Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4726 Bloody Lair

Chapter 4726  Bloody Lair

Davis felt a sharp chill on his back, prompting him to glance back, but all he could see was the vague silhouette of the Myriad Coiling Spirit Peak that allowed them to at least tell the direction they were roaming around. The ghostly yin fog was quite the hassle, but the toxic blood poison air was also infuriating, although it failed to penetrate his pores.

He returned his gaze nonchalantly and continued to lead.

His perception of danger was already ringing alarm bells. It remained for a few seconds before it disappeared again.

'The blood carnage Realm Calamity still chose not to attack now…' Davis imagined, "It certainly has a murderous instinct and a primal urge to gather blood. Hmm… it could likely tell how delicious I am with my Chaotic Genesis Physique, a prime feast…'

He wondered if its target switched to him the moment he was caught in its sight for the first time. It realized how powerful he was with his punch, recognizing him for his extraordinary power.

Davis also didn't have the idea of retreating after coming this far. If he were its prey, then he was intent on turning it around and becoming the hunter.

'Whatever it got at the core region would definitely be worth the trip…'

Davis returned his gaze forward, his steps deliberate and measured as he delved deeper into the grotesque scarlet landscape. The ground beneath him no longer bore any resemblance to nature but squelched with a damp, pulsing texture, as if veins had taken root in the soil and were feeding from the very air. A faint rhythm beat underfoot, irregular and unnerving, echoing like a heartbeat muffled beneath layers of congealed flesh.

Fairy Thunderblaze suddenly made a sound of disgust. She opted to fly despite the energy that dispersed out of her.

She also realized that they were already inside the calamity's maw, yet it was still luring them in further. Since the other party was feigning, she no longer bothered to fully conceal herself. The faint arcs of golden divine lightning around her shoulders burned away any drifting scarlet toxic haze that came too close. Her expression was grave, her eyes reflecting the twisted landscape before them.

Yet, she didn't feel the slightest bit afraid as she watched the firm back clad in a purple robe.

She couldn't detect any hesitation in his moves at all, making her think he had big guts.

Davis crouched slightly and pressed his palm once again on the fleshy ground. It pulsed faintly, slow but steady, releasing a wave of energy that seemed to listen before retracting, as though aware of his touch.

He stood up straight and continued.

Eventually, they came across a fleshly wall. They were like entrances to arteries, pulsing and quaking.

"Time to head back." Lady Thunderwraith said.

"You can leave if you want to." Davis waved his hand, dismissing her.

Lady Thunderwraith lamented why she had to follow them all the way here before continuing forwards. If she turned back now, she knew she might be targeted by those bloody giants. As much as she wished that her ghostly appearance was being ignored, she didn't feel it was the case anymore.

This creature was luring them in, and anything that would disturb its mission would cause it to react wildly.

Davis let out a quiet chuckle, the sound quickly swallowed by the oppressive pounding of the blood lair. The walls ahead, if they could be called walls, began to close in, forming a narrow passage lined with strands of pulsating, vein-like tissue. Thick drops of blood rolled from above, hissing faintly when they struck the ground. Each droplet carried a concentrated poisonous essence, enough to kill a Peak Stage Immortal Emperor easily.

Davis felt like he had entered a fleshly hell that could only be seen in some horror games.

The deeper they went, the more the air trembled. The faint drumming of a heartbeat became louder now, and something in that rhythm made Davis feel sick to the stomach.

"Careful… It's indeed a being that can copy others…"

Davis adjusted his breathing, recalling this feeling from the time he faced the doppelganger of the formation created by the World Master in the Nine-Treasured Immortal Ordeal Palace.

Fairy Thunderblaze nodded. She brought out the Divine Scarlet Roar Flameseed from her dantian and made it float, instantly causing the toxic blood air around them to evaporate as well as curb the calamity from affecting their heart.

The moment she brought it out, Davis felt the pressure slightly fade.

'Incredible… it sees a new threat and chooses to retreat again to gain more information…'

Davis waited for it to make a move, but it retreated.

They continued through many twists and turns.

As he turned a bend, the bloody corridor opened into a vast hollow cavern. Gigantic, fleshly walls curved outward like the interior of an enormous organ.

They even suspected that they had unknowingly entered its stomach, waiting to be digested.

