Chapter 2371: Clash Of Venerables II [7]

BOOOM!

"Ungh?!"

Deus groaned, the light was the same as his own- no, it was even more ancient and primordial in nature, almost at the same level as Pandemonium and Chaos.

"You’re...! You possess the power of one of the Original Four?!"

Deus grabbed his shoulder in pain, as he quickly controlled all of his weapons, while opening a giant portal to a massive armory, where even more weapons emerged, all of them of his divine collection.

"{Divine Armory of the Gods}!"

The divine weapons rushed down, clashing against Benladann, Miranda, and Amaterasu, pushing them back while generating destructive explosions of gold and light.

"{Immortal Soul Blade: Limitless Ascension}"

"Hm?!"

And then Deus was caught on Drake’s technique, his eyes widening, as his family ended helping him greatly by keeping the Venerable right where he wanted him.

SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!

"GAAAAHAA?!"

Deus vomited even more blood, his body covered on slashing wounds everywhere, several of his fingers flying away, one of his eyes was stabbed and exploded into a bloody pulp, and even one leg and one arm were gone, sliced into smithereens.

It was tremendously fast and tremendously lethal!

This was Drake’s Immoral Soul Blade, his Limitless Ascension technique, capable of rapidly catching a foe off-guard and unleashing a dance of sword attacks within a split second, overwhelming him in a mere moment.

But he wasn’t done.

"HAAAAHHH!"

Limitless Ascension was both a barrage of rapid blows, and then one finishing blow, gathering all of Drake’s Divine Power and hundreds of Blade Spirits into Muramasa, a roaring silver and golden dragon surged.

"{ECHO}!"

"{Heavenly Immortal Dragon Descent}!"

The power of his Dragoon Knight Archetype was imbued into his technique, as half of Drake’s body turned into his Archetype for this strong blow, striking Deus with all his force, as a pillar of white, yellow, and silver light pierced Deus’ Dominion’s ceiling and then rushed down.

CRAAASH!

The attack sliced across his Dominion and began to destroy it, all while striking Deus right in the head, shattering his skull and managing to send him flying down with immense force, although unable to completely cut him, as he was that tough.

BOOOMMM!!!

An explosion of blinding light erupted, consuming the ancient venerable as he crashed into the floor. His Dominion, like glass, gained cracks and then shattered into countless pieces.

"T-This is ridiculous... His family, his allies, they’re all but small fry... but he...! He can make it all work... somehow, even though they cannot even compare to me... or even you, Fortune!"

Deus laid on a massive crater formed from all the wooden rubble below him, which had burned and even turned into black stone and crystals from the crystallization of all the powers clashing everywhere.

Despite how frustrated he felt Fortune died, he also felt a tinge of sorrow, he had grown attached to that kid, a bit too much for him, someone that had chosen to abandon most of his humanity on his path to save humanity itself.

And yet... now, he was at the brink of death.

"Master."

"Hm?!"

However, a voice echoed through his mind, as he noticed a glowing ring of light.

Deus couldn’t believe it.

This ring, this small light that floated above his wounded body.

"F-Fortune?! You survived?"

"No... this is merely a fragment of my soul, a Will."

"What?!"

"That Dragon King, Drake, he’s a formidable foe... I worried about you even when I died. I am sorry for having failed you, but our dream must go on, and I know that you’re the one that will be able to accomplish it."

"You... damn kid..."

FLASH!

The ring reached Deus’ chest, as Drake rushed down to finish him off, he felt Fortune’s presence surging from below.

"W-What’s this?!"

FLUOSH!

An explosion of bright light erupted from the ground, Celestial Light combining with the Light of Providence, creating an incredible power that vastly surpassed both of them combined.

And amidst this pillar of blinding light, Deus appeared, looking even larger, almost as big as a titan to match Drake’s enormous size, overflowing with immense power.

Behind him, there were now two more Ascendancy Law Rings, giving him a total of ten.

"Ten rings?!"

Drake had only been able to forge seven so far, they were quite a lot, but they were still one less than Deus, and even then, their powerful Laws could only negate each other for some time.

The total power of a Venerable was usually judged by the number of Ascendancy Law Rings they had, of the number of Laws they governed over and could manifest through their techniques and spells.

The muscles and youthfulness of Fortune lived on through his master, who inherited a fragment of his powers that Fortune managed to save in the very last moment.

This was why Drake felt like there was some more power missing when he absorbed his powers, which he ended up attributing to not eating his soul completely.

But he was wrong, there was indeed quite a lot of this power missing! And the one that was now its new owner was him, Deus.

"My useless disciple ended being much more than I imagined, he was at the very least capable of giving me this much power... I feel reborn. My wounds are all gone, and my power has reached is peak and even surpassed it now. Admire my radiance, as I am the Son of Providence and the Successor of the Ancient Gods as one! We are Fortune Deus."

It wasn’t just a fusion of powers, but through Fortune’s Laws, his personality and part of his own self remained, mixing with Deus, and creating a fusion of two Venerables.

"Are you kidding me?!" Benladann asked.

"This mess can’t get any more chaotic!" Miranda complained.

"But didn’t Drake kill that guy?!" Yuki asked.

"Awuuh..." Yudra let out a welp, she was slightly afraid.

"We saw daddy do that!" Benladra nodded.

"Weird... this is really weird..." Kate said.

"Hmm, I don’t like it!" Drakda said.
