Chapter 2505 The First Round
Chapter 2505 The First Round
The remaining time for the round was 36 hours. While it was three and a half hours more for Alex, that was still a short time, especially considering it became harder to come up with new recipes as time went on.
Alex took hours to go through the ingredients and finally came up with something that felt like it might work. He wasn’t completely sure, but he had to try.
He followed the ingredients in his mind, trying to place one after another to reach the right target. This was what he was looking for, and this was what he had received.
In the end, he arrived at a pill made to attune one to most sounds and melodies.
Alex frowned. This was a good pill, but he felt he had another choice hereโa different, better choice. The ingredients were right he felt, but the arrangements needed to be changed.
Alex went through the recipe, trying new arrangements to bring out the aspects he wanted to emphasize, but no matter how much he tried, he just couldn’t reach that final recipe he wanted.
The Immortal Jadehorn Leaves just weren’t enough for what he wanted with this pill. He needed something more, something stronger.
After taking a moment for himself, Alex realized what he needed to do.
If he wanted more of the Immortal Jadehorn Leaves’ attributes to show up without using too many of the leaves, he simply had to make the Wood energy stronger. The best choice to do that was using Water energy, and what better ingredient was there at the moment than the other major ingredient, Eight Twilight Silk Seeds.
The rules mentioned that a pill had to have at least one of the major ingredients, so working with two at once was not against the rules.
Alex decided to use the Water energy in one ingredient to enhance the Wood energy in another, and from the looks of it, it would work perfectly.
There were some issues that came as a byproduct of using Eight Twilight Silk Seeds, but thankfully, they were not so problematic. All he had to do was remove the Immortal Azure Coral from the recipe and introduce Coalfire Leaves to hold back the Eight Twilight Silk Seeds’ strong Water energy.
With that, Alex got exactly what he wanted and more.
The final pill recipe now created a pill that gave a person temporary perfect pitch, allowing them to fully attune with all sounds and melodies, as well as somewhat sense the Dao of Sound.
The ability to sense the Dao was a complete accident that Alex hadn’t expected to gain from the pill, but he was glad to have found it.
With that, he was quite happy about the final recipe, so he began refining it. Half an hour later, he had the fifth recipe ready as well.

Alex looked up at the time and noticed that over half a day had passed by now. He had about 20 effective hours remaining for this round to end, so that was enough time to come up with another recipe.
Or so Alex thought. He didn’t realize just how difficult it was to come up with the sixth recipe. Now that he had worked with every ingredient, finding something new to do with them using the same ingredients was annoyingly difficult.
It took him an entire 10 hours of trial and error to finally stumble onto something that might work. It had something to do with Golden Mind Chrysanthemum.
The previous pill he made with this ingredient was a mental healing pill, so this time, he was trying something different. He was applying the previous method of using one major ingredient to affect the second one when he stumbled upon this.
He realized that if he used the Nine Star Jewel Fruit to empower the Golden Mind Chrysanthemum, he could make use of the earth ingredient’s ability to enhance one’s body and add it to the metal ingredient’s ability to protect minds.
The idea was there, but now he had to make it work. So, he spent the next few hours going through the various possibilities one at a time.
He had to go through each minor ingredient and try it out with not just the major ingredients but also the minor ones to figure out what worked and what didn’t for what he wanted right now.
Alex began making good progress and was excited that he was finally getting somewhere. Right in the middle of that excitement, however, he was pulled out of his thoughts.
His Divinity entered his space, forcing Alex to distract himself for the moment.
He looked up at the man and was about to ask when he noticed the timer in the sky behind him. Thirty-five hours had now passed, and it was time for him to hand over the fourth recipe.
The fourth recipe was the one with Carnelian Assault Boar’s Tusk, where the pill could change one’s blood aura into fire aura and amplify whatever they were doing.
He had long since refined the recipe, so all he had to do was make the pill.
Alex heated up Memory, and Memory got excited all over again. The cauldron believed that because it was being put to use again, it could absorb all the energy once more.
“Aren’t you satisfied after consuming all that energy from earlier?” Alex asked the cauldron. Every single hint of energy that had been pulled out of the ingredients he had refined to learn about them had been devoured by Memory.
So the fact that it still hungered for more was both surprising and annoying.
Memory sent back a message, claiming that it only asked because it had been a while since it had eaten anything.
Alex sighed. “I’ll let you eat a bit this time, but this is the last time. If you want more, evolve.”
Memory returned a dejected feeling, but there was nothing else Alex could do anymore. He had let the cauldron feed on so many things by this point, and it was already clear that it needed no more to evolve.
Whatever it was eating now was only because it wanted to, not because it needed to.
Alex ignored the cauldron’s feelings and prepared the pill. It took him just a few minutes to make the pill. Memory ate some parts of the energy within it while the pill was being formed, but enough energy remained that the final pill could come out with 83% harmony.
Alex handed the recipe and pill over to the Divinity, who checked it quickly. He compared the recipe with the one they had already prepared with the Alchemy God’s help. Once the man was certain the recipe was the correct one, he put them aside.
“Congratulations on making it to the round of 64. You will soon have an opponent to go up against. Please keep an eye on the brackets,” the Divinity said, pointing to the brackets in the sky before leaving.
Alex took a moment to look up at the bracket and check the names of the two who were going up against each other. He shook his head slightly.
Regardless of which one won this round, they would still have to go up against him in the next round. And the chances of them winning here was frankly nonexistent.
