Chapter 53: The Abyss Retreats, a Heavy Victory
Chapter 53: Chapter 53: The Abyss Retreats, a Heavy Victory
The four-armed demon didn’t understand what was going on. The humans who were fighting back had, out of fear, run into the buildings of the city.
All the Abyss demons and monsters needed to do was find them, and the fear of death would naturally break the weak humans.
Before he became a demon noble, the four-armed demon had taken part in an invasion once.
He remembered that back then, all the humans he met either cried for mercy or did nothing but cause tiny injuries. Then he would bite off their heads.
The human brains had a delicious, sweet smell.
But today, the smell of death around him was mostly from his own allies!
The four-armed boss couldn’t figure it out. He looked down and saw something in a dead-end street.
A human warrior with one arm was using his remaining left hand to tightly squeeze the throat of an Abyss demon. The man even bit into the demon’s neck with his teeth.
Even though the demon had already pierced his stomach with its claws.
“This isn’t a normal human Reclasser!”
“We’ve been tricked! It’s a trap!” shouted the four-armed demon boss.
The demon with white bone wings suddenly stopped chasing Aiden.
Aiden hovered in the air, watching the terrible scene in the dead-end street. The Reclasser from The White City finally killed the Abyss demon, but he didn’t survive.
The man fell to the ground and looked directly into Aiden’s eyes.
He smiled, and with great effort, raised his thumb. He opened his mouth, trying to say something.
“General… tell the others… kill… more… more…” His arm fell heavily into the blood.
Aiden’s eye twitched, and his lips trembled slightly.
He knew that when a team suffered enough losses, everyone would break and stop fighting.
Using the small streets, alleys, and buildings of The White City could not only spread out the Abyss demons and monsters, but also prevent a large-scale retreat.
This strategy worked, but it was cruel.
The survivors of The White City could live if they followed him. But not everyone would make it.
Aiden’s throat moved up and down as he tried to say something, but in the end, only one word came out:
“Kill!”
His body was drained of a lot of magic power, and a thick shadow appeared in the sky.
As soon as the shadow appeared, Aiden disappeared.
Epic Skill: Shadow Stealth!
The four-armed demon boss, and the demon with huge white bone wings, suddenly became very nervous.
Aiden’s disappearance only made their fear worse.
It wasn’t the Abyss that invaded The White City. It was The White City that was hunting the Abyss demons and monsters on purpose!
“The Great Shaw Empire, Garvard University, Evan, coming to support!”
“The Great Shaw Empire, Ironvale student, coming to support! Everyone, the reinforcements are here!”
“The Great Shaw Empire…”
A group of young people quickly entered the center of the battle.
They shouted loudly. They knew what was most important at this moment — to let the survivors of The White City know that help had arrived, and this war was about to end!
“Reinforcements are here!”
“Counterattack!”
“Kill! The enemies of the Abyss are retreating! Don’t let them get away!”
“Brothers, General Aiden is still fighting!”
“Kill!”
Even though their bodies were full of wounds, even though their magic power was gone, even though they couldn’t pick up their weapons — the survivors of The White City still kept fighting.
After killing an enemy, they would look up at the sky, then charge forward again, without thinking about their lives.
More and more top students joined the battle. The demons and monsters of the Abyss began to retreat even faster.
The first Garvard University student to appear, Evan, suddenly jumped into the air. His Diamond Rank battle boots gave off two small wings, letting him fly.
“Demons, die!”
But before he could get close to the Abyss demon boss, he saw the two bosses turn and run toward a nearby space rift.
Evan was stunned. He thought, I haven’t even started fighting yet, and the enemies are already running away?
In the next moment, a figure suddenly appeared from the shadow — it was Aiden!
He stood right in front of the two Abyss demon bosses, blocking their escape path!
“Ultimate Frost!”
“Metal Element Arrow!”
All of his magic power was used up completely!
Aiden held nothing back. Right in front of him, dozens of golden arrows suddenly appeared — about sixty or seventy in total. They flew like a rainstorm, rushing toward the two Abyss demon bosses.
The two bosses tried to dodge, but Ultimate Frost had already appeared around them without them even noticing.
Even if it couldn’t completely freeze them, it was enough to slow them down.
“Ah ah ah ah!”
