Chapter 1144: Two Eagles With One Arrow (2)
The waves were so powerful, their pressure so grand, that the four Fiend Gods thought that they were dealing with a True Immortal.
This judgment wasn’t entirely wrong. The Sea Reversing Immortal Formation was an extremely powerful Immortal formation.
Although this formation was only at the Earth Immortal level, in fights of the same level, it was almost always true that formations were stronger. Thus, it wasn’t strange for the Sea Reversing Immortal Formation to be able to fight off four Fiend Gods.
The real surprise was that the cost for Tang Jie to lay this formation was startlingly low.
He had only added in a few of his own resources, with everything else coming from the Five Elementals, who had transformed themselves to substitute for the vast majority of the resources needed. Even the resources that Tang Jie had added were mainly to lessen the burden on the Elementals. The only thing consumed by this formation was the essence power of the Elementals.
This was essentially the only limit the Elementals had. But this essence power could be recovered so long as they still lived, similarly to spiritual power for cultivators, so what was really limited was the duration of the formation.
This was Tang Jie’s first time using the Five Elementals to lay down a formation, and this was an Immortal formation, so he didn’t have any grasp of how long the Elementals could last. Thus, he wanted to take care of the Ice Dragon Emperor as swiftly as possible.
The North Sea Dragon Palace was also affected by the Sea Reversing Immortal Formation.
At the bottom of the ocean, the formation began to twist and shift the earth’s crust, causing it to rupture and crack. Sitting on the ocean bottom, the massive dragon palace started to be torn apart by these forces.
But the dragon palace was a divine treasure, so it unleashed a massive barrier to protect itself from all shocks. However, as the tremors intensified, taxing the dragon palace’s defenses more and more, the palace finally started to move upward.
On the surface, massive waves rose up.
The dragon palace emerged from the center of these waves, a giant mountain in the middle of the ocean, glinting with golden light.
“Impudent!” A furious roar came from the palace, shooting toward Tang Jie like a lethal arrow.
Tang Jie’s body flashed with a white light, easily blocking that sonic arrow. “Old dragon, finally coming out of your turtle shell?”
“Audacious!” Furious roars came from all around, and a moment later, countless sea fiends poured out of the dragon palace toward Tang Jie.
Tang Jie sighed. “Why do this to yourself?”
A terrifying power instantly filled the heavens, all the fiends sensing an immense pressure approaching.
“This… How could this be?” The fiends gazed up at the sky in terror. In their eyes, Tang Jie had already turned into a monster.
Even if it had the form of an ordinary human, Tang Jie emitted a blazing light akin to the sun. All other powers seemed dim before this light, all auras weak and fragile, all existences insignificant.
How could one person possess such monstrous power?
The fiends didn’t know, but the immense aura Tang Jie unleashed had them all quailing in fear.
This energy was continuing to rise, growing more majestic by the moment, and the fiends finally began to break under this pressure and turn to dust.
There was a soft sigh.
With this sigh, the pressure from Tang Jie plunged and the skies cleared, and the fiends once more charged into the fray.
Tang Jie smiled. “What? You think acting like a turtle while having your subordinates fight for you can deal with me?”
His eyes gleamed.
Tang Jie began to raise his power without restraint, unleashing it to its full extent.
Tang Jie had grown even stronger from his previous fight, and as he fully unleashed it, it sent violent shockwaves into his surroundings, so powerful that they made the fabric of space tremble, waver, and shatter.
With this expression of power, Tang Jie had revealed his wild and berserk side. The abrupt shockwave of energy roared out like a tsunami, instantly flattening the fiends at the very front.
Walls of ice appeared in the air as the Ice Dragon Emperor began to put up defenses to weaken Tang Jie’s attack. This pitiful True Immortal Fiend God had fallen so far that it had to rely on the dragon palace to defend itself and its subordinates to attack, while it could only focus all its strength on defending its subordinates.
Unfortunately, weakened by the Eternal Flame, it couldn’t stop Tang Jie’s assault.
The violent energy was like a storm of Astral Wind, blasting through the frozen air and sweeping through the fiends.
Tang Jie, fully immersed in the experience, shouted, “Let’s have a good fight!”
This cry resounded through the world like the roar of a dragon.
At this moment, six beams of light shot out of the dragon palace.
They wove together into a rainbow belt and fended off Tang Jie’s thunderous cry.
