Chapter 2570 - The Silver-Robed Man’s Identity
Chapter 2570 – The Silver-Robed Man’s Identity
The gambling match ended the moment the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King lost his composure, and a grand battle broke out.
But it was over within moments. A whole group of Chaos Kings and Fiend Lords died in battle, as well as over a thousand other chaos fiends!
Strictly speaking, they hadn’t just “died.” Su Yi had killed them all himself!
It was just too terrifying!
By now, Liao Yuanshan and the others no longer saw Su Yi as a fellow Master God, nor did they see him as Half-Step Eternal.
Many of them subconsciously assumed that Su Yi had already stepped into Eternity!
The atmosphere was deathly silent. All was still. Everyone stood there for a long time, unable to calm down. No one said a word.
“Strange.” After a while, Su Yi’s brow furrowed, as if he’d noticed something inexplicable.
But then, he shook his head and turned to rejoin the group.
That streak of blue-green divine radiance had been like a natural barrier, but it vanished without a trace as soon as the silver-robed man put it away.
When he saw Su Yi return, the silver-robed man’s eyes shone with a strange light. He sighed. “I suddenly realize that my presence here is entirely extraneous.”
He hadn’t helped at all. Su Yi effortlessly handled everything himself!
The silver-robed man couldn’t help but laugh at himself.
Su Yi glanced at him. “You aren’t here for the Fragment of Heaven’s Will, nor are you here for the Lucky Die, so why are you here?”
The silver-robed man laughed. “That’s no longer important.”
“Oh,” said Su Yi. He didn’t ask again.
The silver-robed man hadn’t shown any sign of ill will. On the contrary, he’d tried to lend a hand twice.
Su Yi hadn’t asked him to do that, but still, he’d expressed his good intentions. Su Yi wasn’t overly grateful, but he wasn’t particularly averse to the guy, either.
“Brother Fuyou, is that… you?” The Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor shot out of the palace, excitement all over his aged face.
He’d heard Liao Yuanshan and the others cries of excitement, and he’d noticed someone using the title “Sword Venerate Su.” That aside, the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor had seen Su Yi use the Sword of Proximity.
“Who else would come all this way to save you?” laughed Su Yi.
The Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor grinned. “Hahaha! I wondered where another sword cultivator as powerful as you could have come from. So, it was you all along!”
Sword Venerate Su!
The Master Gods in the hall exchanged glances. They finally realized what was going on.
It was just… they felt as if they were dreaming. They still couldn’t imagine how Su Yi had become so terrifying!
“Oh no! The Lucky Die is escaping!” The silver-robed man slapped his thigh and called out.
A streak of dark light flashed through the sky, then quickly vanished into the night.
“It isn’t ‘escaping.’ Someone is behind this,” Su Yi said with a frown.
The Lucky Die was a Taboo Treasure, and it was incomparably mystical. Su Yi had been able to force it to obey him earlier because his body harbored the power of the Epoch Spark, and it suppressed the Lucky Die.
Thus, not even the Heaven-Trampling Chaos King could control the Lucky Die any longer.
Yet now, someone had somehow run off with it!
“The Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend?” asked the silver-robed man.
Su Yi inclined his head. “Most likely, yes.”
The crowd was stunned, and their scalps went numb.
The Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend was an absolutely terrifying existence far beyond the Seven Chaos Kings and Eight Fiend Lords.
Like a primordial deity among chaos fiends!
The Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend had once left for the River of Destiny, only to hurry back with no choice but to lie dormant in the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool.
The Chaos Fiend Blood Pool was the source of the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm, a portion of the primordial chaos power that had given rise to the entire God Domain!
It was a forbidden ground.
“Does that mean that the Heaven-Combating Chaos Fiend has awakened?” someone murmured.
“It would be stranger if he hadn’t woken up after that huge commotion we caused,” said Su Yi. “That said, it’s strange that he doesn’t seem to care one way or another about the other chaos fiends’ deaths. Even now, he’s yet to get involved.”
The others found it baffling, too.
“How about we visit the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool now?” the silver-robed man asked with a laugh.
But then, something suddenly boomed overhead.
The crowd was stunned. All of them looked up, then saw that a massive gash had torn open beneath the dome of heaven.
Before they could come to their senses, something audibly shattered, and more and more cracks formed. It seemed that the entire hidden realm would soon collapse!
Everyone gasped. They felt a strong sense of impending crisis. If the hidden realm falls apart, there’s no way we’ll escape. This place will become our grave!
“The hidden realm is going to collapse!” the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor said gravely. “Is it because of the aftershock of that battle?”
