Beastmaster of the Ages

Chapter 3787 - Waste of a Trip

Chapter 3787 - Waste of a Trip

The new flameyellow descendants were mostly foundationeers with heavenly shackles. There were more than enough people in the Upper Star Ruin that could easily oppress them, so they rarely had a chance to even struggle.

"We're almost there, everyone. What's with the long faces?" Zhantian Le asked, coldly sweeping her eyes across them.

"Lady, may we ask why you have brought us—" Before the girl even finished, Zhantian Le gave her a single look, causing her body to violently explode into nothing.

"I asked you to smile, not speak," she said before walking ahead, her feet so huge that she stomped a few flameyellow descendants dead without even bothering to look.

That casual disregard for their lives terrorized the crowd even more. The seventy-meter-tall giant was the arbiter of their existence. They could only see her angry face by bending their necks up to look. It was a huge gap that could never be overcome. The nine million flameyellow descendants watched as the glowing spot ahead of the ship grew brighter and brighter.

"It looks like a Middlekin Star Ruin...."

"Is that where we'll stay from now on?"

"Stay? More like where we'll die. I heard that dying inside an astral hole is even worse."

"It doesn't matter, we're all going to die anyway! This was a waste of a trip to the world of the living. We're being punished for no reason."

"I heard that quite a few of us have been saved by Long Xing, the cosmic god in Starmoon Haven. I'm envious of them. Their lives have meaning, unlike ours. I just wonder how long that cosmic god can hold on."

Nobody knew the answer to that question. When they spoke, they could only do so in the softest of whispers, lest they risk death. They looked with fear at the woman that had their lives in her hands. Even though they wanted her dead, they knew that they were nothing but flies to her; flies that she could flatten with a single slap.

A seventh-level overflower was a completely different lifeform from them. They could tell that Zhantian Le was rather annoyed, so they made sure to keep their words short lest they incur her wrath. It wasn't the first time they’d had to push down their rage and frustration. There was nothing they could do even if they let it all out anyway.

Their fates had been sealed in a world where levels reigned supreme. The Heavenly Dao had sentenced their entire race to be slaves whose sole purpose in life was to be trampled under the feet of others. There was no use grieving or lamenting it. Had it been any other group of people, they would have crumbled long ago. But the courage and determination that flowed within their bloodline kept the spark in their eyes from being completely extinguished. They dared to yearn for a future, which was greatly helped by the emergence of a cosmic god among them.

Naturally, they didn't dream of overthrowing the Eightpart Pantheons. However, the existence of that cosmic god made them see hope in working hard to find opportunities to strengthen themselves. If any of them could eventually become cosmic gods, they would be able to defend their people, like Long Xing. They held each other's hands in the dark, feeding the warmth of their own kind and thankful for the determination to persist.

All those aspirations didn't escape Zhantian Le's detection. "Dreaming of rising up against us again, eh?" It was such a common sight that she had grown numb to it. Most of the slaves she had seen were like that. She didn't think too much about it, though, and even found it rather funny.

"How disgusting... If not for the incidents at the Middlekin Star Ruin, I wouldn't even have to spend time in the presence of you insects. Come to think of it, I wonder what Zhantian Feng’s up to..." As she looked toward the Middlekin Star Ruin, her eyes suddenly widened.

"What in the world is that?!" In the shadows above Feng Capital Ghoul, a nine-headed mechanical dragon suddenly appeared! The ship heavily shook as its divine astralship formation, which was on par with the Cosmic God Palace's, uncontrollably rumbled.

"Hold on tight!" The flameyellow descendants immediately protected each other, worried that they would be injured from the shaking.

"That's odd. This is a devan ship piloted by a genius from a cosmic line in Wargod Haven. Who would dare touch it?" The nine million flameyellow descendants were just as speechless as Zhantian Le about the unbelievable act.

"The nine-headed dragon’s my brother's enemy! How did they find me?!" Zhantian Le's whole body shook as her expression turned grim. She took out a golden transmission stone and called Zhantian Feng.

"I'm being attacked! It's those stinkbugs of yours! Hurry!" she nervously yelled. Even though she was conceited, she knew that the attack was a big deal. Based on their experience, it was practically impossible for Tianming to locate them in such a vast swath of empty space. Tianming hadn't even entered the Feng Capital Ghoul, so there was no way he could mark it like he had the Cosmic God Palace! The impossible had happened!

"What?!" Zhantian Feng growled. "Yanri Shuang, hurry up! Quick!" He was getting desperate. Tianming's capabilities had once more exceeded his imagination!

"Dammit!" Right as Zhantian Le was about to say something, her ship shook heavily once more and broke apart, causing her transmission stone to fly off. She glared at the nine million slaves. Is he trying to rescue them? Where’d he get his information?!

Tianming, Long Qian, and the rest were just a few slaves! How were they able to behave like a powerful faction that had all sorts of information and was able to track down everything?! Little did they know that a single Myriadworld Immortabeast was enough!

Right as Zhantian Le was about to grab a handful of flameyellow descendants, the divine astralship formation above her was ripped through by the sharp sword-tail of the mechanical dragon and a large number of dragonoids flooded through the opening into the Feng Capital Ghoul.

"Overflower slaves!" Zhantian Le's eyes turned cold. The dragonoids, under Long Qian's lead, stood before the nine million slaves. They didn't even need to say a word, but the flameyellow descendants all teared up in joy.

"I’m Long Qian! The emperor ordered me to take you home! A home that belongs to us!" Long Qian pointed at the black dragon tail and said, "Go in, quickly! Prioritize women, children, the elderly, and the sick!"

"Yes!" the nine million roared in unison. They didn't know Long Qian or her 'emperor', but the same blood flowed within them, binding their fates together. It was a basis of absolute faith that needed no elaboration. Not to mention, what could their rescuers want from them that their slavers hadn't already taken? The dragonoids secured a safe path for them to leave.

"Do you think you can leave with them?! Am I the delusional one, or are you?!" Zhantian Le snickered and charged toward Long Qian.
