Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 825: Origin Heaven’s Inheritance

Chapter 825: Origin Heaven’s Inheritance

Cedric wasn’t dumb enough to ignore Gabriel’s warnings…

He’s in a strange land surrounded by strange people and places. He’s out of his element here. And he wasn’t stupid enough to flaunt his strength here. Everything he encountered had been strange so far, but not really threatening enough for him to force his way out or kill every moving thing he saw.

Past the gates, the scene changed.

The first thing Cedric discovered was the raw and primal atmosphere. The air was charged by dense and heavy concept laws, so much so that he could feel it in his fingertips. Moreover, it’s not just about the weight and density; there’s an underlying difference.

There’s a sense of completeness in here that made the atmosphere unique.

As he followed Gabriel, he continued looking around. He saw stone houses along the way, crude and almost decrepit. Most are abandoned or ruined, but he could tell that they were once used.

More and more of these stone houses appeared the closer they got to the center of the continent. The atmosphere also became increasingly more dense and slightly unruly.

Then, at some point, they stopped.

Cedric looked up and saw a strange sight before him. At the center of the continent, there seemed to be a curtain that hid what’s on the other side. It couldn’t be seen through; it twisted the light into a blurry mess, something that even his divine eyes couldn’t see through.

“Come, let’s go,” Gabriel told him.

And so, both of them walked through that blurry curtain. They passed through it, and the moment they did, Cedric immediately sensed a profound shift in the atmosphere.

He was stunned. Profound law insights surged to him willingly as if greeting him. Some of them he’s familiar with; the majority were a mystery, but it’s a start at least.

Cedric couldn’t help it. He inhaled sharply and kept his focus sharp. He kept himself loose, allowing the surge to come to him as they pleased, but not to the point that he’d lose his mind over them.

He could shut it out if it gets too much, but Cedric was quite reluctant to do that because this kind of situation doesn’t happen often. This was a massive opportunity on its own; how could he not do his best to take advantage of it?

“How is it? Awesome, right?”

Cedric looked at Gabriel, who’s grinning at him widely.

“A place where it’s the concept law insights that come to you instead of you chasing them…where in the world would you see such a thing? This kind of thing is only possible here, at the Origin Heaven Continent.”

“The best part? So long as you’re allowed to remain here, you can come here at any given moment. The houses you see outside? Those were used as crude seclusion chambers. There’s only so much one can swallow without digesting, after all. And sure, you can do that here, but with how charged and chaotic the environment is, it’s inadvisable. So most people go outside to digest and consolidate their insights.”

Hearing his explanation made Cedric understand why there were poorly built houses outside. Because as it turns out, they weren’t trying to build a home, just a shelter to use temporarily. .

Also, Cedric finally saw other people aside from the two of them.

Most were human, but a few were from other races. Some he’d seen often; others were rare creatures. There were even some whom he never saw or heard of before.

No one was fighting. They’re all quiet; most are sitting down, contemplating or receiving more law insights.

Cedric could even see some people that are still alive but had been covered in dust or turned into statues, quite possibly from staying still for so long.

Nobody was wasting their time with some petty squabbles. They were focused on comprehending the secrets of the world, not wanting to miss even a single second if they could.

“Are my 10 days ticking down now?” he asked.

“No.” Gabriel shook his head. “We’re only at the outer perimeter of the inheritance site. You’d have to go deeper.”

Then, Gabriel took out a jade slip and passed it to Cedric, saying, “This is as far as I go; I have no business there, so I can’t go.”

“This contains what you’d see there so you can use your time properly. Read it carefully and take some time to think before making your choice.”

“For now, you can stay on this continent for an indefinite period of time. But once you use your allocated time in the core inheritance site, your fight begins.”

“All other details that you must know are included in this jade slip. So again, read them carefully and follow the rules. I will not be held responsible for your death in case you didn’t adhere to the rules because I’ve already warned you as much as I possibly can, alright?”

“It’s nice meeting you, Cedric. I’d love to talk more, but I have other responsibilities to take care of. Remember, read and memorize the rules, follow them, and you’ll be fine.”

After saying this, Gabriel promptly disappeared before Cedric’s eyes. He didn’t blink; the man just disappeared like he’d never been there.

Cedric didn’t dwell on it too much. Although Gabriel had been a nice guide, he understood that he won’t stay around forever to hold his hand through everything.

His eyes landed on the jade slip he received. He lifted it before his forehead and immersed his consciousness in it.

A wave of information gushed into his mind. Sets of jumbled words that didn’t make sense at first but later rearranged themselves into something recognizable.

“Phew!” Cedric sighed after digesting the information he just received.

His eyes then had a complex look as he stared at the scenery from a distance. At first glance, there seemed to be nothing there, but Cedric knew better.

The true core inheritance of this place is hidden there, and his eyes, for all of their abilities, couldn’t see through it no matter how hard he tried.

It’s not that surprising anymore. This place was wrapped in mystery, and Cedric understood that his eyes didn’t give him omnipotence.

But through the information he got from the jade slip, he’s certain that it’s there, and it’s waiting for him.

’The Origin Heaven Tablets.’ These were the true inheritance of this place.

Cedric actually found it a little funny, because not too long ago, he had this idea of recording his insights using Timeless God Stones. He didn’t think much of it. He thought that it’s just for compiling his insights so that one day, his descendants might benefit from it.

Well, it seems that he wasn’t alone in this idea.

The Origin Heaven Tablets were the same thing as he did. The only difference was his were just compilations of what he knew, while these were from their creators.

More importantly, each Origin Heaven Tablet contains a complete Origin Law. One that people here can choose to comprehend using the time allotment they receive as rewards.

This was huge. Massive, even.

Nothing of this sort existed anywhere in the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm. Nothing. Or else, why would the Human Sovereigns struggle on their own so much?

Again, there is one tablet for each Origin Law there is.

And according to the information on the jade slip, each tablet has a creator. Meaning that at some point in the past, there were people who mastered a complete origin law and decided to pour everything they knew onto a stone tablet and left it here for others to comprehend.

This opportunity was, technically, open for everybody.

And now, Cedric has a chance.

But he’s in no rush. Because, like Gabriel said, the moment he used his allotted time to comprehend the stele, the fight for his right to remain here also began.

However, he could postpone that. He just needs to stay away from that place, and he could remain here for an indefinite period of time.

Thinking that he could just stay here and hope to comprehend origin laws without using the allotted time would be wrong.

That’s not going to happen. Even though the law insights here constantly surge and come to him willingly, he will never be baptized in the origin law without going there. It’s designed with that purpose.

Even his eyes can’t help him here, so there’s no use.

If he wants to gain the recognition of origin laws, the fastest and most surefire way to do so would be to use his time allotment and comprehend one of the Origin Heaven Tablets.

Sure, his main body in the Heavenly Star Chaos Realm can do the same, but that has risk, and he’d have to spend so much time to do that.

Here, the path is already there. He just needs to see it and use it as a reference, making it an easy and safer option.

But again, he wasn’t in a hurry.

Because even though he can’t gain the recognition of origin laws here. It doesn’t mean he could comprehend law essences.

And it’s clear that he wasn’t alone in this idea.
