Chapter 860 Sweet Words, Honest Affirmations
Despite his earlier difficulty with meditation, Abaddon excelled at being quiet now.
He hadn’t made so much as a single peep during the entire time he’d been back in his room. This was probably the first time that Bekka ever realized the her husband was not a particularly quiet man.
“…Loudmouth.” She snickered.
“Hm?” Abaddon cracked open the eye on his forehead.
“I just realized that you have quite the loud personality. All other times except now, that is.” She smirked.
Abaddon seemed slightly caught off guard. “I just wanted to make sure that you could focus properly.”
Bekka smiled at him. “I figured. You’re sweet to try, but it would probably help a lot more if you behaved like normal. Gave me something else to focus on other than my stomach eating itself.”
Abaddon nodded slowly. “Right…” Suddenly, he was as nervous as when he first laid eyes on Bekka, and didn’t know what to say to her.
Obviously he wanted to talk about the battle the girls had, and what he had learned from Oblivion earlier- but those were heavy topics to get into.
If he could, he preferred to keep things light for now. At least so that Bekka didn’t have anything else to worry about.
“Come on, you’re not going to wake these two up.” Bekka gestured to Seras and Odessa. “No need to seem so meek.”
Abaddon finally sighed as he allowed himself to lay down next to her.
He slipped his hand into hers as the two of them stared at the ceiling.
“…Shin has a crush on my aunt.”
Bekka laughed dryly. “Lusamine? That’s certainly… a choice. Doesn’t he know that she’s likely to eat a man like him alive?”
“Of course he doesn’t.” Abaddon scoffed as he gently ran his thumb over her knuckles. “But then again, it’s not something I actually expect him to act on. The heads of the Order take sacred vows, remember?”
“Oh yea…” Bekka shivered. “I pity those guys. What would I do if I couldn’t lay up beside my favorite piece of man meat whenever I wanted?” She kissed his cheek.
Abaddon could only smile wryly, which made Bekka raise her brow.
“What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing..” Abaddon denied.
“You’re going to lie to the mother of your children? In front of this baby?” Bekka pointed to Odessa.
Abaddon remained at a loss for words. “I have no idea what-“
“Usually when one of us gives you compliments you’re all cute and blushing and stuff. Like you haven’t learned to accept them.”
Abaddon almost looked offended. “I haven’t the foggiest idea of what you are talking about… and I am not ‘cute’. “
Bekka grabbed her husband by the horn and pulled him in close.
Their lips were only centimeters away from each other; allowing Abaddon to feel the warmth of her body against his own, and smell the cinnamon-like scent that oozed from her very pores.
He was sure that the sound of his heartbeat was clearly playing in her ears as well as his own.
She met his eyes with her own, bright mischievous ones. Her gaze never wavered for even a second, and bore into him like the sun.

“I. Love. You.” Bekka made sure to say every word especially slowly so that they would further rattle around in his ears. “You are the greatest husband and and partner I could ask for. Thank you for sticking beside me.”
Abaddon’s ears became as hot as a furnace.
Being Sex & Sexuality means that Abaddon is used to compliments on his physical appearance. He hasn’t paid any of them any mind in years.
But words of affirmation from his wives just hit his ear differently every time.
“I-I-I-“
“Gotcha!” Bekka gloated.
Odessa stirred on her chest and she quickly covered her mouth.
The child eventually settled back down, having only moved to momentarily change position.
Relieved, Bekka uncovered her mouth and turned back to her husband.
Spill it. She mouthed.
Now that he had been cornered so firmly, Abaddon didn’t believe that he had a choice.
“Oblivion shared something with me… something we should have considered before.” He admitted.
Bekka thought that her husband was just going to say he was worried about her again. She had forgotten all about his meeting with the oldest of the Egoless.
“Something like..?”
Abaddon rubbed the back of his head. “Your names. Your true names.” He clarified. “Chaos was the one who gave them to you.”
Clearly shocked, Bekka needed several seconds to digest all of that information.
“Then… the reason we can merge is likely because-“
“It’s the body Chaos has prepared for you, yes.” He nodded grimly.
Bekka didnt have any quips or smart comments this time. This was a very shocking event to her.
