Chapter 4421: Kicked Out?
Chapter 4421: Kicked Out?
“Uwa~”
In an icy place, a woman suddenly cried out as though she was falling.
She really was falling. However, she safely landed on the ground, turning to look at the huge gates behind her that didn’t open nor close but opened a pathway to a secret realm.
“You-!”
She threw her finger at it, pointing like she had some grievances to address. But eventually, she just folded her hands and pouted, appearing to think about something else.
“You do not belong here.” A vague, misty voice emerged from beyond the gate, “You have not adapted to the teachings of the Forsaken Yin. Your heart is in disarray, filled with longing and worship of the mundane. It wouldn’t do well for you to continue cultivating the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual with that kind of character. Your talent is great for you to have reached the final trial, but I cannot allow you to inherit the Forsaken Yin Lotus Divine Art. You will not only fail but also sever our last lifeline to survive. Leave, brave soul Natalya.”
“Brave soul, my ass~” You knew I was going to complete the last trial, so you evicted me. What kind of inheritance spirit are you for you to be this biased?”
Natalya fumed.
“I didn’t. You don’t need to believe me. If you think the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual at the Empyrean Grade was gruesome, requiring one to forget oneself, then in the next grade, it would be even more challenging and grueling. I simply saw that you are filled with extra thoughts to be successful in this endeavor.”
“But didn’t I cultivate the Empyrean Grade Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual? See, I totally skipped the part where I needed to forget myself and still became an Empyrean~”
“…”
The spirit went silent.
If there was its shape, one might be able to see its cheeks twitch.
“Because of it- your energy is strange. It is not one I’m familiar with.”
“Still,” Natalya sounded smug, “Aren’t I still alive with no problems in my cultivation? It’s flawless.”
“You’re underestimating the manual. Things won’t go that way in the next grade. The sacrifice you need to make will be much greater. This is a manual that forsakes everything, even your own soul, so for you to change it as you please instead of following the instructions, you will find yourself melting like snow under the heat of the changes.”
“No! I don’t believe that is the true essence of this manual!” Natalya argued, “The true-”
“Foolish disciple~”
But before she could continue, a gust of wind blew over her, directly sending her away thousands of kilometers away.
From a mound of snow, Natalya’s head peeked out. She stood up and patted her robe, ridding herself of the snow before heaving a huge sigh.
“What a pity~
She heaved a hot breath amidst the cold before walking to another place where she had last seen her people.
Natalya trudged through the knee-deep snow, her boots crunching against the hardened frost below. The frigid wind striking across her body howled around her like the cries of ancient ghosts, yet her body remained warm, wrapped in the silvery frost-resistant robe stitched with lotus patterns.
Despite being expelled, there was no fear or despair in her heart. There was only some hint of frustration and an unyielding determination to finish things here before returning.
Her mind was full of a blonde-haired man. She was unable to take him off her mind.
Perhaps that was what got her kicked out.
Regardless, the icy world around her stretched endlessly. Glaciers the size of mountains glinted under a pale sun, and frost-covered trees shimmered like crystal sculptures. Ice lilies bloomed in frozen ponds, glowing softly with spiritual energy, and above her, large snowflakes drifted as if suspended in time, refusing to fall. They were almost like decorations in an artificial ice chamber.
Time Laws were practically embedded in these snowflake hailstones.
“This place… still has many inheritances,” Natalya murmured, looking around, “Even if I was kicked out, I’m still inside the Nine Yin Petal Secret Realm.”
She stopped for a moment, letting her soul sense extend. It drudged through the environment slowly, but as it expanded, it gained more traction, becoming faster and infusing with the world. A moment later, her eyes flickered.
“…Found her.”
With a graceful leap, she vanished into a trail of cold mist, reappearing atop a jagged ice ridge several kilometers away. There, embedded within a crystalline cliff face, there were numerous marks etched out of it like someone had fun cutting down a mountain but still couldn’t make much progress.
In front of it sat a white-robed beauty whose countenance was calm and flawless.
Her gaze was on the wall for seemingly an eternity.
“A self-inflicted punishment…?”
Natalya inclined her head in doubt as she saw Tanya still comprehend the essence behind the sword strokes left by an ancestor of the Forsaken Yin Sect. It was a sword mark left behind by a Peak Empyrean, and the mysteries behind it were no less than that of an Exalt’s level of Law Intent.
“Ancestor Forgotten Yin Petal was certainly a master of Sword Laws while still practicing the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual. Unfortunately, it is said that she passed away because she was unable to let go of the sword and made a mistake in her Law Merge to the next stage, the backlash from the manual killing her…”
Natalya remembered the hearsay from the other disciples when they first came here.
At that time, she didn’t expect this ancestor to be so special. Considering Tanya stayed here for a long time, Natalya felt like this ancestor was indeed a great ice-sword expert.
Abruptly, she turned to look behind and saw Bing Luli walking in.
“I was just about done with the third inheritance I took part in. Are you also done, Natalya?”
“That-”
Natalya’s cheeks burned, “I was kicked out…”
“Kicked out!?”
Bing Luli’s eyes widened in shock, “Then is this expedition a failure?”
“Not really~”
Natalya shrugged, “Although I hate not to return as soon as possible from this vexing secret realm, we cannot leave since the secret realm is currently closed until the true inheritance is over. There are more opportunities here for water, ice, yin, and illusion cultivators. However, I still want the Forsaken Yin Lotus Manual, so I’ll naturally do what our family does- plunder~”
She reached out her hand, nearly grasping Bing Luli’s voluptuous bosoms.
