Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 701: Home

Chapter 701: Home

Felix’s shoulders sagged, and a sigh slipped from him.

“Sorry about that. It wasn’t exactly a good welcome.”

Another breath, heavier than the first, left his chest.

He lowered his head.

“I apologize on everyone’s behalf for how we acted just now. Your appearance was too sudden, and the fact that you attacked right when you arrived threw everyone into chaos. We weren’t ready for that.

“I hope you can forgive us, and we can sit down and talk again like we used to.”

Neo didn’t answer.

He didn’t even move.

His gaze was fixed on Felix, but there was nothing spoken in return.

Felix raised his head slowly.

He could see countless emotions in Neo’s eyes.

Anger, pain, confusion, and something deeper that even he couldn’t place.

Felix opened his mouth again, ready to say something, anything that might help, but he stopped himself.

What comfort could he offer now?

After what had just happened, any words would sound empty.

So instead of forcing something meaningless, Felix straightened.

His expression shifted back to a professional calm.

He pulled up his sleeve.

A faint glow shimmered along the skin of his arm, and he revealed the Dragon Mark etched into his flesh.

“We need to talk about this,” Felix said firmly. “So please… send me a message when you have time. It’s important.”

Neo’s frown deepened.

His eyes stayed on the mark.

Even with the headache tearing his mind apart, he forced himself to focus.

The mark carried a presence that tugged at his memory.

’That… it feels like Brother, after he awakened his Ancient Dragon Blood.’

Felix noticed the reaction.

“Seems like you recognize it,” he said, but his eyes kept searching Neo’s face for confirmation.

Neo didn’t answer.

“See you later.” Felix gave the faintest nod.

Without adding more, he let the glow fade and disappeared, leaving nothing behind but the ripple of mana.

Jack finally broke the silence. “Neo—”

“Later,” Percival cut him off sharply, though his tone wasn’t unkind. “Let him rest for now. You can talk to him when he’s ready, when his mind is clearer.”

Jack looked troubled, caught between worry and reluctance.

After a pause, he nodded, though the tension didn’t leave his shoulders.

“Don’t leave without meeting us again,” he said. With that, he vanished as well, pulling Ilyana with him.

The void grew quiet again.

Only Neo and Percival remained in the space.

The air felt lighter without the others, but the silence was still heavy.

“…Thanks,” Neo said after a long moment.

“There’s no need to thank me. I only spoke the truth.” Percival waved his hand lightly, as if brushing the weight of the moment aside. “Come. Follow me.”

He didn’t wait for a response.

A circle of light opened beneath them, and the space bent.

In the next instant, they were high above the city, drifting in the clear sky.

The view stretched wide in every direction.

Lakes glittered like mirrors beneath the sunlight, their surfaces disturbed only by the wind.

Rivers threaded through the land, bending around patches of green fields.

Below, streets wound across the city, where people—demigods, mortals, and children—walked freely.

Laughter carried faintly even from this height, blending with the sound of bells from a distant tower.

The sky itself seemed almost too blue, as though the air here had been washed clean of every shadow.

Percival let Neo take it in.

His voice carried a touch of pride when he finally spoke. “This is the world you saved. Every life you see down there exists because of you. They’re thriving, because you gave them the chance to.”

Neo didn’t answer right away.

His eyes lingered on the people below, at the children weaving between their parents, at the demigods who strolled through the streets without worry.

The headache eased a little.

Percival placed a hand on his shoulder.

“That,” he said, pointing toward a wide estate near the city’s edge, “is my mansion. You’ll be staying there. Pick any of the empty rooms and rest for today. Or, if you’d prefer, you can explore the city. I can’t come with you because of my rank—my presence would cause more trouble than peace—but I can send someone to guide you.”

Since Neo was a Heavenbreaker, he didn’t need to worry like Percival and others about killing random people due to their presence and name

“I’ll rest.”

“If you say so,” Percival said, lowering his hand. “Then let’s head down.”

The light bent again, and in a blink they were standing on the estate grounds.

The mansion loomed in front of them.

Its structure was simple and grand in its own way.

Wide courtyards stretched around it, dotted with trimmed hedges and clear pools.

The air here felt heavier than in the city.

Neo understood why quickly enough.

The place was quiet, too quiet.

For a mansion of that size, it felt almost empty.

There were no attendants moving about, no guards patrolling, no servants keeping the grounds.

Only the wind moved through the trees.

“Don’t let the emptiness bother you,” Percival said as they walked toward the entrance. “It isn’t unusual. With my strength, very few can stay here. The weak ones… they wouldn’t survive. Hearing my name alone is enough to crush most demigods. And if they ever stood before me directly, their bodies wouldn’t hold. Injuries would come before they even realized it.”

Neo glanced at him, and though Percival’s tone was casual, he could hear the weight behind those words.

Power wasn’t something that could be hidden.

The heavy doors opened with a quiet push, revealing the interior.

The halls stretched wide, lined with smooth stone and high windows that let the sunlight spill across the floor.

Percival gestured toward the hall branching left.

“You’ll find the guest rooms down that way. Take whichever you like. Rest, recover, clear your thoughts. We’ll talk tomorrow about what comes next.”

Neo gave a slow nod. “Alright.”

Percival turned to leave, but before he could take a step, Neo spoke.

“Is that Morrigan’s room?”

He had already located her presence in one of the guest rooms.

Percival stopped and looked back at him.

His gaze lingered at Neo for a few seconds.

Then he gave a small nod.
