Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1448 Atticus

Chapter 1448  Atticus

“Enough of this!” Both of Neresa’s hands blurred. Mana poured into her body and wrapped around her in a radiant armor of blinding light.

“I’ll kill you all!” She raised her hand and a beam of pure force surged towards them.

Lyanna and Sirius moved in sync. Their gazes met in the air, and the world answered. Ice and wind burst forward and met the beam mid flight.

The collision blew the hill apart. Dust and shockwaves tore through the area.

‘We failed to buy time.’

Lyanna shot out of the haze, rising high into the air.

They were outnumbered four to two. In a battle of paragons, it was dangerous. Their plan had been to buy time until Nathan arrived, but they’d been forced to fight.

‘She’s coming.’ Neresa burst out of the smoke in a streak of light. She thrust her spear with so much force the air itself whipped into a spiral.

Lyanna moved like falling snow. Her dagger tapped the shaft, redirecting it. Before Neresa could react, Lyanna’s kick slammed into her ribs and sent her flying.

“Arise!” Lyanna’s head snapped downward to see a legion of undead staring back at her with lifeless eyes. They fired towards her like missiles.

‘Ugly.’ Cold bled from her skin and the sky flashed pale. Frost swallowed the legion in an instant. The corpses froze mid air and fell like shattered statues.

Mae’s eyes constricted. Her legion had been destroyed so easily?

“I’ll kill you!” Neresa roared, tearing back in with more power.

“Who screams right before attacking?”

Neresa’s thrust was about to hit when her body scattered into the snow. A chill gripped Neresa’s spine.

“She’s behind you!” Mae screamed.

Neresa spun, but an icy dagger was already driving for her neck.

“Shit!” She twisted. The blade scraped across and carved a bloody line, tearing a chunk out of her neck. Blood sprayed. She fought through the ache and gripped her spear, but froze when she saw the next dagger already surging for her eyes.

Clang! Mae appeared in front of her in a burst of purple, intercepting the blade. Lyanna broke apart again, reforming at Neresa’s flank, dagger already thrusting for her chest.

Mae detonated in an explosion of force that slammed into Lyanna and Neresa, hurtling them away in different directions.

‘She’s different.’ Lyanna regained her footing and fixed her eyes on Mae. She was bathed in a purple light that reeked of death. More undead rose from beneath her, staring at Lyanna with pure malice.

Mae glared at Lyanna. “Don’t ignore me.” Their eyes met, then they vanished, colliding in the skies in a flurry of force.

Farther out, another battle tore the landscape apart.

The leader of the Khelzar team had turned into a giant titan of flesh and bone. His every step shook the earth, his every attack cratering the terrain. But his opponent was… air. Sirius moved with a swiftness that bordered on impossible. Every attack was evaded, and his retaliation rendered with a speed that Caelum couldn’t fathom. Each exchange left a new bleeding cut across Caelus’s body. Caelum roared, sending out a blast that hurled Sirius back. He lunged in the next instant, claws ripping out. But Sirius slowly slid his sword into its sheath. The blade trembled. Then he fully drew it and released a blast of compressed air.

Caelus tried to shift his body but the pressure tore clean through his left arm.

“Ahhh!”

Sirius backed up and re-sheathed his sword. He was about to draw again when the world around him warped. The open field flooded and became an endless black ocean.

‘Where’s he?’ Caelum had vanished, and he couldn’t even see Lyanna battle anymore.

‘An illusion. Rehn.’ A Velmirath was responsible for this. Sirius closed his eyes and listened to the one thing that wouldn’t lie to him. The air.

‘An attack.’ He dipped. A claw ripped through where his head had been. He spun and created distance, but it was unrelenting. Attacks rained down on him and he continuously evaded.

‘I can’t keep doing this.’

The next time the claw came down, Sirius let go of his blade.

“I am wind.” He broke apart into air. Outside the illusion, Rehn felt the whisper of death and turned. A blade drove through his head the next moment, but Sirius frowned. ‘It’s fake.’ The illusion dispersed, revealing the scene. Rehn stood alongside Caelum, whose left hand had been severed. Though the former gazed at him with intrigue, the latter was pure hatred.

It had truly never occurred to them that the Ravensteins were this strong.

‘Hm?’ Sirius turned to the ground. ‘It’s shaking.’ He turned towards the distant horizon. A streak tore through the earth, heading towards them. But that wasn’t all, more streaks followed from behind.

‘About time.’

“Sorry I’m late, old friend!” Sirius hid his cold remark and sighed at his friend. Nathan’s face was hardened. “I shall take full responsibility for this later. For now, we will handle them.” Sirius nodded, and they both turned towards the duo watching them with tensed expressions.

As they were about to move, an explosion in the distance made them freeze.

‘That’s…’ The hill. Someone had attacked the hill! Sirius and Nathan’s eyes went wide. The former became air, the latter turned to earth.

“I will have my revenge, no matter what.”

Blood oozing from her neck, Neresa’s arms blurred, unleashing another wave of attack that finally destroyed the building.

“Stay back!” Yotad stood in front of Arya and Anastasia, staring at Neresa with cold eyes.

‘I’ll give my life to protect your loved one, master.’

“I’ll handle her!”

“Don’t—!”

Anastasia reached out but Yotad was already moving. He charged Neresa with his blade raised. Neresa didn’t even bother turning her body.

“Out of my way.”

Fire swallowed him and he turned to ash in the air.

“Stay back, my lady.” Arya stepped in front of Anastasia. Her legs were shaking, but her eyes were steady.

“I’ll protect you.”

“Are you fucking deaf?” Neresa lifted her hand.

She was about to attack when Anastasia suddenly stepped in front of Arya.

“I won’t have another person throw their life away for me,” she said softly, and smiled.

Arya’s heart dropped.

“NO!”

Lyanna, Sirius, Nathan and every other paragon rushed to intercept, but it was too late. Anastasia was engulfed in roaring flames the next moment, but the eyes of everyone widened as her body lit up with a red glow.

“What!?” Neresa’s eyes went wide. Her flames had engulfed her, yet she remained unharmed. How!?

Before any of them could register the event, two flashes of light ignited, and two figures materialized before Anastasia.

The first was a furry creature of pure white. Though his size was nothing short of a puppy, the killing intent that leaked from his figure chilled bones. The second was a figure known by everyone on the planet, the legend who’d saved Eldoralth again and again, who’d ushered a new age and lifted them up to this stage. The god of Eldoralth, Atticus Ravenstein.

“Stop.”

At his word, the hundreds of billions across the planet stopped.