“Eh?” Tang Jie was surprised.
The four Fiend Gods were all being kept out of the battlefield by the Sea Reversing Formation, so the only Fiend God in the dragon palace was the Ice Dragon Emperor, so those six beams of light shouldn’t have been the work of a Fiend God.
A non–Fiend God could block his attack…
Tang Jie understood.
“A secret art to turn fiends into shadow attendants. These must be your six Shadow Servants.”
As Tang Jie spoke, six dragon phantoms appeared above the palace, ethereal existences that constantly shifted between reality and illusion.
These were the famous Six Shadow Servants of the Ice Dragon Emperor. It was said that the Ice Dragon Emperor severed its own shadow and attached parts of its soul to the corpses of six Fiend Emperors to create them.
As its shadows, each Shadow Servant had a part of the Ice Dragon Emperor’s strength, making them far stronger than the average Fiend Emperor. And because their souls were linked, they were extremely good at working together—when they combined their powers, they had thirty percent of the Ice Dragon Emperor’s power.
Thirty percent of a True Immortal was far above the average Fiend God.
But the Shadow Servants’ nature meant that the Dark Night Ancestor countered them, so the Ice Dragon Emperor hadn’t dared to use them in that fight. Now, however, they could play a critical role.
The Ice Dragon Emperor roared, “Kill him!”
The six Shadow Servants fired off six beams of light at Tang Jie.
Tang Jie simply said in scorn, “Simply moths rushing at a flame!”
As he spoke, a red sun rose.
The six Shadow Servants discovered to their shock that their powers rapidly dwindled away under this crimson light. The combination methods that they were so proud of not only failed to protect them, but doubled their pain.
Their lives faded along with their powers. Shadow Servants were a unique form of life. Using the corpses of Fiend Emperors as their bodies and the divinity of the Ice Dragon Emperor as their souls, they were an existence between life and death that was extremely hard to kill. Other than those with things like the region of darkness, the vast majority of cultivators could do nothing to these life forms. But here, this type of existence proved useless, melting away like snow under the sun.
Shrieking, the Six Shadow Servants retreated.
But Tang Jie had never let his enemy have their way. Raising his hand, he immediately began to pull the Shadow Servants toward him. At the same time, the light exploded like that of the Big Bang, instantly lighting up the entire world.
At the end of day was the dark night!
The apex of light was darkness!
The light finally faded, and when the fiends regained their vision and looked around, they no longer saw the Six Shadow Servants, only six clouds of smoke rising into the air.
“NOOO!!!” the Ice Dragon Emperor roared in disbelief.
Dead!
Its Six Shadow Servants had died just like that. Not even the Dark Night Ancestor would have been able to do this so easily, so how had this human done it?
Tang Jie coldly said, “As I said, moths rushing to the flame!”
These words were like the proclamation of the god of death, striking fear into the hearts of the fiends. By using the Heavenly Dao Realm to kill the Six Shadow Servants in one strike, Tang Jie had successfully given the fiends the impression that he was invincible, which would be extremely helpful for the rest of this battle. Otherwise, dealing with an endless army of sea fiends and the Ice Dragon Emperor was a scenario that even Tang Jie wasn’t sure he could win. Most importantly, he didn’t have much time to waste. Outside the Sea Reversing Formation, the four Fiend Gods and even more fiends were coming.
After intimidating the fiends, Tang Jie turned to the dragon palace and coldly laughed, “Still hiding away in your shell, old turtle? Then I’ll smash you along with it!”
His body instantly grew to that of a giant, standing on the ocean and wielding a long-handled golden axe, the Sovereign Blade transformed. But compared to the giant Tang Jie, the axe still seemed rather small.
Tang Jie frowned. “It’s a little small. As expected, the Sovereign Blade is far from reaching its perfect form. Still, let me try that out…”
His eyes erupted with light as he punched at the air and shouted, “All… weapons… shatter!”
His roar shattered the art relics held by the fiends, disarming all of them. And while the fiends with divine treasures managed to keep their weapons, they still stared at Tang Jie in shock. A shower of golden grains shot toward the Sovereign Blade, upon which that axe grew a little larger.
Tang Jie’s complexion turned pale as he gazed at the axe. “It’s still not enough. Well, I’ll make do with it for now. Eat my axe!”
He chopped at the dragon palace!
