Chaos Heir

Chapter 1250 Matchmaking

Chapter 1250 Matchmaking

Both sides of the married couple fell prey to long conversations. Liiza talked with Jenna, while Khan dealt with Ilman, and it was unclear which one had it worse.

Khan and Ilman's silver lining lay in their drinks, but the latter was also more troublesome than Jenna. That probably led to a draw between the two strangely similar situations, but neither Khan nor Liiza was trying to win anything there.

Yet, the two conversations fatefully, or due to more pressing matters, ended at the same time. Khan completed his report while talking with Ilman and forwarded it to the single ship still hovering around his vessel. His part was done there, so it was time for Jenna to get to work.

Jenna and Liiza returned to the bridge, with the former happily clinging to the latter's right elbow. The two aliens were quite a sight, which left Khan and Ilman speechless longer than they would admit while they waited by the control desk.

The two women were an odd pair. One was tall, pale, slender, but busty and with an ethereal, fairy-like appearance. She was also warmer and beaming with a contagious happiness that tried to increase the area's temperature.

Instead, the other woman was shorter, darker, and more minute. Her white eyes, strands, and cold aura enveloped her in an untouchable and unreachable vibe as if she were an avatar of something bigger than life, an emissary of an emotionless god.

Of course, Jenna and Liiza left a far different impression on the two men's brains, but Khan didn't let the scene distract him from his priorities. He also had to seize the initiative to stop Ilman from taking over the event.

"I forwarded everything I need to the ship outside," Khan announced. "They are waiting for your order to collect the necessary supplies."

"I've been updated," Jenna revealed, drawing a phone-like device from one of the many pockets of her loose dress. "It might take a few days, but I'll get everything."

Khan nodded and glanced at the control desk behind him. Standing still wasn't ideal, but waiting a few days was doable. Reaching Coravis would be the main issue, but Khan could only hope for another uneventful trip at that point.

"How many ships are you planning on sending?" Khan asked. "We should keep their number to a minimum. If space is a problem, you can load anything that doesn't fit here."

"Between five and ten," Jenna explained. "After all, we must establish something worthy of being called a colony."

Khan nodded again. His forces could help, but the whole point behind a Nele colony was to have actual Nele. He couldn't compromise on that point, especially since the aliens needed their own manpower to start turning Coravis into a suitable home.

"You can save some supplies," Khan suggested, completely turning toward the control desk. "Just bring goods specific to the Nele and what's necessary for the trip. My forces will provide everything else once we reach the planet."

"I'll relay the message," Jenna stated, "But Khan …"

That call forced Khan to turn, only for Jenna's radiant happiness to wash over him. The Nele's smile had grown smaller but more genuine, almost conveying how dear the topic was to her.

"Thank you," Jenna continued. "Thank you for doing this."

"Hey, I did make you a promise," Khan casually said, trying to dismiss those heartfelt words. "I'm actually sorry I can't send all of you to my planet already."

The two exchanged understanding and meaningful smiles, but a dark figure jumped between them before Jenna could fall prey to her troublesome habits. Liiza escaped the Nele's grasp and reached Khan, leaving a quick kiss on his lips before seizing his empty glass.

"Husband, Jenna said she wants to stay in our ship during the trip," Liiza revealed, refilling the glass. "I think it will be good for Tamara, but I'll also have to modify the potions, and I might need your help."

Liiza had never been a great liar, especially for Khan, but the chilling smile that landed on his face when she offered him the full glass told him everything he needed to know.

Khan took the booze, wearing a far more convincing façade while voicing the vague intentions that seeped through the mental connection. "We are busy then. Ilman, why don't you help Jenna get accustomed to the ship for now?"

"Of course!" Ilman shouted, oblivious to the pretense, while bowing to Jenna. "If you'll have me, I'll make it my life's mission to improve your stay here!"

"It's just a tour," Jenna said, unable to hold back her giggle. "There's no need to wage your life on it. I'm sure you'll be perfect."

"Nonsense!" Ilman cried, still bowing. "Anything involving you must demand my full effort and seriousness. I wouldn't forgive myself otherwise."

"Well, if you insist," Jenna muttered. "Shall we?"

Ilman snapped straight, firmly advancing, only for his figure to stiffen even more when Jenna took his hand. The Niqols' aura intensified at that event, filling the symphony with an unwavering seriousness that left the married couple speechless.

"Is he going into battle or something?" Khan whispered when Ilman and Jenna reached the bridge's entrance and crossed it.

"I think a battle would be easier for Ilman," Liiza guessed. "Jenna also said so many things only to go along with him immediately."

"Did she deny it?" Khan wondered, his glowing eyes still fixed on the closed metal door.

"The opposite," Liiza explained. "She was only worried it could get in the way of taking care of her species, especially in such a critical moment."

Khan almost found that funny. In a way, Jenna's current situation was similar to Liiza's right before Khan kidnapped her. However, Jenna didn't necessarily have to give up on her species to follow her feelings. That part would depend on Ilman.

Of course, all that was under the assumption that something was actually happening between Ilman and Jenna.

Khan kept staring at the closed door, but a cold head eventually landed on his shoulder. He didn't hesitate to kiss it, but the affection seeping through the mental connection made him ask a question.

"[What is it]?" Khan asked in the Niqols' language.

"[We played matchmaking]," Liiza cutely said. "[Now I understand why Azni had so much fun with it]."

"[Azni would have probably pushed them on a bed already]," Khan laughed. "[Though they aren't the easiest people to deal with]."

Khan began to lay his head on Liiza's, only for an abrupt, troubling thought to rise toward his mind. His eyes went wide as he shot at full speed toward the exit, almost making Liiza fall due to the sudden loss of support.

The door instantly opened, but Khan almost considered breaking it due to how slow it felt. He quickly crossed it, only to halt his steps when familiar laughs reached his ears.

Khan couldn't see Ilman and Jenna but could sense and hear them. They sounded in the middle of a peaceful and enjoyable date, facing no problems whatsoever. Yet, Khan couldn't help but find an issue with that, too.

"[Husband]," A chilling voice resounded behind Khan while a cold hand grabbed his hair, pulling him back. "[I've been trying to be an understanding wife, but maybe you want to avoid drinking while I'm busy giving birth to our child]."

The pull didn't hurt, but Khan turned anyway, and Liiza trapped his face between her palms before continuing. "[Or do you want us to avoid sex? You know, it might be bad for the baby]."

Liiza let her hands slide forward to wrap her arms around Khan's neck. She pulled herself closer, reaching his ear to whisper teasing but fearsome words.

"[I could also take on Jenna's offer and let her join us]," Liiza suggested. "[But I'd have to remove that thing I like so much before allowing her through the door]."

The threats were very real. After all, that was the second time that day that Khan had left Liiza to chase after another woman. However, Khan had a concerning explanation now.

"[Ilman removed the ointment for the Nele's pheromones while we were talking]," Khan gasped.

"[Oh]," Liiza muttered, still planning on threatening Khan.

"[Oh]!" Liiza suddenly exclaimed, pulling herself back as soon as understanding dawned upon her mind. She exchanged a knowing glance with Khan before both peeked behind him, following the distancing laughs and auras of their two friends.
