Chapter 4419: A Sharp Edge

In the Seven-Colored Phoenix Upper Realm, Zenflame Clan’s Territory.

In a secluded room, Kerez Zenflame received a letter that was carried through a set of secret and concealed systems.

He took it, opened it with grace, and read through the content.

Heaving a breath, he looked towards the beautiful woman in front of him who could entrance nearly any male.

The woman seated before Kerez Zenflame was like a shadow of a beguiling dream. Her dark elegance seemed to glimmer under the chamber’s moody lighting. Her black robe clung to her voluptuous figure with effortless grace, the fabric subtly embroidered with faint iridescent patterns that shimmered in hues of seven colors.

Her skin was pale with an otherworldly luster, like moonlight caressing obsidian. Midnight-black hair flowed down her back in silky waves, ending in colorful streaks of phoenix plumage- reds, violets, and golds. Her eyes were bewitching, one a deep amethyst, the other a radiant amber.

Long, delicate lashes framed her gaze, and her lips were the color of cherries, full and slightly parted in an expression both aloof and enticing. At her temples, faint traces of dark feathers peeked through her hair, indicating that she had a Dark Phoenix origin in the past, while a crown-like crest of seven-hued flame-like feathers occasionally flickered to life behind her head, vanishing the next instant.

Despite her beauty, there was something untamed about her. Her lips curled into a dangerous smile.

“How’d it go?” Her voice echoed seductively.

Still, Kerez Zenflame looked unshaken. He opened his mouth.

“According to my sources, the Divine Emperor of Death thwarted everything that was thrown at him. In other words, he didn’t incur a single loss. Moreover, it seems that he may have caught onto me because Realm Master Warren Auraflame may have talked about me to the Divine Emperor of Death using soul transmission. There were reports of people having witnessed them exchanging soul transmissions.”

“Mhm~” She nodded, “Seems like you have messed up badly. You shouldn’t have trusted them. Should I give you a hand?”

“No, stay hidden.”

Kerez Zenflame’s voice was dominating. Still, the woman didn’t seem perturbed, having a faint smile on her face that was full of nonchalance.

“Are you worried that the officials will find me, an outsider?” She leaned onto the table, looking at him with a mesmerized gaze.

“You have your uses as a denizen from the Divine Phoenix Greater Realm. It would be foolish of me to expose you at this stage.”

The woman simply smiled before leaning back and waving her sleeve, indicating for him to continue.

“The most important thing is about the World Spirit Phoenix Blessing that occurred-”

“What!?”

The woman, who was full of herself, abruptly stood up and looked at him like she was seeing a ghost, “What did you say?”

Kerez Zenflame creased his brows, having never seen her lose her cool, even when he bedded her.

“I said the World Spirit Phoenix Blessing that occurred in the Whispering Wildlands Peninsula fell on the Divine Emperor of Death and Lea Weiss, the bride.”

“What- there’s no way it could be them. One of them is an Anarchic Divergent, no?”

“Yes.”

Kerez Zenflame helplessly said to her astonishment.

“If that’s true, then this situation is unprecedented. I must report back to my power. If I am the first to report, then we will receive untold riches. Furthermore, the Mystic Diviners of my power should already be aware that this phenomenon took place. They will send people across the realms to find the source. We must act first.”

The woman said, causing Kerez Zenflame to narrow his brows.

“What is the result of this action if all goes well?”

“That…” She thought before answering, “The Divine Phoenix Greater Realm would most likely kill the Divine Emperor of Death. The phoenix Heaven’s Warriors there surely wouldn’t agree to give him protection, much less ignore him, so his end result would be death. As for the woman called Lea Weiss, I’m not sure, but they will first bring her and think what to do with her later. After all, it seems that last time, things didn’t go well when they found a person with this phenomenon. Mmph~ It’s infuriating how this never nearly happens in our realm. Perhaps one of the conditions for this phenomenon to occur is to be as far away from the Divine Phoenix Holy Lands as possible.”

Kerez Zenflame nodded slowly, seeing that it would be possible for that condition to exist if it met other requirements.

Nonetheless, it wasn’t important to him. He opened his mouth.

“What if the woman is also a Divergent?”

“…!”

The woman raised her brows, “How many Divergents could he have as wives or allies? That is a ridiculous notion.”

“What if she is?” He pressed on.

The woman pursed her lips, seemingly considering what the Divine Phoenix Greater Realm might do.

“If she is a Divergent, then they would most likely kill her to avoid a bad future for the Divine Phoenix Greater Realm. Her presence may be a curse rather than a blessing if she’s a Divergent. In that case, they could only arrive at the conclusion that the ancient phoenix spirit wants them all to die, so they would go against its teachings, even trying to extract that blessing from her if possible.”

Kerez Zenflame chuckled, “You can see nearly everything. That’s what I like about you.”

He leaned back and heaved a sigh.

“My father was also smart but foolish in some cases. He pursued absolute fire and nirvanic control, wanting to become a perfect and more powerful Fire Phoenix that would match the Seven-Colored Phoenix. However, I did not approve. I told him that all he needed to do if he wanted nirvanic flame supremacy was to suppress the other five attributes of the seven and focus on eating fire and nirvanic-attributed treasures alone. However, he didn’t listen and continued on his research and staying in that desolate place to see the end of the Candidacy with his own eyes.”

“As for my most prominent son back then, Killian… I didn’t know him much since he was the youngest.”

He paused, his expression turning cold, “Regardless, they are my family, and anyone who dares to harm them will pay the price. I will get in touch with those villains once again. As for you, do as you see fit. The Divine Phoenix Greater Realm may not be able to send their forces here but they could certainly pressure the Divine Emperor of Death into making foolish decisions. That’s when I will strike, cleanly and fatally where he would not be able to moreover one bit.”

“Careful. Rumors are that he could not die. Devise a way to seal him first.”

“Or I could have others do it and still earn a name for myself.”

The two of them looked at each other smugly, full of romance.