“Then.. we have to be extra careful now. Those who name demons can exert control over them, so… Unless it will be another exception like you and Lucifer?” Her question was laced with a distinct hopeful undertone.
Unfortunately, that didn’t mean Abaddon was any more capable of giving her an answer that she liked.
“I don’t believe so. Yesh had made me far before Lucifer ever tried to name me. Of course he could not control me. We know not whether it will be the same for any of you.”
Bekka nodded slowly- seemingly not surprised by his assessment. “What about our little Winter Wonderland?”
Abaddon bit back a smile. “At present, Sif doesn’t seem to be in as much danger as the rest of you as she has no true name.”
“That’s good then… Though she probably won’t like that very much.”
Abaddon couldn’t deny that she was right.
For a jotunn, Sif was undeniably hot-headed.
She would likely see Chaos’ lack of interest in her as some sort of comment on her worthiness and fly into a murderous rage.
She was cute like that.
“That guy today… we didn’t beat him.” Bekka confessed.”Lillian did not feel herself grip him. He’s escaped Death’s embrace.”
Abaddon nodded slowly. “I heard.”
“He was a maniacal thing, you know? He’ll be popping up with a vengeance sooner or later.”
“And we’ll be ready to kill him when he does.” Abaddon vowed. “No one who harms one of our children will go unpunished.”
Bekka fought back a smile as she closed her eyes. “You know… I love when you say things like that.”
Abaddon’s ears became increasingly warm again. He could almost fry eggs on them at this point.
“I…”
When he looked down at the bed again, he replied that Bekka had drifted off to sleep. Her mental fatigue seemingly finally catching up to her.
Truthfully, he was quite grateful. The fact that she was comfortable enough to go to sleep at all meant that her hunger was no longer getting the best of her.
Maybe she’d even allow herself to eat whenever she woke up.
Abaddon leaned down and kissed her forehead gently. He then lifted Odessa from her place atop her mother and carried her towards the crib near the foot of their bed.
As he placed her down, the rest of the wives came in one after the other. They had each seemed to have had an equally long day.
He held his finger to his lips in a quiet gesture, and then held his arms out for the women to come towards him.
The girls didnt even consider hesitating for a single moment as they all somehow forced their way into his massive embrace.
For a while, no one spoke. Not even telepathically.
As of right now, all that they or anyone else wanted was a moment just to hold each other like this.
Everything else could almost certainly wait until later.

When Izanami left the house, she didn’t have a particular destination in mind.
She just wanted to go somewhere that she would not feel mortified.
If she were honest, she would probably never want to go back to the house again. How was she just supposed to show her face after that rude woman just strode in and told the entire family all of that embarrassing stuff about her?
She would quite literally rather die instead!
Izanami didn’t want to go back to the old swamp she used to live in either. She was almost positive that going back to that lonely place would only make her feel worse about herself.
And even worse, that would likely be the first place that Nyx looked for her.
Even now, she could feel the night goddess hot on her trail, no matter how hard she might’ve been working to avoid her.
But Izanami was firm in her decision. She didn’t want to see anyone, and she didn’t want anyone to see her.
She ended up finding a cave that went deep underground.
The further down she went, the more the scenery beautified itself.
All of the rocks making up the wall went from a drab black to an odd cerulean blue. Large, shining mana stones jutted out of the walls around her. Most were easily big enough to crush her underneath them.
At a certain point, Izanami could no longer even see the cavern ceiling. It must’ve been hundreds of meters above her head.
Given that she now lived in the land of dragons, she didn’t necessarily find such a thing to be out of place or strange.
But what did catcher off guard was the magic in the air.
There was so much of it that she could feel it in her bones, her fingernails, her teeth.
Even her new clothes were starting to hum and glow in a way that definitely wasn’t normal.
But by far, Izanami felt the strongest magical force was at the pool at the bottom of the cavern. Or perhaps it was more sufficient to call it a lake…
There was a strange smell in the area that she couldn’t quite place. She just knew that it made her really lightheaded.
But before she could do any more investigating, the cavern began to rumble around her, and she recognized the thunderous sound of footsteps approaching.
