Chapter 1974: Dilemma
Chapter 1974: Dilemma
Tang Shaoyang was still sitting cross-legged, having a discussion with his spirits about his meridians. They dissected the breathing technique and applied it to Tang Shaoyang’s meridian, using an outline they had memorized earlier. Not just Vandir was who was interested in the martial arts, but also the other spirits. Even Karan, the orc, was interested and wanted to start his own cultivation journey.
It took more than fifteen minutes for them to figure out how Tang Shaoyang should open his meridian. Instead of focusing on the path, they focused on the destination. The first path was supposed to open a Dantian where he would gather his internal energy.
Tang Shaoyang’s first task was to open the path to Dantian, and twenty paths led to his Dantian instead of one path. Twenty different paths that lead to one direction. They slowly figured it out one by one, and Tang Shaoyang was relieved that he could figure this out on his own.
From fifteen minutes stretched to more than two hours just to figure out the intricate meridian, navigating which pathway to go where. The destination was important since that was the only way for them to figure out how to open the meridian properly.
[I don’t know why we are doing this now. You don’t need this because you should focus on the first rank, Body Tempering.] Vandir pointed out that what they had been doing was not needed, at least not now.
“At least we figure it out for the future. The next decision is, should I use my Chaos Energy for body tempering or not?” Tang Shaoyang brought up the topic again.
Before he noticed the intricate meridian of his, he decided to start cultivation from zero instead of using the cheat code. It was different now because of this unique meridian, and if he started without using his Chaos Energy, this would take so long to open up his meridian. He was unsure if he would have enough time to take advantage of this cultivation for his future battle.
The plan was in five years, and he did not know how much this class would help by then if he did not use Chaos Energy. But it might be different if he used Chaos Energy in his breathing technique. It would speed up a lot of things. He was in a dilemma right now between speed and a stronger technique and a stronger foundation.
[If you want my opinion, then start from scratch without relying on your Chaos Energy. That way, you might end up with new energy from the cultivation. A new energy, a new potential. You might end up with a stronger energy than Chaos Energy, even though I doubt it exists, but ending up with an energy type on the same level of strength as Chaos Energy is good enough. If you can’t find a stronger energy, you can try to find an energy that could synergize with your Chaos Energy. Maybe make your Chaos Energy even stronger.]
Vandir brought up another advantage from starting cultivation without Chaos Energy. Now, the pros were maybe a stronger technique created himself, a stronger foundation, and maybe getting a new, stronger energy or something that could strengthen the Chaos Energy.
Tang Shaoyang learned to start the cultivation without relying on his Chaos Energy. He was in a dilemma because he was on a timer, and he felt like he should prioritize his empire. However, he was convinced to start from zero when Vandir pitched his thoughts.
[Don’t be hasty and take your time. We can see that the energy you absorbed from the Essence of Tranquility Breathing doesn’t clash with Chaos Energy. However, we can’t ignore the possibility that the new stronger energy might clash with Chaos Energy.]
Zara reminded Tang Shaoyang that while two different energies could work in synergy, it might work the opposite as well, a clash. A clash between two strong energies at the same level would destroy Tang Shaoyang. There was a chance that he might be dead, truly dead, for real dead.
The Seven Souls might revive him again, but he must get rid of the clash of energy. If he could not do so, resurrection would be useless because he would end up using the remaining souls and die. The better scenario for clash energy was that Chaos Energy ended up devouring this new energy.
[Visit Sacred Realm. You must put that up in your list and find out what kind of energy that might have a synergy with the Chaos Energy. For now, you cultivate with the Essence of Tranquility Breathing.]
Avyn finally said her piece, and that was the decision. Tang Shaoyang would use the Essence of Tranquility Breathing until…
“Until when?” Tang Shaoyang realized that he did not know the timing to switch from Basic-ranked Technique to Intermediate Technique. Grandmaster Xu’s note said that he would know in time when to pick the intermediate level technique.
[Again, you are worrying about something you should not worry about. That’s for later, for now, you just sit and do the breathing technique!] Vandir raised his voice slightly, almost scolding. Just like a parent who kept reminding his child.
“You are right…” Tang Shaoyang checked the surroundings for a moment, considering whether he should return to the main base or stay here. He did a quick check with the spirit who followed his team.
His team was currently exploring outside, fighting the calamity in the vicinity of the main base. They listened to his advice to take it slow instead of going farther from the main base. Knowing they were safe, he cut the vision.
He checked the city with his Chaos Eyes to ensure that the city was still safe after the Thousand Halls disappeared. The barrier was still active. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes after confirming that he would be safe from the calamity.
Tang Shaoyang put his focus on executing the Essence of Tranquility Breathing. Even though he had done it earlier, he was still clumsy. That was why he put his focus on executing technique and failed to notice the surrounding energy swirling around him as he absorbed it.
The first cycle was completed without issue, but still slow. The second cycle, the third cycle, and forth. He became more familiar with the technique, and he became faster. At first, he did not notice the change, but when he had finished more than thirty cycles, he started to sense the change within his body.
Tang Shaoyang absorbed more energy than in his first attempt, much more. Then he noticed his meridian had become bigger as well. He tried to absorb as much energy as he could, thinking it could quicken the process of strengthening his meridian, but he felt a slight sting, a weird and uncomfortable sensation.
’Take it slow and follow the flow…’
