Chapter 6809: You’re Making A Mistake
Chapter 6809: You’re Making A Mistake
Both Blaze Ancestor and Thunder Emperor immediately knew Li Qiye had the shrine.
Of course, the city lord knew full well a mortal couldn’t get away from actual cultivators. This was just a fool’s fantasy.
Li Qiye, on the other hand, smiled at the two cultivators. This naturally surprised them.
They noticed a mortal being able to withstand the pressure of an ancient ancestor. Something didn’t feel right.
“You have the shrine on you?” Blaze Ancestor asked.
“That’s right.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Take it out.” The ancestor ordered.
“Why should I?” Li Qiye said casually.
Blaze Ancestor and Thunder Emperor were caught off guard by his nonchalant attitude. As for the city lord, his anxiety couldn’t be higher.
“Because I command you.” Blaze became irritated but still exercised patience toward a mortal.
“You are not qualified.” Li Qiye smiled.
The listeners didn’t know how to react. As for the city lord, he only wanted Li Qiye to get away with the shrine, not for him to offend the ancestor.
Blaze’s expression darkened. As a famous figure in Golden Lamp, being insulted by a mortal was unacceptable.
“Such impudence cannot go unpunished.” A big shot behind him attempted to capture Li Qiye with an energy wave.
“Buzz.” A lightning bolt nullified it.
“Thunder, what are you doing?” The big shot didn’t appreciate this.
“It is never the time for internal conflict in Golden Lamp.” The emperor said.
“That’s true, but this person does not respect his superior and deserves to be punished.” The big shot said.
“That is a matter for later. Right now, the most important issue is our kingdom accepting Tinyleaf’s call for help.” She said while staring at Li Qiye with a strange look.
The crowd couldn’t help but appreciate her kindness and willingness to take them in. Others might not have accepted them.
“That’s fine, but reveal the shrine first.” The big shot said.
“I disagree because it is akin to robbery. Although we struggle to live in Stygian, it doesn’t mean we are living a borrowed life. Our hearts should yearn for the light, doing otherwise makes us no different from Devouring Alliance.” She said.
She had no obligation to protect Tinyleaf, yet still stepped forward, going so far as to oppose Blaze Ancestor. This was a testament to her dedication to righteousness and moral integrity.
The big shot paused because she held the moral high ground. He glanced over at Blaze Ancestor, awaiting an order.
“It is not that I covet your shrine, I just wish to take a look because it might be the reason for Frenzy’s invasion.” Blaze frowned; his eyes went from the emperor to Li Qiye.
“You won’t be able to notice anything, there’s no point.” Li Qiye shook his head.
The more Li Qiye spoke, the more nervous the city lord and his people became. Did he need to be so direct and offensive each time?
The emperor couldn’t tell whether this mortal was foolish or just a man incapable of minding his words. All in all, it made no sense to her.
“How would you know that?” Blaze Ancestor became impatient and sent his aura surging toward Li Qiye.
“You mustn’t, Ancestor!” Thunder’s aura crashed against his aura like tidal waves.
“Bam!” She staggered backward, feeling her vitality churning.
He had shown mercy or that exchange alone would have grievously injured her.
“Thunder, you’re making a mistake.” He didn’t appreciate her lack of cooperation.
“Ancestor, we must hold firm to our principles since we are the final hope of Stygian. If we stand for nothing, we will fall despite our growing power and will be swallowed by the darkness, just like those before us.” She said.
“I merely wish to take a look.” He said with a displeased tone.
“What comes after taking a look? If Frenzy truly came for it, what would be your next step?” Li Qiye asked: “Would you offer it to them in exchange for safety?”
“Not your turn to speak!” The big shot sent another wave of energy, only to be repelled by the emperor’s spear.
“Ancestor, what will you do if this is true?” She asked.