A painful scream filled the air. The four-armed Abyss demon boss had several big holes in his body.
The demon with white bone wings wasn’t any better. After being hit by Aiden’s attack, it could no longer fly and wobbled in the air.
The top students who had come to help didn’t miss the chance. They all attacked the two Abyss demon bosses.
Aiden wanted to keep fighting, but his magic power was completely gone. He couldn’t even stay in the air anymore.
His body fell quickly — and the place he was falling into was filled with more than a dozen regular Abyss demons.
The survivors of The White City nearby saw this and widened their eyes. They didn’t care about the enemies nearby any more. They ran toward Aiden like crazy.
A few regular Abyss demons noticed something. They looked up.
But when they saw it was Aiden — the one who had killed the noble demon lord — their faces turned pale with fear.
These demons ran away in panic, no longer daring to fight.
“General Aiden!”
“Sir!”
Even the survivors who were about to fall over reached out instinctively, trying to catch Aiden.
They never thought about it — in this situation, an adult’s weight was enough to crush a wounded person.
Luckily, a magic Reclasser raised his staff and cast a skill.
Several green vines shot up from the ground, weaving together into a green net that gently caught Aiden.
At the same time, the two Abyss demon bosses were being attacked by several top students. They let out loud, painful cries.
“Damn it! The Abyss won’t let you go!”
“Humans, you will all fall into the Abyss!”
Their voices grew weaker, and then they finally died.

Neither of the bosses was killed by Aiden. He could only get part of the experience.
Aiden wasn’t surprised.
At that moment, if he didn’t fight all out, at least one of the two Abyss bosses would have escaped.
High level materials would come later.
Right now, Aiden just wanted all the Abyss demons and monsters that had entered The White City to be killed — not one of them could leave alive.
He kept pouring magic potions into his mouth, hoping to keep fighting. But Evan slowly landed from the sky.
“You’re General Aiden, right? We’ll take care of the rest.”
Aiden looked at Evan with confusion.
Evan explained.”The Empress ordered Ironvale University and the top students from the Sovereign City Garvard University to come and support General Aiden.”
He bent down and bowed to Aiden, then turned around and ran off with the others to chase the enemies.
Aiden let out a breath. The Sovereign City had sent help. That meant more survivors from The White City would live.
“General, are you okay?” someone asked.
Aiden shook his head. He looked at the person and saw that his right arm was missing, and blood was still flowing.
So badly hurt, yet still worried about him.
Aiden’s magic power had recovered a little. He immediately used a Platinum Rank Light Healing Spell on the person.
The war had ended, but he still had things to do.
Aiden drank one potion after another, quickly moving to where the injured were. He and the support class students worked together to treat the seriously wounded.
As for the lightly injured, or those who weren’t about to die, Aiden didn’t even look at them.
No one knew how long had passed. When Kelsey and Vespera found him, Aiden was almost completely exhausted.
The high-intensity battle, plus using the Light Healing Spell non-stop, had pushed his body to the limit.
“Aiden, take a break.” Kelsey finally said.
Aiden shook his head. As soon as he stopped, images of all sorts of things filled his mind — especially the warrior Reclasser who had died in a dead-end alley.
That blood-covered thumb — he just couldn’t forget it.
Aiden wasn’t a cold-hearted person. The cruel tactics were only for victory, to save as many people from The White City as possible.
He felt no joy from winning — only a heavy heart.
Aiden walked into a dead-end alley. He wanted to separate the warrior Reclasser’s body from the demon.
It took a lot of strength to pull the man’s arm apart. He spoke quietly.”What you said, I’ll never forget.”
Later, Aiden returned to the place where they had first gathered.
Reclassers who weren’t seriously injured began cleaning up the battlefield, carrying the bodies of their fallen comrades.
One by one, the bodies were placed in the center of The White City.
Evan walked over, gave a bow first, and then said.”General, all the enemies have been cleared. The White City should soon be free and return to normal.”
“Normal?” Aiden looked around at the bodies, his eyes filled with sadness.
He didn’t know why, but he felt a heavy ache in his heart, and he wanted to do something to let it out.
“Everyone, come here.” Aiden said slowly. “I have something to say.”
Soon, all the survivors gathered in front of Aiden, just like they had at the beginning.
