Chapter 2405: Clash Of Venerables II [41]
-----
SLASH! SLASH! SLASH! SLASH!
"Fufu! Did you think you could grab me, you beast? I commend your love for your dear daughter, but now I can—Hm?!"
Mitsuhide's face twisted with worry as dozens of blue beams were fired at him. His Aura instinctively sliced through them all.
But then he realized he had been distracted—he had made a mistake.
"Ah, she got me."
He smiled and closed his eyes.
BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM! BOOOM!
"Ngaaaah?! Hahah...! Fufuuuuugggh?!"
He couldn't keep laughing as he vomited blood, mini atomic explosions bombarding his body, his armor weakening and then shattering.
It was Kate's delayed Proton Cannon Beams! While Benladann and Benladra distracted him, Kate had taken the chance to strike.
Instead of avoiding them as before, Mitsuhide cut the beams without thinking, realizing his mistake a second too late.
And indeed, although Mitsuhide's techniques possessed incredible power capable of surpassing the Sword God, his body was not as durable as Susanoo's muscular physique.
In fact, he was more vulnerable to damage than they thought. He only seemed untouchable because of his agility and ability to negate attacks with his techniques.
"You're really pissing me off."
As the beams continued, he swiftly flew into the skies, crimson snakes covering his pale skin as cursed runes began to activate.
He didn't fully transform, but instead gained a substantial power boost, his body growing twice as large and muscular.
"Now I'll show you!"
He rushed down, only for a huge shadow to loom behind him. His eyes widened for a moment as a three-headed golden and black dragon opened its jaws.
It was Drakda!
"RAAAAAHHHHH!"
The boy roared, releasing three dragon breaths with all his might. Mitsuhide swiftly used his sword techniques to cancel them, destroying the breaths instantly.
However, Drakda vanished from where he had been, Akechi's attack striking nothing.
"Huh?!"
CLAAASH!
"Ngh?!"
Mitsuhide felt his armor breaking as something long and sharp struck him from the left. A reaper-like assassin appeared, clad in silver and black armor, his face hidden beneath a black hood, glowing red eyes staring at him.
He sensed Drakda's presence within this figure, shocked that the titanic dragon had suddenly become much smaller, now wielding a long scythe.
"They turned smaller... I've seen that before. No need to panic."
Mitsuhide smiled as Drakda rushed toward him, swinging the scythe and unleashing a barrage of Void Element attacks that tore through space.
The boy had great talent and a powerful Archetype, but he was still a young dragon, lacking the experience to wield his power properly—even though he had trained nonstop with his father since gaining it.
The Samurai easily saw through the boy's attacks, evading with ease and countering with his sword, cutting through the Archetype Embodiment and covering Drakda's armor with sharp wounds and slashes.
"You have incredible power, but you lack the technique and experience to wield it, child. It's truly a pity. If you were to surrender, I'm sure Nobunaga-sama would be happy to have another dragon to pull his carriage. What do you think?"
"I WOULD RATHER DIE!"
Drakda roared angrily, transforming back into his dragon form. All three heads tried to chomp down on Mitsuhide, but the Samurai easily avoided them, swinging his sword and beheading one head. Drakda felt agonizing pain and grew dizzy.
SLAAASH!
"AAAARRGHHHH!"
He gritted his teeth, his two remaining heads unleashing breaths of void and chaos. Mitsuhide avoided them easily, rushing upward and swinging his blade down toward the second head, splitting it apart.
SLAAASH!
"GRYAAARRRR!"
Drakda tried to regenerate, but the cuts carried deadly intent, slowing the process. With only one head left, he couldn't take risks.
"I see. As long as one head remains, you live. That makes sense. I'll behead the next one then!"
Mitsuhide laughed, rushing to finish him off. His blade swung horizontally, a giant wave of crimson energy surging toward the boy's neck.
BOOOM!
But the strike never landed. The giant dragon vanished, the attack hitting rubble and crystallized miasma instead. Mitsuhide quickly noticed Drakda had returned to his smaller, armored form, regenerating his wounds and avoiding a fatal blow.
"He's switching between forms to avoid attacks! He's also healing faster that way?!"
Drakda wasn't the most experienced, but he was tremendously talented. He knew how to use what he had, exploiting his abilities. His form-switching gave him a powerful advantage, confusing his enemy and avoiding lethal strikes.
Still, he knew he couldn't defeat a monster like Mitsuhide alone. He was only buying time for everyone else.
FLASH! FLASH! FLASH!
"Hm?!"
Mitsuhide's snake-like eyes widened as he sensed several bright, glowing presences arriving.
Benladra.
Kate.
Yudra.
And Benladann and Miranda fused together.
Meanwhile, beneath them, Yuki and Andromeda held back the Decaying Goddess while building what seemed to be a formation, drawing power from the Dominion.
"Well done buying us time, son!" Miranda roared.
"RAAAAHHH!" Benladann swung her axe forward. Mitsuhide swiftly evaded, the axe striking empty air, only for the chaos dragon to swing her massive arms to the left, rushing toward him.
The swordsman swung his katana, unleashing one of his favorite techniques. Hundreds of red slicing lines appeared around him, putting pressure on the Dominion.
"{Voidflower Waltz}!"
CLASH! CLASH! CLASH! CLASH!
But Benladann and Miranda spun forward, crudely imitating Mitsuhide's movements. Their massive axe clashed against all his attacks at once.
"N-Nani?!"
Mitsuhide felt insulted as the girls copied his technique. Blazing crosses of chaotic flames erupted, about to strike him, but he materialized a giant crimson serpent of cursed energy, clashing against both attacks and destroying them.
BOOOM! BOOOM!
At the same time, a piercing spear rushed from behind. Benladra relentlessly tried to impale him, unleashing piercing strikes that wore down his defenses. His Aura weakened as he looked at her with irritation yet smiled angrily.
"Hmmm! Very good, girl!"
He rushed forward, avoiding the spear and pointing his blade at Benladra's neck. His sword pierced through her scales and flesh, slicing her throat mercilessly.
SLAAASH!
"GAAAAGH?!"
Benladra vomited blood, groaning in agony. Mitsuhide clicked his tongue—he had aimed to behead her, but her golden form's thick skin made it annoyingly difficult.
However...
"RAAAHHH!"
Benladra responded with a dragon breath. Against his expectations, she didn't die. Instead, she released a blast into his face, sending him flying away. Her holy light burned his cursed power into ashes!
