Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 657: Heavenly Record

Chapter 657: Heavenly Record

Inside Nameless Death’s Shadow Space.

Even while his main body fought against Berserker, Barbatos, and Zagreus, he hadn’t stopped working.

In the background, a clone had been working tirelessly on the two foundations of his Path—[The Heavenly Record] and [The Nine Heavens].

The Nine Heavens were nine pseudo-worlds being created within the Womb of Devils.

And the Heavenly Record was the computational core—the brain, so to speak—that would monitor, store, and expand everything about the Path itself.

It was like a living system, crafted from memory and knowledge of Nameless Death himself.

For a long time, the project had been stagnant.

He couldn’t create life-forms that could pass on its gene of Heavenbreaker.

But now, something changed.

A voice echoed throughout the world.

Path of Eternal Transcendence.

Within the First Heaven, a flicker of life appeared.

It wasn’t a normal life, or a life that was a Heavenbreaker.

It was something else, something more evolutionary.

A child with a Heavenbreaker gene.

A child capable of passing that potential on.

Then, almost like dominoes, it happened in the other Heavens.

A life appeared in each Heaven.

All nine of them were Heavenbreakers and could pass on that gene.

Nameless Death’s clone, now being controlled by Nameless Death, looked at them.

“Finally. It’s done.”

Without delay, he snapped his fingers.

His shadow summons moved instantly.

Nine of them, each molded to act as guardians and guides, flew to the Heavens to care for the children.

It wasn’t about training them to fight.

They were still just children, after all.

Heavenbreakers or not, they’d need time, safety, and nurturing.

The shadow summons would keep them safe, take care of them, and teach them everything they needed.

He had done this before for other children, even ones that who didn’t become a Heavenbreaker.

Then, he turned to the side.

Floating above the center of the structure was the final Womb of Devil.

[The Heavenly Record]

The black cube-like device pulsed softly, rotating slowly as data swirled through it.

Countless equations, images, runes, and memories circled inside, forming a visual storm of information.

It was the womb that held the devil’s thoughts.

And the foundation that would manage his Path.

“I know there is a lot you want to talk about, but we have a problem to handle,” Nameless Death said, still watching through the clone’s eyes. “Come out and meet me there.”

He disconnected from the clone.

Zagreus’ POV

There was silence in the broken battlefield.

Berserker, Barbatos, and Zagreus stood still, their eyes locked onto Nameless Death.

The air around him had changed.

It wasn’t just his aura and presence.

His existence felt different.

It was stronger, more solidified.

And with each second, it was evolving.

Zagreus clenched his fists.

The problem wasn’t the Nameless Death’s Existence that was growing stronger.

It was what it meant.

Nameless Death had completed his Path.

That was the terrifying part.

All of them knew Nameless Death’s Path held infinite potential.

It was why they had been trying to stop it from being completed, or else there would be no meaning to the battle right now.

’What can his Path even do now?’ Zagreus thought.

Nameless Death slowly raised his hand.

A small, black cube floated out from his shadow and hovered above him.

The cube twitched.

It scanned the battlefield, then slowly floated down toward Nameless Death’s head.

After a second of eerie silence, it reshaped itself, turning into a black halo that hovered above his skull.

Then, something shifted again, but this time, it wasn’t visible to the others.

Lines appeared before Nameless Death.

He could see them clearly.

[Initiating Heavenly Record.]

[Initiation Complete.]

He paused, staring at the prompts.

It looked exactly like a system screen.

But far more refined than any system he’d seen before.

It didn’t surprise him.

Of course it looked like this.

The whole structure was supposed to be easy to understand for others.

And somehow, Nameless Death felt this type of system screen was something he was familiar with when using it to teach and guide others.

[Do you wish to register in the Heavenly Record?]

He didn’t hesitate.

“Yes.”

[Registering Neo Hargraves.]

[Registration Complete.]

[Level has been reset to 1.]

[Assigning Class…]

[Class: Godfather — Assigned.]

[Class: Administrator — Assigned.]

[Privilege Tier: Absolute.]

[You are now recognized as the Source Node.]

[Auto-Linking to all Nodes in the Nine Heavens.]

[Linking Complete.]

Nameless Death blinked once.

The messages were coming in fast, but he was processing all of them.

He noticed Barbatos and Zagreus hadn’t moved yet. Neither had Berserker.

Were they cautious?

Or, were they scared?

Whatever the reason, their hesitation gave him a moment to finish reading the interface.

He asked a question silently, through thought.

’So what can you do now?’

The system replied in a clear voice only he could hear.

[Right now, I can only use the abilities you already possess. Those are the only things stored in me.]

[Though, this will change when the inhabitants of the Nine Heavens grow stronger. As you already expected, this will take time.]

Nameless Death gave a faint smile.

True, he had expected that.

The Heavenly Record, despite being complete, was a long-term investment.

It wouldn’t make him all-powerful overnight.

His own growth would be slow, at first.

But it wouldn’t stay that way.

