances. Yes, this might be caused by something other than Gnomes and Necromancers, there was no harm in being overly cautious.
The Bunny Leader did not have any problems with Grey’s worries, opting to go himself since he would he faster. This was a shockwave that had space fluctuations and being a Space Elementalist, the Bunny Leader wanted to make sure he got there first in case of any opportunities. The Bunny Leader was an old ghost and Grey did not even know how old he was, but he did not care. Since the Bunny Leader joined them, he had helped out a lot of times, and his Bunny army was still steadily growing. It is just that finding Bunnies that could rival Late stage Sovereigns is not that easy and the Bunny Leader only had one at the moment and he did not bring it out carelessly.
Grey and the others had no choice but to wait for news from the Bunny Leader. They did not wait long before news came from the Bunny Leader; Come quick.
