Chapter 153: A Stronger Shadow Stealth – The Miko Sisters’ Plea

Chapter 153: Chapter 153: A Stronger Shadow Stealth – The Miko Sisters’ Plea

Aiden’s most-used Starlight Rank skills were three: Thunder’s Wrath, Hand of the Victor, and Blacklight Ward.

Hand of the Victor was just a skill for picking up loot, so it wasn’t urgent to level it up.

Between Thunder’s Wrath and Blacklight Ward, Aiden chose Blacklight Ward.

From the past few fights, he had seen that his attack power was more than enough against enemies of level 60.

But his defense was a bit weak.

He pulled out the Epic Rank skill enhancement stone and used it without hesitation.

Soon, Blacklight Ward changed.

[Blacklight Ward – Epic Rank, a defense skill. It uses a small amount of mana to release dark energy, creating a black sphere around the body. The black sphere can absorb magic damage and 50% of physical damage, 30% of true damage. It also reduces the physical critical chance and critical damage of the attacker. The duration and damage absorption limit depend on the user’s mana, constitution, and spirit.]

Looking at the upgraded Blacklight Ward, Aiden’s eyes lit up with surprise.

“Wow, it can absorb 50% of physical damage and 30% of true damage. That’s pretty good.”

He was really happy with the Epic Rank Blacklight Ward.

He still had one Legendary Rank skill enhancement stone left. It could upgrade an Epic Rank skill to Legendary Rank.

There was no doubt about where to use it. Of course, it had to go on his most important skill.

Shadow Stealth!

As the Legendary Rank stone disappeared, Shadow Stealth changed too.

[Shadow Stealth – Legendary Rank. It lets you sense shadows, blend into them, and control them. When in the shadow, you become invisible. Your presence, temperature, sound, and even your “existence” are temporarily absorbed. While in the shadow, your mana regen increases by 20%, and your movement speed goes up by 150%. When you leave the shadow, your first skill casts with a shadow boost, increasing its power by 20%. The stronger the shadow, the less mana you use. If there’s no shadow, you can spend a lot of mana to create a short-lasting shadow area. The size, strength, and duration depend on how much mana you spend and your spirit.]

Also, regular detection skills won’t work on you. Only those with a domain, or with foresight skills, or with Mythic Rank detection skills, can sense you.

“Aha! Now I get more mana regen, movement speed is up from 100% to 150%, and my first skill after leaving the shadow gets a 20% boost. This is why it’s a Legendary Rank skill! It’s amazing!”

Aiden’s lips curled into a small smile. He had also unlocked the Mana Spring, which, when combined with Shadow Stealth’s mana recovery, let him regain his magic faster during fights. This meant he could deal more damage over time.

He didn’t think about upgrading any other Epic Rank skills because, at this stage, Shadow Stealth was too important.

There had been several times in battle where, without it, he would have been in serious trouble.

“Aiden, we can go now!” Cheryl held Faye tightly and shouted.

Aiden let out a quick breath. He checked his journal.

[You completed the Fifth Class Quest]

Now that the Class Change quest was done, there was no reason to stay in the Miko Temple. Aiden followed Cheryl and Rainn out of the temple.

In the empty second-floor hall, a ghostly figure now sat on the throne.

The Wraithshard of the Supreme Miko watched silently, her eyes full of sorrow and pain.

She sighed and whispered to herself, “Even if your soul is forever trapped and eaten by endless spirits, you still did it.”

“Is this boy named Aiden our hope?”

“Or is it yours?”

“I have no hope left. After Rainn became the Primordial Miko, I hope she will go with Aiden to face the coming war of countless races and the endless darkness.”

In the Abyss, near the Miko territory, on a small hill close to the lost Miko City.

Aiden sat by a fire, lost in thought.

He was thinking about what was coming next.

The global Reclasser Exchange Competition would start in just a few days, and he was going to get that mysterious map fragment as a prize.

And, if the chance came, he would also teach Miles from the Azurecloud Empire a lesson.

In the Miko Temple, Aiden could feel that the Supreme Miko’s Wraithshard was helping him.

But since she didn’t mention any other map fragments, it probably meant she didn’t remember everything.

The divine powerhouse named Orrin clearly knew the Supreme Miko, but the Wraithshard had no memory of him at all.

