Chapter 2219: Fighting The Horde 1
Chapter 2219: Fighting The Horde 1
-----
Both of Drake’s disciples assumed their Dragonoid forms, which were small, compact, and not large enough to destroy the bridge, as that would defeat the entire purpose of coming here.
The zombies quickly noticed them, roaring and groaning as they charged forward. Some resembled humans covered in wounds, blood, and mud, with unfocused white eyes and open mouths filled with sharp teeth.
Others, however, were more mutated. Their heads had transformed into long tentacles with eyes and jaws, and a few were even stranger, bearing larger, muscular arms and legs. Some were entirely covered in eyes, while others suddenly burst into flames, burning brightly.
Indeed, these were the stuff of nightmares, far from the zombies Drake knew from movies. These super-mutated monstrosities were born from a bioweapon that should never have existed.
Amethyst and Triton leaped forward, their Auras surging as thousands of zombies surrounded them, running and leaping. Some even flew, propelled by giant fleshy wings sprouting from their arms or backs.
"Alright!"
Triton smiled, his Aura flowing with greater power and control than before, honed through intensive training with Drake to master his true abilities.
First, his Divine Aura, primarily composed of Divine Soul Essence, could create temporary Divine Soul Beasts, the same entities that appear and grow within the Draconic Record’s Realms.
Soul Beasts were living beings born from ethereal realms made mostly of souls or soul essence, accessible only to souls or, in rare cases, to dragons strong enough to enter with their physical bodies.
These were largely non-physical beings, born from pure soul essence and sustained by feeding on it to grow stronger and survive.
Triton’s unique powers allowed his Aura to generate these beings almost endlessly, provided he had sufficient Soul Essence.
He was an innate Soul Beast Summoner, a rare talent among dragons.
Through his training, Triton had not only strengthened, expanded, and fortified his soul but also equipped Soul Gear twice: once for his Soul Body and once for his True Soul.
This gave Triton a significant advantage, granting double the Soul Bonuses and making his soul exceptionally powerful.
Consequently, his creations inherited this immense power!
"Go! {Divine Ocean Soul Beast Summon}!"
In truth, Triton’s base form was not suited for close combat. His sea dragon form, resembling a massive plesiosaurus-like dragon, lacked fists. Thus, aside from using his weight and size to overpower foes, Triton relied heavily on magic.
His summons were perfect for this purpose. While he reserved his True Form for later, as Drake believed it would serve as a powerful trump card against stronger foes, his familiars fought for him, directed by his thoughts—an extraordinary ability.
In fact, these familiars were merely the beginning of what his remarkable Aura could achieve!
"ROOAARRR!"
Leviathans were not the only Soul Beasts he summoned. Giant Ghost Sharks, Spectral Dolphins, Umbral Rays, and Phantasmal Octopuses materialized, their numbers swelling from dozens to nearly a hundred. This personal army of Soul Beasts, born from Triton’s Aura, was an incredible feat that even Drake could not replicate.
This was his greatest talent, a gift of his unique birth.
His Soul Beasts rampaged through the zombies, crushing them by the dozens. The monstrous creatures opened their jaws, biting and tearing apart the zombies, their divine soul essence burning most to ashes.
However, among the horde were exceptionally strong mutants that leaped toward the Soul Beasts, attacking with furious punches from their massive fists, lashing tentacles, and spraying acid or flames.
Contrary to appearances, these creatures were not weak. They could swarm a Soul Beast and tear it to shreds with their bare hands.
Originating from a world without magic, these creatures could now touch and destroy magical beings, likely due to further mutations caused by exposure to Yggdrasil’s Atmospheric Mana.
Yet, despite their strength, they were no match. With a confident smile on his youthful face, Triton waved his hand forward, unleashing a massive oceanic wave of azure and golden soul essence.
SPLAAASH!
The attack sent hundreds of zombies flying. The smaller ones perished instantly, while the mutants resisted briefly before being overwhelmed by multiple Soul Beasts, swiftly trampled and torn apart.
"Oho, that boy is doing a fine job," Amethyst said, smiling and nodding.
She soon found herself surrounded by hundreds of zombies attempting to climb her body, but her Aura held them at bay.
Even so, their hands gradually pushed through her Aura, and if they combined their strength, they might break it.
It was peculiar. Though these creatures were supposed to be relatively weak, they posed a genuine threat when united.
They were certainly beyond what mortals could handle on such a scale, likely why the Dwarves, despite their Magitech, could only push them back and seal the gate.
"Time to get serious. I can’t let my junior do all the work here!"
FLAAASH!
Amethyst’s body shone brilliantly. Each of her colorful crystal scales emitted a beam of light in its unique hue, lasers that pierced the zombies, burning holes through them until they collapsed, reduced to ashes. Dozens, then hundreds, then thousands fell.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Countless explosions echoed around her as Amethyst stood motionless, unleashing the unique powers of her body—a perfect fusion of Light and Earth Dragons.
"GRUOOOHHH!"
"So far you’re all small fry, but these are interesting..."
Amethyst spotted a dozen mutants rushing toward her, with elongated limbs, tentacles, wings, and massive claws or hands. Some were covered entirely in eyes.
Those with eyes shot beams at her, but Amethyst deflected them effortlessly with her mirror-like scales. With a downward swing of her claw, she conjured three giant claws of super-hard, diamond-like crystals formed from her scales and skin, slicing the mutants apart.
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
Chris, Lucia, and Jake glanced at the scene in disbelief, as both dragons rampaged an army of hundreds of thousands of zombies and mutants, taking them down by the hundreds per second on their own.
"Do we even need to do something right now?" Chris Bluefield wondered. "Your group is insanely strong, Drake."
"Well, these are my disciples," Drake said. "This is some good warm up for them."
