Chapter 2414 - Piercing the Clouds to Reveal the Moon

Chapter 2414 – Piercing the Clouds to Reveal the Moon

Su Yi had come.

He walked leisurely through the seemingly endless demon hordes, approaching Dao-Seeking City.

This made him the center of attention.

But before he’d reached his destination, he whipped his head around to look at Master God Tian Jing, the one hanging from the torture rack.

Su Yi’s eyes narrowed, and he stopped in place, then turned to face the demon army. He gazed at the Emperor-Level experts and said, “What’s the meaning of this?”

It was just one light, airy sentence, but the atmosphere was instantly stifled and tense.

“This is prey we captured during a duel,” Demon Emperor Chi Nie said calmly. “You only just returned to the Boundless Battlefield, and you don’t yet know what happened over the past few years, so I wouldn’t mind giving you a bit of time to learn the situation from your fellows.”

He seemed extraordinarily confident and fearless, as if he wasn’t the least bit afraid that Su Yi’s return would stir up any waves in Dao-Seeking City.

But Su Yi paid him no heed. He just pointed to the unconscious Demon Master Tian Jing and said, “Learning the situation can wait. Let him go immediately.”

It was just two sentences, without the slightest ripple of emotion. They echoed throughout the area.

Demon Emperor Chi Nie and the other experts were unwittingly stunned. They could never have imagined that Su Yi would be so domineering before even taking the time to learn the situation.

He obviously wasn’t taking anyone here the least bit seriously!

The Outsider Celestial Demon army was especially flabbergasted, to the point that they almost dared not believe their ears. Li Fuyou’s reincarnation hasn’t even become a Master God yet. Where does he get the courage to be so domineering?

“You overestimate yourself,” said Demon Emperor Ming Ye. “Su Yi, what gives you the right to command us to free our captive?”

His gaze shifted to the suspended Master God Tian Jing. “Aren’t you afraid that… we’ll just kill him if you keep being so domineering?”

He spoke with the utmost disdain.

Su Yi’s gaze was as cold as ever. “I’ll say it just once. Let him go, or don’t. Weigh the consequences for yourself.”

He paused, then extended three fingers. “I wouldn’t mind giving you a little time to think it over. You have until the count of three.”

Everyone was stunned, their eyes widening in disbelief.

Su Yi was the one who ought to have felt threatened, yet here he was, turning around to threaten them, instead!

And he was only giving them until the count of three to think it over. How was that any different from an ultimatum? How could he be so arrogant?

Luo Yao and the others in Dao-Seeking City gasped. All of them were stunned. Su Yi had only just gotten here. They couldn’t even imagine where he got the confidence to face the endless demon hordes and issue orders so domineeringly!

It was completely unexpected.

The cold smile vanished from Demon Emperor Ming Ye’s face. He and the other Emperor-Level experts looked at Demon Emperor Chi Nie.

But Demon Emperor Chi Nie just said calmly, “No need for a count. As a gift to commemorate our reunion after all these years apart, I’ll let him go immediately.”

With that, he personally took Master God Tian Jing off the rack and passed him to Su Yi from afar.

The Outsider Celestial Demons exchanged glances. The Emperor-Level experts frowned, unsure of why Demon Emperor Chi Nie was doing this.

Su Yi took hold of Master God Tian Jing and looked him over. His brow furrowed. Master God Tian Jing’s soul was badly injured; its source energies had been damaged.

That aside, his vitality was on the verge of drying up completely. Su Yi didn’t even need to think to know that his flesh had been used as fodder for Deathless Body Demons to absorb and refine.

Similarly, his soul had been stripped and devoured by Thousand Transformation Soul Demon experts!

His injuries were so severe that even if he lived on, he had little hope of ever recovering his peak cultivation base!

Off in the distance, Demon Emperor Chi Nie said, “Right, problems have arisen with Master God Tian Jing’s mental state, too. If he wakes up, he’s at risk of losing himself at a moment’s notice. You’d all best take care.”

Luo Yao and the others’ hearts sank. No wonder they let Tian Jing go so easily. His Dao Heart has already crumbled!

External powers can repair his body and soul, but if there are problems with his Dao Heart… that’s truly troublesome!

Su Yi retained his outer calm, but the depths of his gaze grew colder and more indifferent. Those who understood him knew that, he… was completely enraged!

“This was a decent greeting gift. Do you have any others?” asked Su Yi. As he spoke, he passed Master God Tian Jing to Luo Yao and the others on the walls of Dao-Seeking City.

The whole time, his gaze was locked onto Demon Emperor Chi Nie.

Demon Emperor Chi Nie made no attempt to avoid Su Yi’s gaze. He said calmly, “We have quite a few. We prepared all of them for you.”

“Why not take them all out to show me?” asked Su Yi, his gaze increasingly indifferent, and the atmosphere increasingly tense.

Demon Emperor Chi Nie laughed. “Don’t be in such a rush. Let’s take things one step at a time. I said I’d give you a bit of time to grasp the situation first. Once you’ve learned the situation in Dao-Seeking City, as well as the Boundless Battlefield as a whole, you’ll likely understand what you ought to do next.”

Su Yi remained unmoved. He said calmly, “I’m not interested in learning what happened right now. Just answer three of my questions, and that’ll be plenty.”

Demon Emperor Chi Nie smiled. “I’ll clean out my ears and listen attentively.”