“Not necessarily.” Su Yi shook his head. “Most likely, something happened to the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool.”
“Fellow Daoist Su, want to come with me and have a look?” said the silver-robed man. He was obviously quite interested in the place, as he’d extended yet another invitation.
Su Yi glanced at him. “I’ve already achieved my goal in coming here. Staying will only invite further trouble.”
With that, he ordered the Heaven-Swallowing Toad Ancestor, Liao Yuanshan, and the others to gather the spoils. They planned to leave before the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm collapsed completely.
“Fellow Daoist Su, don’t you want to see the Heaven-Combating Ancient Fiend’s magnificence for yourself?” the silver-robed man couldn’t help but ask.
“I’m not interested.”
“Don’t you want to reclaim the Lucky Die?”
“Not particularly.”
After Su Yi repeatedly flat-out rejected his invitations, the silver-robed man couldn’t help but rub his nose. “Very well. I’ll just go by myself.”
With that, he turned and floated off.
When he was just a few thousand feet away, he suddenly turned, looked at Su Yi, and laughed. “Right, my title is ‘Divine Severing,’ or ‘Shen Jue.’”
Shen Jue! Su Yi’s heart shook, and he took out a command token.
After leaving the Immortal Realm’s Epoch Battlefield, he took a trip to the Human Realm to bring his old friends to the Immortal Realm to continue their cultivation.
He couldn’t go in person, so he sent an avatar of will. However, when he arrived at the Impermeable Demon Ocean, he saw a divine avatar of will watching over his friends.
It belonged to a man called Bei Yuan, who said he’d come here to protect Su Yi’s friends on Shen Jue’s orders. Shen Jue’s goal was to establish a positive karmic connection with Su Yi, and he hoped that they could work together to defeat Su Yi’s enemies after he ascended to the God Domain.
That was when Su Yi received the mysterious Carefree Medallion.
According to Bei Yuan, if Su Yi ran into difficulties in the God Domain, he could activate the medallion, and they’d rush to his aid.
At the time, Su Yi sensed the aura emblazoned in the medallion. It was highly similar to that of the Dipankara Buddha and the other Master Gods. Thus, Su Yi concluded that Shen Jue was most likely a peak Nine-Tribulation Master God.
Su Yi had no way of knowing whether Shen Jue was friend or foe.
All of this had happened before he’d left the Immortal Realm, and years had passed. Su Yi occasionally recalled it, but he’d never really concerned himself with it.
He would never have thought that he’d run into the mysterious Shen Jue after the Dark Days of Legend arrived!
So, he’s Shen Jue… Su Yi fiddled with the Carefree Medallion and sank into thought.
The silver-robed man, Shen Jue, said that he hadn’t come to the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm in search of a Fragment of Heaven’s Will, nor was he after the Lucky Die.
In that case, what was he after? He hadn’t told Su Yi, but looking at it now, Su Yi vaguely understood. He mostly likely came here to meet me!
And he likely managed to locate me thanks to the Carefree Medallion I carry on my person.
That aside, he’s stronger than I initially estimated. He’s in no way comparable to a typical Nine-Tribulation Master God!
Just how strong was Shen Jue? Su Yi had no way of knowing, but he figured Shen Jue ought to at least be able to handle Half-Step Eternals.
Strange. He found me, but he didn’t tell me who he was or what he wanted. Don’t tell me he really just wanted to see me for himself?
Su Yi’s eyes flashed. No matter what, he did arrange for his subordinate to protect my friends in the Human Realm. I can’t deny… that he did me a big favor.
Su Yi’s heart stirred. He felt the sudden impulse to go to the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool and meet with Shen Jue again.
But it was then that…
Crack!
A line of the fragmented curtain of heaven overturned, and a turbulent spacetime flood came crashing down.
As if the sky were falling!
The crowd stirred, all of them overcome with unease.
Su Yi promptly set aside all thoughts of finding Shen Jue and instead set off, leading the others to safety.
Still, he was already certain that, even if he didn’t go meet Shen Jue now… the two of them would inevitably cross paths again!
When the time came, he might well learn if Shen Jue really wanted to join forces with him, or if he was after something else entirely.
Meanwhile, deep within the Heaven-Combating Hidden Realm, the waters of a thousand-foot-wide blood-red pool churned. It was indistinct, but a figure seemed to be rising out of the blood-red waters.
This was the Chaos Fiend Blood Pool, the place the Heaven-Combating Ancestral Fiend lay dormant!
The silver-robed man appeared here, seemingly out of nowhere, and gazed into those blood-red waters. He sighed. “A single mistake leads to defeat. We’re too late.”
