Chapter 1941: Asking For Help
Chapter 1941: Asking For Help
As the days went by, the fight against the Gnomes were getting more and more frequent. Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before a large-scale war would officially start as the number of Gnomes in the Human World have more than tripled over the past few months. If not for how hard it was for Half God Plane Gnomes to pass through the portals, then the war would have started long ago.
While Grey and his friends were doing their best to minimize the deaths in the Azure Continent, another top Force in the Aurora Continent had fallen to the hands of the Gnomes and Necromancers. Multiple people from the Force betrayed their companions in battle, showing they were Necromancers at the last moment, dooming their previous companions to death.
The destruction of this top Force was not the only bad news that hit the Human Race, they heard three of the Grand Elders from said Force were turned into Puppets after the battle ended. These were people who were Half God Plane experts. Having three new Half God Plane Puppets joining their ranks boosted the strength of the Gnomes significantly. The Gnomes did not have many Half God Plane Puppets as it was extremely difficult to grow a Puppet to that level and even harder to capture a Half God Plane Elementalist. The betrayal of some of the Elders of the Force was the reason all three Grand Elders died with complete corpses.
This news naturally hit the morale of most of the Humans fighting as they did not know who would betray them in battle. They thought the Gnomes would take an aggressive stance after taking out two top Forces and even managing to make three Half God Plane Puppets as well, to their surprise though, the Gnomes decided to lay low after this incident.
….
The Aurora Continent might be quiet after the attack, but the Azure Continent was in a state of chaos. Red City unanimously became the central area of the Azure Continent. The experts that came from Aurora Continent were mostly gathered here. Lucas sent word out so people all over the Continent would gather close to Red City for safety.
At the moment, tens of millions of people were gathered around Red City making it become crowded. Even with this many people, more than ten times this number were still out there, traveling to the region around Red City.
Lucas, being the one who had spent the most time here, started issuing orders to the Peak Sovereigns and even some Half God Plane Elementalists to position in strategic positions to ensure they would be alert and able to react if they were attacked from different angles.
….
Somewhere in the Azure Continent.
Grey and his friends had already sent the few thousand people they rescued to Red City. Due to the large number of people, it was impossible for Grey’s teleportation arrays to send them all at once, and even if he wanted to slowly send them over, it would take a lot of toll on him and would take longer than traveling with the group. According to their intelligence, a hundred and twenty kilometers around Red City is regarded as a safe zone for humans. On the way there, they encountered groups both large and small that were also traveling in that direction, making their party grow larger. From only a few thousand people, their numbers grew to over twenty thousand before they got to this safe region.
There were a few Sovereigns traveling with some of the groups, so it was easy for them to protect everyone. With Grey there, it was impossible for there to be any Necromancer hiding among the group.
Grey and his friends did not follow the group to the region, after getting within around six kilometers of the safe region, Grey sensed something and signaled the strongest Sovereign there to keep the group safe and left with his friends.
Standing on the branch of a tree, Grey’s eyes were cold as he looked in a particular direction. Klaus and Reynolds were resting their bodies on the tree while Alice held Void in her arms.
The air close to Grey suddenly quivered and the figure of the Bunny Leader appeared.
Turning his gaze to the Bunny Leader, Grey asked, “What did you find?”
“It’s as you said, a Gnome camp is there, and if I’m not mistaken, they have a Peak Sovereign overseeing the place.” The Bunny Leader replied. This has been his main job since the group set out, knowing he would not be involved in battles, the Bunny Leader did not have any problems with scouting ahead. Among all of them, he was better at concealing himself, and he had the best grasp of the space element as well, making him the perfect candidate.
“Other than the Peak Sovereign, how many other Gnomes are there and how strong are they?” Klaus asked from the side.
“You’re not thinking we should attack them are you?” Reynolds asked. Although he did not have any issues with charging there, a Peak Sovereign is not something he could deal with. A Ninth stage Sovereign might be within his means, a Peak Sovereign however was out of the question.
“If they’re not too much, why not?” Klaus asked, looking at Reynolds in contempt he said, “Grey will hold back the Peak Sovereign while we deal with the rest.” After saying this, he muttered in a mocking voice, “Or you can deal with him while Grey helps us with the weaker ones.”
Reynolds’s expression turned dark when he heard this, snorting, he did not bother to reply to Klaus. He knew his limit and there was no way he could fight a Peak Sovereign in his current state, the reason he is a little skeptical.
“Like you said, as long as they are not too many, there’s no point in backing down.” Grey glanced at Klaus before turning his attention to the Bunny Leader, all that was left now was to know if the number of Ninth stage Sovereign Gnomes or even the Eighth stage are not too much.
The Bunny Leader thought for a while before announcing, “Two Ninth stage, four Eighth stage, then there are about ten between the Seventh and Fourth stage. The rest are below the Sovereign Plane.”
Hearing the number of Gnomes, Klaus’s eyes twitched as he did not think there would be that many Late stage Sovereigns. If there were only about two in the Late stages, even if they were both in the Ninth stage, they would still be able to deal with the weaker ones. Klaus was confident he can one-shot a Sixth stage Sovereign, much less anyone weaker. A Seventh, Eighth, and even Ninth stage Sovereign, have a better chance at surviving his fatal attack even if it hits, unless they were caught by surprise.
Grey realized there was no way their group would be able to deal with that many Sovereigns. Even with Void joining the battle, it would still be difficult for them to successfully take down that number of Gnomes. If Grey did not have to deal with the Peak Sovereign, they would have stood a chance at taking them on.
“I’ll send word to my father to send a Peak Sovereign to help us. This place is close to the safe zone, I’m sure he would not want any Gnomes lurking around.” Grey said after pondering for some time.
The others agreed to his suggestion as it was the best course of action. This region was supposed to be a safe region, having Gnomes so was too dangerous.
It took only a few hours before a Peak Sovereign arrived. The Peak Sovereign was one of the two Peak Sovereigns that survived the battle that saw five Half God Plane Gnomes losing their lives. Grey had a good impression of the man during the battle, and so did the man.
When the man arrived, they immediately went to work. The man had been informed about everything here by Lucas, so he knew his job was to deal with the Peak Sovereign while Grey and the others dealt with the other Gnomes. Although he was worried they would not be able to deal with them from how few they were, he had seen Grey and Klaus in action and knew Grey could momentarily go up against a Peak Sovereign, while Ninth stage Sovereigns would not be able to cause him any harm. There was also his ability to immobilize Gnomes if they take out their Puppets. Knowing all this, the man did not feel too worried about this trip and felt it would be easy as long as they were all careful. Nevertheless, he reminded them to withdraw if they noticed the Gnomes were too much for them to handle. Grey and his friends naturally had no issues with his warning, they also had the same thought. The Gnomes’ camp was only about a kilometer away from where they were waiting.
