Knock, knock!
Suddenly, as I was thinking about various things, someone knocked at the door.
"Yes?"
I slowly and lazily made my way there, finding my maids, Acelina and Ismena, and also my father with them.
"Ah, Father!" I said, surprised.
"Good morning, my dear daughter. How are you today? Feeling alright? You slept like a log! Yesterday was sure a tiring day, huh?" he asked, hugging me.
"Ah yeah..." I nodded. "I wanted to rest for a little more if possible, if that's alright."
"It is. Don't worry. I came with your maids here to tell you some great news!" he said. "I know we had our difficulties yesterday, but this surely will make you happier. Guess what!"
"Eh?" I wondered.
"Your mother's big sister is coming to visit!" he said happily. "She said she would stay here indefinitely because she didn't trust me with raising her sister's daughter. Hahaha! I couldn't really stop her. She was really... well, like I remember her."
"Wait, you mean my aunt?" I wondered. "Oh... I don't think I've ever met her."
"You did when you were just a little child," he said. "But it's natural if you don't remember anymore. She went away for a long while, but now she has decided to return... She's coming with her whole family, her two daughters, her grandson, and her butler. Nice, right? We need a bit more life here. This house is way too big and silent after all, haha!"
"I-I guess so?" I wondered. "So my aunt is coming with my... cousins?"
"Yes!" he nodded. "Isn't it nice? They're coming from Germany. Your mother's family originates from a large Dark Wood area known as Schwartzwald. Their great-grandfather was a Vampire, so everyone after his generation became Dhampirs like your mother."
"That's really nice... Um, wait a second. What's my aunt's name?" I asked, crossing my arms.
"You don't remember her, huh? It's her, your Aunt Agatheina!" he said, showing me a photo.
"Wait, Agatheina?!" I gasped. "And... Alice is my cousin?"
"Yeah, so you do remember her, huh?" he asked. "Jeanne is her youngest daughter. She had her a few years ago. Although they can do it the normal way, Agatheina and Alice's kids were born from the Dark Spirit Trees. Your mother was apparently born the same way. Incredible, right?"
"...Y-Yeah," I nodded. "Woah..."
So, two of my wives become my aunt and my cousin in this world? Whew, that sure is a big reveal, but it's nice that they're coming to live here though.
"Jonette is coming as well," Ismena said with a smile.
"She's our sister. We were all raised together under the Darkwood family," Acelina said. "I'm glad we're finally seeing her after all these years!"
"A-Ah! Yeah..." I nodded. "I'm so happy for all of us..." I forced a smile, which my father noticed. He quickly patted my shoulders.
"Calm down. I know it might seem like you've never met them before, but they are trustworthy people," he said. "I've known them since I met your mother after all."
"Huh, what about my grandparents?" I asked, wondering who they could be.
"Ah, your grandparents..." he said, rubbing his chin. His face quickly changed into one of slight concern and annoyance. "They... aren't as nice as your aunt."
"Huh?" I wondered. "Wait, so you know them? Who are they?"
"They... uh," he fell into silence. "Let's say they weren't that happy about my union with your mother back then."
"Wait, what? I had no idea. Were they grumpy about it?" I wondered.
"More than grumpy, they... well, they tried to bring your mother back to them. And then they fought me a couple of times," he sighed. "They are formidably strong."
"Oh..." I fell silent for a moment. "I wish I could see them though... Wait, how strong?"
"They are the oldest living members of your mother's clan," he said. "Your grandfather is the direct child of your ancestor who married a Vampire, giving your bloodline the power of Dhampirs. This actually went really well with the Darkwood Fae bloodline, making your clan much stronger."
"Huh..." I nodded. "And my grandma?"
"She's from an allied, albeit smaller, clan," he said. "She wasn't a Dhampir originally, but she was turned into one by your grandfather."
"Oooh, that sounds kind of romantic, don't you think?" I giggled.
"I... guess so," he said.
"From what clan is she?" I asked.
"They... I think they're called Grimroot Dryads," he said. "It's mostly a clan of only females."
"Oh, so my clan has males?" I wondered.
"Yes... You have four uncles, actually. I fought all four of them at some point to gain their favor," he said. "Your mother begged me not to kill them, so the fight was actually harder when I had to hold back a lot... Haha, good times."
"Four uncles?! Woah..." I wondered.
"And another aunt too," he said. "She's... I don't know where she is. She's the eldest daughter."
"Oh wow, the family's bigger than I thought, Father!" I said. "Why did you even move to Japan? You could've stayed there."
"Yeah, but they didn't want me there, so we moved," he said. "Japan was a nice place."
"Alright then, I guess," I nodded. "I guess I have no Japanese roots at all. Complete foreigner, huh?"
"Does that upset you?" he wondered, confused.
"Nah, not really," I said. "I was just a little surprised, that's all. But if I marry into a big Japanese clan... then our clan could also gain Japanese nationality and not just be invading territory and taking over it by force."
"Hmm... I never thought about that. I would never really force you to marry into any clan," he said. "I want you to be happy and find love in your own way... Though, quite honestly, I have little idea how mortals find love. I'm not saying you're a mortal, but you live like them. Like, for example, your mother loved me but... Do women like men or women? What about women? Do they like both, or are there other genders and sexualities I am not really knowledgeable about?"
