Extra's Death: I Am the Son of Hades

Chapter 722: Help

Chapter 722: Help

He raised a second finger.

“Second, the Deathbounds—the Grim Reapers who have retired—will return to fight if the ancient dragons attack you or the other Grim Reapers. But the dragons know this too. If they move, it will be with a plan to counter the Deathbounds.”

Finally, he raised a third finger.

“Third, under no circumstances let anyone know the Monarch is dead. This news cannot spread. If it does… the end will arrive.”

Neo nodded slowly.

He had already guessed as much, but hearing it confirmed by Bael carried a different weight.

The death of Hades was the kind of truth that could topple order.

Do the Supremes know he is dead?

The palace was filled with elemental created by Bael.

Ambient elementals couldn’t slip through this fortress, which meant the world at large should still be blind to the truth.

But the Supremes… some of them might already know.

Neo broke the silence. “Do you know a secluded location?”

Bael tilted his head. “Why?”

“I need to create my breakthrough. If I attempt it on Earth, the energy and shockwaves will destroy too much. It might even tear a hole through a portion of the galaxy.”

Bael regarded him for a moment, then opened his palm.

A strange vortex swirled into existence above it, small yet radiating impossible depth.

“You can do your breakthrough inside this.”

Neo’s eyes narrowed. “What is it?”

“A Pocket Universe,” Bael answered casually, as though it were nothing more than a tool.

Neo was genuinely surprised.

As far as he knew, creating a true black hole was an achievement worthy of Stage 6 Gods, and yet Bael created a pocket universe so easily.

He quickly pushed the reaction down, forcing his face to remain calm.

“Alright.”

He gave a short nod, then his body blurred into a streak of light.

Without hesitation, he entered the vortex and vanished into the endless depth of the Pocket Universe.

Jack POV

Felix and Jack moved quickly through the streets, heading toward the estate where Ilyana was staying.

The city was calm on the surface, but both of them felt the weight of what they were about to discuss.

Jack walked a little slower than usual.

His shoulders were tense, and his gaze stayed fixed on the path ahead.

Felix noticed the hesitation and broke the silence.

“I know you don’t want to ask for help again, Jack,” she said softly. “But this time, we don’t have any other choice.”

Jack gave a quiet nod.

“I know.”

His voice was low, almost flat.

Felix studied his face for a moment.

His expression didn’t look good.

There was no anger in it, but the discomfort was clear.

Jack had always carried things heavily when it came to Ilyana.

She had given Earth everything she could—resources, information, manpower—and she had never once asked for anything in return.

Yet Jack had rejected her personally, time and time again.

The guilt weighed on him now more than ever.

Neither of them spoke again as they reached the estate.

Guards bowed respectfully as they passed through the gates and entered the main building.

Inside, the corridors were wide and decorated with elegance, though neither of them paid much attention to it.

Finally, they arrived at a luxurious room on the second floor.

The familiar space was polished yet comfortable, a blend of authority and warmth.

It was one of the guest chambers in Jack’s family estate, though Ilyana had made it her temporary base.

Ilyana sat near the window when they entered.

A pot of tea was already on the table, steam rising from the cups.

She looked calm, though her eyes flicked toward Jack with a brief flicker of something neither of them could name.

“Felix. Jack.” Ilyana gestured for them to sit. “You came sooner than I expected.”

Felix smiled politely and moved to the table. “It’s urgent.”

Jack sat across from Ilyana, his movements stiff.

He avoided her gaze at first, but when she poured the tea and handed him a cup, he finally met her eyes.

“Thank you,” he said quietly.

They all took a moment to drink.

The silence wasn’t uncomfortable exactly, but it wasn’t relaxed either.

Ilyana seemed patient, waiting for them to speak.

Felix set her cup down. “We need to talk about something serious. Ancient dragons. They’re coming.”

The words cut through the room like a blade.

Ilyana’s expression shifted immediately.

The eased expression disappeared, replaced by sharp focus. She leaned forward slightly, her eyes narrowing. “You’re certain?”

