Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 3009: Scarlet’s Choice

Chapter 3009: Scarlet’s Choice

“Again?”

Scarlet’s mother slumped back on her seat after hearing what her daughter had to say. “Huohuo, I… I don’t know if it’s worth this.”

“It is, Mother. Please, trust me on this,” Scarlet said. “I can’t tell you why I’m doing this, but it is most certainly something I’ve thought a hundred times over by now before making this decision. If I restart my cultivation—just from the Immortal Realms, mind you—I will become much stronger than I ever could be.”

“Can you at least tell me why?” her mother asked.

Scarlet hesitated. Alex hadn’t exactly told her to keep the Origin Technique a secret, but at the same time, such a thing needn’t be said. It was obvious it would have to remain a secret.

She couldn’t tell her own mother.

Xianhei was at a loss for words. What her daughter wanted to do was quite preposterous in her eyes. Such a thing could not be allowed.

But at the same time, the way she spoke of what she was trying to do, it sounded important. Maybe not important in the grand scheme of things, but important to her daughter.

“Didn’t you want to leave with your friends soon?” Scarlet’s mother asked. “How can I allow you to leave if you are going to weaken yourself all over again?”

Scarlet smiled. “Do not worry, Mother. I have that perfectly covered as well.”

Scarlet handed a large glass jar to her mother, containing Elixir brought over from Hell.

Xianhei looked over the sap for a while, not recognizing it at all. “What am I looking at?”

“A way for me to become as strong as a new Divine Realm cultivator right away,” Scarlet said. “If I eat that sap, it will give me Body Cultivation, Mother. It’s a fascinating thing that Alex and the others found in Hell and brought over. Once I eat that, all your worries should be gone.”

Scarlet’s mother frowned slightly. “This is all of it?” she asked.

“No, I’ve got a few more jars,” Scarlet said.

Scarlet’s mother nodded and opened the jar. She dipped one of her wing feathers into the sap, scooping out just a bit of it along. Then, she slowly ate it, checking on what the thing did.

She checked for poison first and foremost, followed by anything that would harm the body. She couldn’t just trust that there was some sort of magical Elixir that could improve someone’s Body Cultivation without having to do anything.

However, when the effects of the Elixir finally settled on Xianhei’s body, she couldn’t help but stare at Scarlet with her mouth agape. “This… how can this be?”

Scarlet’s face went from worry to relief in an instant, and she smiled. “It’s great, isn’t it, Mother?” she said, taking back the jar of Elixir. “I’ll try to ask some for you too. I think they can afford to spare.”

Scarlet’s mother didn’t argue. She couldn’t hide behind modesty at this moment to miss such a chance. If she could gain Body Cultivation so easily, then she would gladly accept it.

“So you will just eat the pill?” Xianhei asked.

“Yes. I will eat it, and it won’t take long before my cultivation base reverts,” Scarlet said.

Xianhei seemed a little irked at that point. “And where is that damn human? Shouldn’t he be overseeing such an important ordeal? What’s the point of bonding with him if he can’t even be here? I haven’t seen him for days.”

“He’s cultivating, Mother,” Scarlet said quickly. “He’s going to break through to the Immortal Transcendent Realm, so he is not to be disturbed.”

“The Immortal Transcendent Realm?” she asked. “I see. That’s an important Realm. I hope he prepared for his Inner Demon.”

“I’m sure he has,” Scarlet said.

Xianhei closed her eyes for a while before finally sighing. “Fine. Eat the pill. I will be here.” Official source is novelfire(.)net

Scarlet’s eyes brightened. “Thank you, Mother.”

She waited no longer, bringing out a plethora of pills, all prepared by her mother. Each pill had nine veins on it, made specifically for her.

Feng Xianhei was an incredible Alchemist, but she couldn’t make nine-veined pills as often as Alex could. She would have to make at least half a dozen pills with the best of ingredients before one came out with 100% harmony.

Despite their strength and lineage, the Beasts had sadly come quite late to pill-making. The knowledge had been copied over from the Humans, but not properly. So they didn’t know everything the Humans knew.

As such, the fact that she could make such great pills was proof of her mastery as an Alchemist.

Once Scarlet had everything before her, all that could be needed should something go wrong after eating the pill, she finally brought out the Second Chance Pill.

Scarlet brought out the pill, looking at it under the all-surrounding light. Because of the way light diffused through the translucent Sunstone, no object cast strong shadows inside the room.

So, Scarlet could look at the pill from any direction and see it perfectly.

She hesitated for a bit. Hesitation made sense. She was going to throw away all of her Immortal cultivation with this after all, being sent back to the starting point.

She had become an Immortal over fifteen thousand years ago now. After rebirth, she had become an Immortal before even the war against the Dragon Emperor.

And now, all these years later, she was going to revert in her progress again.

If this were to trigger an Inner Demon, she feared she wouldn’t pass at all. Chuckling, she brought the pill closer to her mouth.

However, before she could eat it, her brows raised suddenly, the world around her seemingly changing all of a sudden.

Scarlet’s mother rose in a protective stance, her eyes glancing all around as her senses ran wild trying to figure out what was happening.

Then, she finally sensed it.

The sky was a maelstrom of aura, and it had begun descending upon the palace, going down to one individual’s section.

Alex had started his breakthrough.