“Bane of All Races 2: Genius Nightmare. This quest can be part of the Global Reclasser Exchange Competition. After all, the people in the competition are all top-level Reclassers from different countries. There must be a lot of geniuses.”

“Aiden planned to do part of the quest first. Then, the next step would be the secret area of the Land of Fallen Gods. The Floating City is important for all humans. If I can, I should check it out too.”

Aiden liked to plan ahead for what was coming. That was important to him.

Many Reclassers only thought about today and tomorrow.

As for Henry and Felix, Aiden didn’t forget them either.

After using the Twin Coin’s luck effect to boost his stats, and with Sean’s Legendary staff and the special skill Reverse Fate Sacrifice, he should have enough strength to stay safe.

“I still need a secret weapon to kill someone level 80 or higher,” Aiden sighed.

He knew this thought was a bit greedy.

After all, he was only 18, and had been a Reclasser for less than two months.

Most Reclassers of his age were only level 10 or 20.

But without realizing it, Aiden was already thinking about fighting level 80 Reclassers.

“Better take it slow. Be careful. I don’t have any revival items yet. If something goes wrong, I could be done for good,” Aiden shook his head.

He stood up slowly and said to Rainn and Cheryl nearby.”Okay, the mission is done. I should go back now.”

“Faye, time to leave.”

“See you next time, if we meet again.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Faye flew out of Cheryl’s arms.

Rainn and Cheryl suddenly stood up. Cheryl took two steps toward Aiden instinctively.

Rainn, on the other hand, lifted her foot, then put it back down.

“Wow, you’re leaving already?” Cheryl said in a casual way, her eyes full of sadness.

Rainn took a deep breath and nodded. “Yeah, it’s too fast. We don’t know when we’ll see each other again.”

“Why not leave tomorrow? This place is safe. Besides me, no other Miko usually comes here.”

Aiden looked at the Miko sisters. He actually wanted to go back to the Sovereign City and wait for the bad luck effect to wear off in his villa.

Under their hopeful eyes, he nodded.

“Okay, I want to know more about the Abyss. Including your Miko clan’s Primordial Miko and the Demon Duke,” Aiden said slowly.

“Yay!” Cheryl cheered, clenching her fists. Her chest, squeezed tight in her combat suit, bounced up and down.

“Faye, come here! Let your sister give you a hug!” Cheryl ran over to Faye quickly.

Faye shook her head. “Cheryl, when you hold me, my head feels heavy.”

Before she finished speaking, Cheryl grabbed Faye and hugged her tight. Her chest pressed right into Faye’s head. “I have something good for you!”

“What kind of good stuff? Legendary materials? Or Mythic?” Faye stopped resisting immediately.

“Wow, do you eat that good every day?” Cheryl widened her eyes.

Faye nodded easily, lifting her head with effort. “Not really. My master feeds me Epic materials every day. I just want to try Legendary and Mythic ones.”

Meanwhile, while Cheryl and Faye were talking, Rainn quickly walked up to Aiden and whispered.

“I need to talk to you about something.”

Aiden followed Rainn into the nearby trees.

When their figures disappeared, Cheryl slowly lowered her head and pressed it against Faye’s.

“Cheryl, are you okay?” Faye noticed that Cheryl seemed a little sad and asked, confused.

Cheryl answered softly, “I don’t know… maybe I’m just too tired today.”

In the forest.

Aiden stopped and asked Rainn, “What is it? Just say it here.”

Rainn took a deep breath and said slowly, “Let’s make a deal.”

“I heard about the Demon invasion of the Elephant Empire. Those Demons have been acting strangely. It won’t be long before they attack Earth in big numbers.”

Aiden looked at Rainn’s eyes with interest and said, “Go on.”

Rainn looked away for a moment, then quickly turned back and met Aiden’s eyes. “I need a lot of high-tier materials. In return, I’ll try to convince the other two Primordial Miko to attack the Demon lands.”

“Then, both humans and Miko can fight the Demons more effectively and get more resources. What do you think?”

Aiden smiled and his eyes shone. He said slowly, “You got it all wrong.”

Rainn’s eyes opened wide in shock. She didn’t expect Aiden to say that.