“Yes,” Felix said. “Neo confirmed it. They might not move right away, but it’s only a matter of time.”

Jack remained quiet, but his clenched hands around the cup betrayed his mood.

Ilyana let out a slow breath.

“Ancient dragons… that complicates everything.”

Her gaze drifted toward the window for a moment before she looked back at them.

“Alright. I’ll call reinforcements from the Forgotten Suns. We can’t handle something like this with our current strength.”

Felix nodded but added, “Be careful. If the dragons find out reinforcements are coming, they might move early. They’ll want to finish everything before your forces arrive.”

Ilyana’s lips pressed into a thin line.

“I understand.”

She paused, her eyes briefly landing on Jack again.

Leonora POV

Leonora was dreaming again.

The dream was sharp and clear, not the vague haze that usually came with sleep.

She stood in a place that felt like a reflection of herself.

Open waters stretched endlessly.

The sky above rippled as though it were made of glass.

In front of her stood a woman who looked just like her.

The resemblance was so uncanny that anyone else would have thought they were twins.

But Leonora knew better.

“You’re going to help, right?” Leonora asked.

The woman crossed her arms. “Am I?”

The woman smiled, the kind of smile that looked soft but carried a teasing weight behind it.

This was the Supreme of Water, one of the most powerful beings in existence.

“You promised you would show the past to Amelia,” Leonora said.

Her tone was calm, but there was firmness in it. “That’s the only way to prove to her that Neo was actually unable to return. Otherwise, she’ll think it’s all a lie.”

After Neo’s sudden arrival, Layla had contacted Leonora in secret.

Normally, Leonora would have ignored her, like always.

Unlike other Grim Reapers and Grim Reaper disciples, Leonora never listened to her orders, saying they were stupid commands.

But this time, she had listened.

And now she was here, pressing the matter with someone who rarely gave straight answers.

The Supreme tilted her head, eyes glinting like the ocean under sunlight. “Showing the memories won’t change anything. That child will hate him regardless.”

Leonora’s jaw tightened. “Then—”

“But,” the Supreme interrupted smoothly, “I do have a way to help her.”

The suspicious smile on her lips made Leonora frown. “What do you want in return?”

The woman’s eyes twinkled with mischief.

“Just say what you want.”

“Call me grandma in return. Just once. Please?”

Leonora blinked at her.

Her expression shifted into something caught between disbelief and exasperation.

The look on her face said clearly: I’m your daughter, and you want me to call you grandmother? Do you have some strange kinks?

The Supreme of Water let out a rueful chuckle, as though she could read every unspoken word in Leonora’s eyes.

Her daughter had been Olivia von Villiers, Leonora’s ’previous’ mother.

But the day the Eternals erased Olivia, the paradoxes that spun through the timeline twisted reality.

Leonora had been pulled into that empty space, becoming Olivia’s daughter instead.

It wasn’t something the Supreme could forget.

The Water Supreme clenched her fists at the memory.

The pain of that day still lived fresh in her body, the day her true daughter was ripped away. The wrath she felt toward the Eternals had never faded. But she couldn’t touch hem. Not yet.

She forced the anger away and replaced it with a coy smile.

Floating lightly through the air, she circled Leonora as though trying to coax a child into agreement.

“Are you not going to say it? Then I’ll leave—”

“Wait!” Leonora’s fists tightened at her sides.

The Supreme paused mid-turn, her smile never fading.

Leonora gritted her teeth.

The longer she stayed quiet, the more she could feel herself being toyed with.

And the more the other woman enjoyed it.

Finally, Leonora let out a sharp breath.

“…Grandma,” she muttered under her breath, barely loud enough to be heard.

The Supreme’s eyes widened with delight. “Oh, my cutie!”

Before Leonora could react, she was pulled into a crushing embrace.

The hug was strong enough to make her regret giving in to the demand in the first place.

“Let me go!” Leonora struggled against the grip. “And complete our deal already!”

The Supreme only laughed, squeezing her tighter, as though the word “grandma” had given her more joy than anything else could.

Leonora groaned, half from frustration and half from resignation. Somehow, she had walked right into this.
