Chapter 157: Nellie, Angry Luke
Chapter 157: Chapter 157: Nellie, Angry Luke
Aiden took his eyes off the girl with short hair. He could tell her tone was full of disrespect and arrogance, like she thought she was better than everyone else.
He didn’t bother with people like her.
Aiden didn’t like trouble.
Time was valuable, and he didn’t want to waste it on people who didn’t matter.
But the girl walked toward him anyway.
Each step she took, her golden hair swayed gently.
“Hey, are you Aiden?” she asked, standing right in front of him.
Aiden looked at her briefly and said,
“Lot of people here. You clearly know who I am. So why ask?”
The girl frowned and pouted. She clearly wasn’t happy with his answer.
“It’s my business who I talk to. Why won’t you even answer me?” She put her hands on her hips and looked angry.
At that moment, Atlas walked over with a laugh and introduced,
“Aiden, this is Nellie from the Wycliffe Family.”
The Wycliffe Family?
Aiden instantly remembered Gareth, who had appeared at the entrance to the hidden realm.
The Wycliffe Family was a secret family. Why were they here?
It seemed Atlas noticed Aiden’s confusion, and he added,
“It’s like this,” Atlas said, “Nellie is also joining the Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament.”
Aiden’s eyes flickered. His mind raced. The Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament was a competition where countries could show off their strongest Reclassers. It helped them gain power and resources when facing the Abyss Demon invasion.
After all, countries that could create strong Reclassers were always powerful.
And this tournament stopped big fights while showing everyone how strong the best Reclassers could be.
But the Wycliffe Family was a hidden family. Their goals were probably not the same as the others.
“Did they come for the prize?” Aiden thought quickly. “Did they want a chance to be trained by a divine powerhouse? Or a Legendary Rank weapon? Or maybe… that mysterious treasure map piece?”
Nellie wouldn’t join the tournament without a reason.
Aiden looked at her and said, “The Wycliffe Family is a hidden family. They’ve been cut off from the world for a long time. This tournament gives them a chance to train and learn from top Reclassers.”
“Plus, the prizes are great. Legendary Rank weapons are tempting. And a chance to be taught by a divine powerhouse is rare.”
As soon as he finished, Nellie rolled her eyes and said, “Training?”
“Please. You guys are just regular geniuses. You don’t even compare to our real geniuses.”
“A divine powerhouse? We already have one. And they’re way stronger than the ones you have.”
“As for the Legendary Rank weapons… that’s actually not bad.”
Aiden’s eyes narrowed slightly.
The Wycliffe Family had a divine powerhouse?
That’s what a hidden family was like?
“Okay, not for training or to get a divine powerhouse’s help. Some options are out,” Aiden thought quickly.
What he just said was all planned.
But Nellie didn’t catch on at all. She said everything.
Now, only the Legendary Rank gear and the mysterious treasure map piece were left.
“If the Wycliffe Family sent Nellie to the tournament just for the treasure map piece, then they probably have one of their own,” Aiden thought clearly.
Just as Aiden was about to keep pushing Nellie with his words, a sigh suddenly came into his ear.
“Nellie, I told you to get some more training. Look, Aiden just said a few words, and you almost told him everything,” said Gareth, stepping out from outside the Reclasser Association.
His voice and figure appeared in front of everyone at the same time.
Atlas and Luke reacted first. Then Henry, followed by Aiden.
Finally, Victor, Jade, and Vespera.
“Nice to see you again, smart guy,” Gareth said, smiling at Aiden.
Aiden frowned slightly. Smart guy?
Was that his new nickname?
Gareth had a strange sense of humor.
Nellie, hearing Gareth’s words, widened her eyes and looked at Aiden in confusion.
What did she say wrong?
“Never mind. I’ll explain it to you later, so you don’t get tricked again,” Gareth sighed.
It wasn’t her fault. Nellie wasn’t dumb. She just didn’t get much training inside the Wycliffe Family.