“You’ve surrounded Dao-Seeking City all these years because you were waiting for me to return to the Boundless Battlefield, right?” asked Su Yi.

Luo Yao and the others were instantly solemn. Their expressions shifted. They’d been wondering about this very question, too.

After all, the Outsider Celestial Demons invaded the Boundless Battlefield way back when the Tribulation of the Five Witherings first erupted.

Their ranks weren’t limited to just Emperor-Level experts, either. There were progenitors too: Old Man Heart Demon, Progenitor Huang Qi, and Progenitor Huan Yan.

If the Demon Progenitors attacked, crushing Dao-Seeking City… wouldn’t be difficult!

Yet they’d simply surrounded the city all this time, and not one of the Outsider Celestial Demon Progenitors had attacked. Anyone would have found this strange.

When Su Yi asked his question, Luo Yao and the others instantly came to their senses and realized the crux of the matter. If the Celestial Demons were surrounding the city while they waited for Su Yi, everything made sense!

In the face of this question, Demon Emperor Chi Nie just inclined his head. “That’s right.”

Su Yi had already fallen into their trap. There was no need to hide it any further.

So, that really was it… Luo Yao and the others felt a rising sense of foreboding.

Who could have imagined that, after fighting bathed in blood all these years, bitterly holding onto their last fortress, it turned out that they were just… bait the demons were using to lure Su Yi here?

The Outsider Celestial Demons had rallied their forces, going to great lengths to set a trap. All of this had to be part of a meticulously planned trap for Su Yi!

When they realized this, their hearts sank.

But Su Yi remained unmoved. “Here’s my second question: is Old Man Heart Demon in the Boundless Battlefield now?”

Old Man Heart Demon was the progenitor of the Formless Heart Demons. Those who honored him called him Celestial Progenitor Ling Mi, while those from the God Domain habitually referred to him as Old Man Heart Demon.

“He is,” said Demon Emperor Chi Nie. He paused, then added, “It isn’t just him, either. The other progenitors have long since entered the Boundless Battlefield.”

Luo Yao and the others’ hearts clenched.

Before the Boundless Barrier had fallen, the progenitors of the Outsider Celestial Demon could never have entered the Boundless Battlefield.

But everyone knew how terrifyingly strong they were. Their mere clones were strong enough to defeat Nine-Tribulation Master Gods. Of course, their true bodies were even stronger!

“Why ask about all that?” Demon Emperor Chi Nie asked suddenly.

Su Yi gazed into the dome of heaven. “I just wanted to ascertain what the arrival of the Tribulation of the Five Witherings meant to the Outsider Celestial Demons.”

He paused, and his gaze shifted back to Demon Emperor Chi Nie. “Now, I just about understand. This tribulation hasn’t just ravaged the Boundless Battlefield; it’s destroyed your nest, too. You… have no home to return to!”

His voice boomed throughout heaven and earth, causing a disturbance in the demons’ ranks.

The Emperor-level experts couldn’t help but frown.

When Luo Yao and the others saw this, how could they fail to realize that Su Yi had hit the nail right on the head?

No one could escape the Tribulation of the Five Witherings. Even the Outsider Celestial Demons’ home amidst the stars had been destroyed.

Perhaps that was the real reason they’d invaded the Boundless Battlefield!

“Does that matter now?” Demon Emperor Chi Nie said coldly.

“Of course it matters,” said Su Yi. “Because it proves that you have nowhere to go but the Boundless Battlefield!

“As the Tribulation of the Five Witherings spreads, the damage to the battlefield will grow more and more severe. In the end, it will be destroyed outright.”

Su Yi left the rest unsaid, but his meaning was readily apparent. The Tribulation of the Five Witherings had destroyed the demons’ home, but they wouldn’t be able to survive in the Boundless Battlefield for long, either!

The more time passed, the greater the threat, and the greater the damage. If they didn’t find a way out, they’d be destroyed with the Boundless Battlefield!

Luo Yao and the others exchanged glances. They understood this, too.

Su Yi’s second question was indeed critical. He’d seized onto a truth they’d been previously unaware of. The Outsider Celestial Demons’ future wasn’t looking bright, either!

“You’re jumping to conclusions,” Demon Emperor Chi Nie said calmly. “The Celestial Demons haven’t just found a way out. We even plan to vie for supremacy during the Dark Days of Legend. We’ll compete for power, and establish ourselves as the rulers of the heavens!”

The demon army practically boiled over, their spirits soaring.

Su Yi pointed to himself. “Here’s my third question: does the ‘way out’ you speak of have anything to do with me?”

Demon Emperor Chi Nie’s eyes narrowed. The other Emperor-Level experts looked caught in the act, too, and their expressions darkened.

Demon Emperor Chi Nie didn’t answer, but it was obvious that Su Yi was right on the money again!

Luo Yao and the others finally understood. The Outsider Celestial Demons had surrounded Dao-Seeking City all this time to force Su Yi to come to their aid. They’d done this because Su Yi was the key to their survival.

That was what they were really after!

Each of Su Yi’s questions revealed new truths, shedding greater light on the Outsider Celestial Demons’ schemes. His allies couldn’t help but sigh with admiration.

He’s as sharp as his sword. Every question hit them right where it hurt, piecing the clouds to reveal the moon!

This is Li Fuyou!

No… in this lifetime, his name is Su Yi!