However, that didn't seem to be the case as their gazes landed at the center where a colossal sphere of blood was slowly rotating, tethered to the ceiling and floor by vein-like tendrils. These huge, bloody tendrils carried an immense amount of blood energy and seemed to be nurturing something as the bloody giants outside did.

The surge of crimson blood energy here was violently oppressive, but it emerged from the other side.

*Tat* *Tat*

The sound of footsteps echoed with a wet rhythm, each sound reverberating through the cavern as though its presence alone commanded the pulse of this grotesque lair. Veins along the fleshy walls flared with light in response, blood-crimson energy rushing through them like rivers of molten blood.

A three-meter-tall creature walked towards them, its face reminiscent of the blood giant. It possessed six arms like an asura and eight tentacles swatting over its back. It had no skin, only flesh, blood, and muscles from its outward appearance, but it carried an extremely oppressive force, causing the Davis and Fairy Thunderblaze's hearts to beat loudly as though it was going to explode.

The being's six arms flexed with disturbing precision, cords of muscle twisting and tightening as if restraining the power within. Its eight tentacles undulated behind it, dripping thick drops of viscous red liquid that hissed where they landed, corroding the ground.

The creature halted about twenty meters away. Its head twitched once… twice, before its jaw unhinged unnaturally wide, splitting from ear to ear. A guttural sound rolled out.

"Welcome… humans. I've been waiting…" It spoke, enunciating the Sky Word Language as though it were greatly familiar with it.

The three of them shuddered. They had never seen or even heard of a Realm Calamity talk!

"Are you the main body?" Davis instantly asked, feeling as though he was going to faint with how badly his heart was palpitating.

The feeling of being cornered and danger alarms ringing all over his cells was extreme.

"Yes." The Blood Realm Calamity responded with that strange, evil grin, "You are all going to become nourishment for my true advancement. Rejoice, for we shall all become one and bring ruin to the entire world."

Its blood energy radiated, making Fairy Thunderblaze suck in a cold breath that fully smelt like the scent of iron. She inwardly felt it was over since she could sense that this Empyrean Stage Realm Calamity was at Level Eight Empyrean Stage, yet its prowess was seven levels higher!

It was only four levels away from being considered an Exalt! This creature could be considered a Half-Step Exalt!

Suddenly, the Blood Realm Calamity scowled as its gaze fell on Lady Thunderwraith.

"You give no essence. You are not needed."

It raised its hand and pointed towards her, causing the tentacles to shoot towards her.

Lady Thunderwraith's pale face turned aghast.

The pressure exuded by this bloody monster was so high that she didn't feel like she could move, much less dodge. However, a golden gourd emerged from the side, and lightning-like vines shot out, intercepting the bloody tentacles.

Fairy Thunderblaze's trump cards, the Divine Thundervine Tempest Gourd and Divine Scarlet Roar Flameseed, appeared at this moment. She used these resources of nature modified with the imprint of the suspected Supremes as a defensive shield at this moment.

*Bang!~*

The Divine Thundervine Tempest Gourd received a big hit and was knocked out of Fairy Thunderblaze's control. The Divine Scarlet Roar Flameseed still maintained its protective layer of scarlet flames. Gritting her teeth, she shouted.

"Now!"

Davis appeared near the Blood Realm Calamity. His skin was nearly painted silver, flourishing like metal.

Grand Chaos Silver Body!

His fist pulled back, swirling with two different kinds of energies combining to create a tremor within the blood lair, a juxtaposition between chaos and destruction, surged out with the greatest force he could muster.

All the natural forces that held back the increase in power for a mere Immortal Emperor shattered in front of the fist as it was unleashed.

Silvery-crimson chaos-destruction energy swirled out and crushed the air before him as it exploded. The destruction rapidly expanded and engulfed the Blood Realm Calamity, causing the blood on its surface to explode as it was sent flying. It even blocked the attack by trying to guard against it with six crossed arms turning into a giant shield.

Still, he was faster, landing the punch within and attacking its body.

Davis's pupils dilated. Even with this terrifying attack that topped twenty-six levels higher, he was unable to make it completely explode in one strike.

Nonetheless, he achieved his goal as he stretched out his hand and grabbed its karmic thread, intending to sever its connection with the other blood monsters so that it couldn't escape! Otherwise, even using the treasures on him would prove futile!