“Still, Aiden is getting more and more interesting. Too bad his rank is only Epic. If he was Mythic, maybe others in the Wycliffe Family would have let him join and even marry a cousin from the family.”
As for girls from the main branch, like Nellie, they would never marry someone from outside the Wycliffe Family.
This was one of the main reasons to keep the bloodline pure, so future generations could reliably awaken a Mythic Rank profession.
As soon as Aiden saw Gareth arrive, he knew he couldn’t get any more useful info from Nellie. He turned to look at Tinna instead.
Tinna was very nervous. Not only were the president and vice president of the Sovereign City Reclasser Association there, but there were also many other important people.
“Don’t worry, the badge is ready?” Aiden spoke softly.
He didn’t know many people from the White City, but he liked Tinna.
Tinna nodded quickly, took a deep breath, then handed Aiden the Profession Badge with both hands.
Luke looked at Tinna carefully and quietly asked Aiden, “You know her?”
Aiden replied, “A friend. She’s also from the White City.”
Luke immediately had an idea. If she was Aiden’s friend, it didn’t make sense for her to just be a receptionist here.
“Later, I should find her a better job,” Luke thought to himself.
At that moment, Henry couldn’t hold back anymore. He walked over quickly.
Aiden, Luke, Atlas, and Vance all turned their eyes to him at once.
Henry took a deep breath and said to Luke, “I got a message from the alchemist in the Sovereign City. You have a lot of Soul Essence to make potions.”
Luke calmly replied, “What does that have to do with you?”
Henry clenched his fists, then slowly opened them. He looked down and bit his lip, saying, “Logan needs a lot of Soul Essence to get better.”
“Tell me, where did you get all that Soul Essence?”
Luke laughed coldly. He wasn’t going to tell Henry that the Soul Essence came from Aiden.
But from Henry’s words, Luke actually felt satisfied with the Reclassers from the Great Shaw Empire who had entered the hidden realm before.
After all, they all saw the Soul Essence—it came from Aiden.
Luke shook his head and said directly, “Logan isn’t my son. What happens to him has nothing to do with me.”
“Besides, for Logan to get completely better, he needs at least seven or eight hundred Diamond Rank Soul Essences. I suggest you give up.”
Back when Henry tried to attack Aiden in the palace, he never imagined that the Soul Essence he now wanted so badly all belonged to Aiden.
Luke actually found it kind of funny to think about what Henry would do if he knew the truth.
“Tell me, you know how important Logan is!” Henry suddenly looked up and stared directly at Luke.
Atlas couldn’t stand it anymore. He quickly said, “You should know how valuable Soul Essence is. We don’t have much contact with the Miko clan, and there hasn’t been a big battle. There aren’t many Soul Essences left on Earth.”
“This stuff is rare, just like High-tier Demon’s Hearts. You can’t just find it anywhere.”
“Okay, move over. Victor and the others need to take their Class Change missions.”
There were only a few days left before the Global Reclasser Exchange Tournament started.
Victor and Jade needed to finish their Class Change missions as fast as possible and raise their levels as much as they could.
Nellie was still part of the Wycliffe Family, so she couldn’t truly represent the Great Shaw Empire.
The future of the empire would have to rely on Aiden and Victor.
Henry didn’t get an answer. He slowly closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. Just as Luke was about to turn away, he said one last thing.
“Evelyn is still alive.”
“Tell me where you got the Soul Essence, and I—”
Henry didn’t finish. Luke suddenly grabbed his collar.
Luke’s scarred face twisted with anger. He yelled, “What did you say?”
“She’s not dead?”
“Where is she?”
“Where?!”
In an instant, Luke went into battle mode. His body grew taller, and red chains dug into his flesh.
One hand held Henry’s tie, the other pulled out a big axe. His killing intent filled the whole room.
“Back then, if it wasn’t for you, Charles wouldn’t have betrayed the Great Shaw Empire!”
“Tell me! Where is Charles’s girlfriend Evelyn?”