Once the people in the Nine Heavens started growing, once they began stepping onto their own versions of the Path, once the Records started accumulating their progress, his Path would begin snowballing.

It would start like a pebble tumbling down a slope.

Then it would become an avalanche.

Berserker grinned like someone who had been waiting too long for the next round to start.

He rolled his shoulders, then cracked his knuckles.

“Are you done sorting out your Path?”

Nameless Death nodded.

“Good. I was getting bored.” Berserker’s grin widened. “Hope you can keep up this time.”

He launched himself forward, Chaos and Void warping the ground beneath his feet as he moved.

A dull boom followed his takeoff.

Zagreus and Barbatos didn’t interfere.

Nameless Death noticed that.

They were waiting to see what he could do now.

He raised a hand, and a wall of Resonance Energy powered World Ender Flames burst from the ground in front of him.

He didn’t expect it to stop Berserker, but it gave him the second he needed.

Text shimmered before his eyes.

[Creating Cores]

[Number of Cores Created: 9]

Nine invisible orbs appeared behind his back, forming a perfect ring alongside the nine visible Cores he created before.

’Why are they invisible? My usual cores aren’t like this.’ Nameless Death asked, wondering if there was a problem.

[Because eighteen glowing orbs look ugly. Nine visible ones look better.]

’You did this… for appearance?’

[Yes.]

He didn’t even know what to say to that.

He wasn’t usually that nitpicky about aesthetics.

So why was Heavenly Record doing that?

’Is it already developing a personality?’

’Well, that’s good for me too.’

Before he could say anything else, Berserker burst through the flame wall.

The World Ender Flames warped around his body but didn’t stop him.

He raised a fist to strike—

Then the Heavenly Record activated Truth.

[Stop.]

Berserker’s body froze in midair, just inches away from Nameless Death’s face.

He was completely motionless.

The pressure around him vanished for a moment.

[Battlefield scan complete.]

[I have constructed an optimal short-term strategy.]

[Permission requested to alter all current Core structures and the techniques within.]

’You want to modify all of the cores?’

[Yes. To suit the present opponents: Berserker, Barbatos, and Zagreus. I have analyzed their weaknesses and prepared effective counters.]

He considered for a second.

This was what the Heavenly Record was made to do, wasn’t it?

’Go ahead.’

The orbs behind him started pulsing.

He felt the changes immediately.

His Cores—the techniques, the Concepts embedded in them, even the element alignments—all of them were stripped and overwritten.

Instead, new Concepts and techniques flowed in.

All of them belonged to only one element.

Holy.

It was a rarity on the Voraka Site, especially because the entire region was swamped in Chaos elementals.

Monsters with a natural Holy affinity were rare here, but when they did appear, they were dangerous.

Nameless Death watched as nine orbs behind him began to glow faint white.

[Please deploy your World, master.]

He raised his right hand and whispered,

The World.

Light exploded outward in all directions.

It wasn’t a typical World.

This was an eighteen-fold Resonance Energy powered Holy element World, modified and enhanced by the Heavenly Record.

And it showed.

Berserker broke free from the Freeze effect just as the World solidified around them.

He landed on the ground, blinking at the sudden change.

His grin faded slightly as he scanned the area.

“It’s that damned element.”

Even Barbatos and Zagreus were frowning.

Across the battlefield, Holy Element surged like a tidal wave, covering everything in brilliant white light.

They didn’t need to say it. They all felt the same thing.

Holy.

The one element that countered all dark-type elements.

Void, Chaos, Death, Shadow, and Darkness—the very powers that made up most of their existence—were naturally suppressed by it.

“Should we start the fight?” Nameless Death asked, confident.

Berserker opened his mouth to respond, but didn’t get the chance.

A massive hammer of pure Holy energy materialized above his head and slammed into him, driving him straight into the ground.

Just as he tried to push himself back up, two enormous hands formed behind Nameless Death and struck again, sending Berserker flying across the battlefield like a ragdoll.

He tried to retaliate.

Chaos and Void surged from his body like a flood.

But before the energies could take shape, they were erased — purified — by Holy.

Barbatos trembled.

His shadows receded, twitching as though alive, desperate to escape the area of effect.

But it wasn’t the shadows themselves that were reacting.

It was his World.

Nameless Death’s Holy World was based on the Concept [Purification].

That single word defined the entire space around them now.

The World had become a sanctuary.

A space where darkness wasn’t allowed to exist.

A place where corrupted or chaotic elements were forcefully removed.

Where evil powers were seen as stains, and the World acted to cleanse them.

Zagreus moved.

He dashed forward with blinding speed, aiming for a clean strike at Nameless Death.

But he didn’t get far.

Thousands of gigantic hands, glowing with Holy light, erupted from the sky like divine punishment.

They crashed down in waves, grabbing at Zagreus from every direction.

He tried to crush them.

But it didn’t work.

The hands closed around him.

They twisted his momentum, broke his flight, and sealed him inside a cage of glowing fingers and radiant barriers.

For a brief moment, only his head remained visible, eyes glaring with indignation.
