Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 809: Domino Effect

Chapter 809: Domino Effect

Cedric truly has no idea what he unleashed when he gave his cloning technique to the councillors.

He also has no idea how much he changed the entirety of the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm as a whole by doing this.

Let’s take Gibson, for example…

After helping Patricia and Nicholas build their new seclusion rooms, ones that can endure the potential outburst of Origin Laws, he wasted no time getting to work.

He left a clone behind the council to deal with his regular duties as a councillor—the paperwork, meetings, and all that.

As for his real self, he wore a disguise and made his way to Dimensional Gap. More specifically, where the Space Marines were stationed.

Upon arriving there, he was met with the scene of carnage. The Space Marines have been busy, always have been, dealing with a relentless tide of hordes. Turrets, ships, cannons…all manner of weaponry lit up the dark space, blowing up bugs to nihility. They even sent out small groups to scout or reinforce some areas of the territory.

Gibson felt pity for them. The Space Marines had been working so hard to defend against the unceasing tide of bugs and other creatures trying to breach their defenses.

He won’t admit this out loud, but they have truly neglected these men. But now that he’s here, he’s determined to change this miserable state they’re in.

His arrival was welcomed by the Space Marines. They didn’t know who he was since he’s in a disguise, but since he’s carrying the councillor’s insignia, his authority supersedes theirs automatically.

Gibson wasted no time. He began updating and upgrading the defense grids and equipment. With his technological prowess and nigh-limitless resources available, doing all of this was practically a breeze for him.

In a single week since he came, the performance of the front-line Space Marines has improved by 10%.

Don’t underestimate that improvement. In a battlefield like this, even a 1% improvement was massive.

But Gibson was far from satisfied with just these. He was determined to truly make a difference with his time here, so he didn’t just stop with the weapons.

The ships, the equipment of the space marines themselves, the technology they’re using, and hell, even the entire base itself, were upgraded.

It took him only a single year to do all of this. And the best part? The defenses didn’t falter even in the middle of the upgrade. It held and improved steadily, especially once the upgrades were done.

Gibson did it all by himself. The iron-blooded officers of the Space Marines could only make way for him because with the councillor’s insignia, he directly outranks all of them.

What made Gibson mad was the leeches who had been sabotaging the Space Marines.

Yes, there were evil and greedy people who managed to worm their way in here. It wasn’t all that surprising since they have truly neglected this area, and the Space Marines have always needed all the help they can receive.

Whether they like it or not, they have to concede for the sake of the greater good. Their little machinations, plots, and greed were nothing compared to the real threat humanity was facing on the front lines.

They were a cancer, a tumor, to the Space Marines, but their resources and manpower also helped stabilize the army somewhat. And for the sake of the race, that’s a fair deal.

But it’s certainly not something that the Human Council wants to see.

Alas, the council has its hands full too. And once the bad people started taking control, there was little others could do to stop them. The reports have been brought under their control, meaning that the narrative also fell under their control.

This is why the council has been blindsided by what’s happening here.

But since Gibson arrived, unannounced and wielding greater authority than everybody else here, they were caught with their pants down. They had no time to clean up their mess or control the scene to make them appear shiny and flawless.

Actually, even if Gibson announced his arrival, there’s no way he could hide their footprints from him. With how outdated the tech here was, he could easily access everything that they’re hiding.

Regardless, now that he had seen this in person, Gibson bared his fangs.

He showed them no mercy or compromise. He called everybody to a meeting, revealed what he found out, and directly executed the relevant party.

There were no trials, no discussions, and no bargaining. He showed up, showed what they did, and killed the sinners right there and then.

If this happened in other places, they might have been able to force a trial first. But this was the Space Marines. Rules are expected to be strict and uncompromising.

Gibson had no qualms about using them as an example for others. The Space Marines don’t take prisoners, and they offer no dignity to those who are tarnishing their honor.

He didn’t kill all of them, though. Only their leaders. Their subordinates were offered a choice: wear an obedience collar or die standing. No in-between. Gibson didn’t give them much time to think, either.

Gibson’s actions rattled the entire base. It plunged all the relevant parties into a nightmare and rejuvenated the spirit of the suppressed soldiers.

This cleansing took a whole other year to complete. But by the time Gibson was done, the Space Marines had been revived to what they should’ve been in the first place, and they were even better than before.

The bugs still came in waves, but the updated and upgraded weaponry and means of the Space Marines no longer struggled too much with them, giving the soldiers an easier time while on duty.

After doing all of this, Gibson stayed. His next task is to upgrade the defenses against the Bug Empress herself. This one is going to take much longer than his previous work, so he better get started now.

Berk doesn’t just collect strange creatures to breed them and treat them as his children.

He already has a lot, so he’s very picky with them. The creatures that could catch his eye were really special ones.

Berk’s real duty is to patrol the entire chaos realm to see if other creatures are planning to have an uprising or trying to kill humanity from within.

Humans might be the creatures that ruled this chaos realm, but that doesn’t mean that they’re the only ones here.

There was no lack of strange species or races that plan on multiplying and spreading their influence as far as they can. There had been many times when their ambition got a little too big for their abilities, and their arrogance reached the heavens themselves.

That’s when Berk appears to remind them who’s truly the top dog in this kennel.

Call me racist or something else, but becoming a supreme race can’t be achieved through peace and coexistence.

Berk does have a soft spot for strange creatures, but they’d be testing his patience if they started thinking that they could replace humanity as the main race of this chaos realm.

He has ’controlled’ many tribes throughout his tenure as a councillor, and Berk continues to do so.

Now, with clones to control, this task becomes way easier. Furthermore, he now has more time to search for new creatures to add to his collection.

While Berk was doing his usual patrols, Urek was having the time of his life trolling the Horde.

He had already sent two clones to the Dimensional Gap, each wearing their own disguise. Unlike Gibson, he didn’t go to the Space Marines. Instead, he was headed straight to the camps of the Horde.

Urek’s clones would appear before them unannounced and plunge them all under an illusion, meticulously crafted ones, at that.

Illusions that made them believe that they’re hearing orders from their superiors that never happened. Which, more often than not, caused conflicts and infighting.

Urek, as old and dignified as he is now, had always been a prankster at heart. He was the most devious, infuriating, unreasonable, and irritating guy to his enemies, especially with those illusions of his.

Although he’s calmer now, his mischievous streak was never held back when it comes to his enemies.

And to Urek, nothing’s more hilarious than seeing the Horde destroy each other because of the misunderstanding he caused.

Hey, it’s not his fault that they’re stupid, alright. Who made them susceptible to illusions? Not him, that’s for sure.

And after the painful realization that he might never reach the peak of life evolution in this lifetime, trolling with the Horde brought him great comfort and joy.

It doesn’t matter if he couldn’t become a Primal Origin Lifeform anymore. So long as he could continue pranking the Horde, that’s more than enough for him.

In the past, the councillors were so occupied by their work that they didn’t have much time to pursue what they really wanted to do.

But equipped with the clones? They found their schedules free, and with that freedom, they are unleashed to the world once more.

And all of this was because Cedric shared his cloning technique with them.

Funny how fate works, sometimes…
