Chapter 3289: Same Idea
Chapter 3289: Same Idea
Rean held one of those VS Devices with his Divine Energy, using his Divine Sense to feel every part.
The device was like a tiny chip, no more than a few millimeters long. On its bottom, an even smaller compartment existed, and several hundreds of centimeters worth of tendrils could be found inside. They were so thin that one would be hard-pressed to see them with the naked eye.
Rean was prepared to see how it worked, and he got a simple animal while he was out buying the devices and the divine emblem stones. As if the device could understand its position, it entered the animal's head and attached itself to the surface of the brain. Next, those tendrils came out, piercing the brain at several key spots, and spread through its entire extension internally.
Rean then removed the animal's brain and recorded every piece of information he could get before throwing it away and getting a new VS Device. From the looks of it, when its host died, the device itself seemed to break, its runes crumbling all at once.
"Sister Orb, what materials are these tendrils made of? They are extremely malleable, and yet, they are very resistant and especially great at conducting electrical signals and soul power."
[I noticed that as well. These tendrils have an alloy that I can't recognize. As for the runes, they seem to be those Divine Sense Runes that Waritala talked about.]
"Oh!" Rean got more interested. His Divine Sense focused on the runes, now understanding why they felt so foreign to him. "Well, we can only take a few out and check closely."
Controlling his Divine Energy and Sense like a high-precision machine, Rean carefully opened the VS device and began to mess around with the micro runes. Those runes, obviously, were many times smaller than the tendrils, and there were at least a few hundred thousand there. This wasn't a surprise to Rean, who already worked with micro runes back in the Lisan Universe. The only difference was that these runes used Divine Sense in their making. "There is no doubt. They are also Circuitry Formation Runes but of a different type. That's where the Divine Sense comes in. It is like these runes are over a wall. On one side, you have the material world, on the other, the Divine Sense world. They are perfectly balanced on that wall, making use of both sides. Truly impressive. Saying that these runes are immaterial wouldn't be wrong, but it wouldn't be correct either. They are neither, and at the same time, they are both."
Zangeshu narrowed his eyes to the side. He envied Rean's capabilities to see those runes and even work on them with his Divine Sense and Energy alone. He had to use his own devices to take a closer look, and even that was quite hard to manage. "Is Divine Sense really that much more precise?"
Rean glanced at him, patting his shoulder. "It is not just Divine Sense and Energy. It is also cultivation. The higher your cultivation, the higher your perceptions. It is a natural thing."
Zangeshu nodded, stealing his resolve. "Intensify my cultivation schedule. If possible, make me reach the Transition Realm in a year."
Rean smiled and shook his head. "That would be remarkable, but also too fast. You are different than me. You need time to allow your body and dantian to get used to the Divine Energy. Just don't forget. Because you aren't connected to the network yet, you haven't received any Divine Energy to use yet. You can only use the Spiritual Energy that is still remaining in this Dimensional Realm. Once you connect, you will immediately receive Divine Energy, and your body will start to transform to adapt to this new energy. It is quite painful, but it is necessary. That alone will already make things much easier for you."
Zangeshu looked at Rean, nodding with his cold expression. He should actually feel proud of himself. To be doing what he is doing now at his level shows just how ridiculously high his talent and precision to formations are. "Still, I don't seem to find anything wrong with this device. I don't understand these Divine Sense Runes very well, but I don't think they are used to take control over the mind either."
[Same here,] Sister Orb joined. [The materials used are great for communication, electricity and soul power conductivity. In this case, we could say Divine Sense enters this narrative as a kind of soul power derivative. I'm pretty sure that's how it shows you a virtual world that can be controlled by your own thoughts and soul. Nonetheless, the opposite can't be done. They can't be used for control. The whole structure doesn't match something capable of doing that, like the Werdlem Soul Worms.]
Rean already reached the same conclusion. "That's what I thought when I saw them for the first time outside. It is good that the two of you agree with me on that. However, will we really use them? Even if none of us think it can be used to control one's mind, we aren't really 100% sure. We know too little about Divine Sense Circuitry Runes to guarantee that."
Sister Orb and Zangeshu went silent. Zangeshu definitely wanted to try the device, but he didn't dare to have those things piercing his brain regardless of how safe it looked to be. "I believe we only have one choice here."
Rean agreed with him. "We will need to make a new version of our own."
[Hehe! That will take some time but it is definitely doable. Using my control of the Dimensional Realm, I can extract all the runes without damaging them. Consider me a high- precision machine that never fails. The only question is how you will see and interact with the virtual information that was supposed to be sent and controlled by your minds through the tendrils.]
Rean and Zangeshu looked at each other, seemingly having the same idea.
"A bridge?" Zangeshu asked.
"A bridge." And Rean confirmed.
