Chapter 3760: Same Result
Chapter 3760: Same Result
Any of the three could create a teleport formation for long distances. As for a formation that simply closes a Spatial Gate, in fact, it is even easier to make. They just needed to be careful with the power necessary for that.
Of course, Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan knew that the Shadow Beings would try to enlarger the Spatial Gate, so they prepared plenty of Divine Stones to fuel a pretty powerful formation. It wouldn’t lose to Kentucky’s attempt at all.
As for the killing of the Shadow Beings, they made the formation double-layered. The second one was a Yang Energy-based Slaughtering Formation. To make sure the Formation was going to work, Rean reopened the Spatial Gates a few times, just a tiny gap to allow some Shadow Beings of lower level to come out. During these tests, Rean noticed that the smaller the gap, the weaker the shadows. Obviously, the shadows’ sizes were deeply connected to their strength.
With that, they used the Shadow Beings to adjust the Slaughtering Formation so it would only target them, nothing else. Sparks of lightning ran wild, striking one shadow being after another into nothing. As long as the Shadow Beings weren’t stronger than Elemental Space Realm experts, the formation would take care of them.
Lastly, the tiny gaps Rean opened were forced closed by his formation. That served to confirm that the formation was also working on that side.
---
Roan waited patiently since Rean’s group had never made a formation that targets those ethereal agglomerations of emotions. The part that closed the Spatial Gates was easy, but the Slaughtering second layer took Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan five whole weeks to finish. Well, they could have finished it much sooner, but Rean wanted to be absolutely sure it worked, so they tested it plenty.
"So, is it ready?" Roan looked at the enormous formation under him. It not only used the Divine Stones they had, but also absorbed the Divine Origin Energy of the surroundings.
"Yes," Rean and the others were ready to enter the Dimensional Realm. "Once the Spatial Gate closes behind, the formation will collapse by itself, leaving no clues that a Spatial Gate was opened here. It took a few weeks to finish, but it was definitely better than twenty years of flight."
"Best of all, we saved the whole project in the system," Zangeshu added. "We will be able to build another one of these anywhere else as long as we have enough Divine Stones or Divine Origin Energy around."
Roan was satisfied enough. "That’s good. It means we can keep using the Spatial Gates. Alright, go back. It’s time for us to leave."
Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan quickly entered the Dimensional Realm, watching Roan from inside with the others.
Roan checked the Universe D33 Network, opening the map to calculate the distance. He found it quite convenient that he could control it with his mind, very similar to when he accessed the system’s reward list. Finally, he made a cutting motion with his hand, and a small Spatial Gate opened once again.
*Uuwwwuwuuuuu...*
The shadow beings quickly rushed out, but Roan ignored them all and flew inside. He even had to force his way as the shadow beings kept trying to come out through that tiny gap.
At the same time, Rean, Zangeshu, and Tanxan’s Formation lit up, the Divine Stones began to turn to dust, and lightning flew everywhere, striking the Shadow Beings. The Spatial Layer also closed in on the Spatial Gate, and even more energy was used to close it. It all lasted just three seconds, tens of shadow beings escaped, just to die almost instantly, and the Gate closed right after. As Rean said, the formation collapsed as soon as the gate was gone.
---
Behind the fabric of space, Roan traveled through the Spatial Tunnel he created to connect to the Frutuo Region, just a few tens of thousands of kilometers from Trombel City. At their level, flying that distance truly wasn’t much anymore.
[Foreign force has attempted to invade Roan’s soul.]

[Foreign...
However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. Every second, thousands of shadows plunged into Roan’s body, trying to take over his soul. The system, which had been eliminating them all easily so far, began to feel the burden. It was way more than Roan had expected.
Still, Roan kept his blank expression and his lack of emotions. He just let all the shadow beings enter his body and try to attack his soul.
[This won’t do. There are way too many. We knew this place was overwhelmed with them, but I didn’t expect them to be this numerous,] Sister Orb said.
Rean narrowed his eyes. "Will he be okay?"
[The system is reaching its limit. It would be better to exit the Spatial Tunnel ahead of time. There is no need to go all the way in a single shot.]
"But then we don’t know if we will appear somewhere where the shadow beings would cause trouble," Rean didn’t want that.
’It will be meaningless if I get to the destination with my soul destroyed.’ Roan wasn’t willing to risk his life just so he wouldn’t cause trouble to the devils, though. ’We are coming out. Then you bunch can come out and kill the shadows before they escape to other places. Kentucky will focus on closing the Spatial Gate as planned. Just build another formation after that, and once the system recovers, we will resume our journey.’
"Sigh..." Rean nodded. "Since that’s the only way, open an exit."
It seemed like a long time, but all of that lasted only fifteen seconds. In fact, Roan could have made a Spatial Gate that would bring them there in less than ten. It’s just that the entrance to the Spatial Gate would be way too big, which also meant way too powerful shadows would have come out, something Rean’s formation wouldn’t be able to stop.
In any case, if they had gone all the way at once with this Spatial Tunnel, the trip itself would have taken slightly over forty seconds in the Spatial Tunnel. It wasn’t bad at all. Nonetheless, Roan was forced to come out before reaching even halfway.
Roan stopped in the middle of the transfer, making another cutting motion with his hand to open an exit to who knows where. All he knew was that it would be somewhere on the way to Frutuo Region. However...
*Bzzz!*
His spatial move bounced back, ancient runes shining where the exit of the Spatial Tunnel should have appeared. Roan narrowed his eyes, but he quickly controlled himself to not let any emotions surface. Obviously, he tried to cut open an exit again, just for the same result to occur.
[Now that I think about it...] Sister Orb spoke as a foreboding feeling grew. [Since the shadow beings are sealed behind the fabric of space and can’t leave on their own, it is likely because the insides must be sealed for those trying to make their way out, don’t you think?]
Rean and the others bitterly smiled inside the Celestial Soul Dimensional Realm. "Well... fuck!"
