First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 2595 - Indignant? I’ll Help You!

Chapter 2595 – Indignant? I’ll Help You!

Dust and smoke billowed into the air.

Qing Li’s hair and face were smeared with dirt. His purple robes were in tatters, his golden crown had split, and his long hair hung loose and disheveled.

Even his smooth, steely face had caved in, and his whole body trembled, although it was hard to say whether it was from agony or fury.

“Are you trying to humiliate me?” He glared at Su Yi, his eyes full of disdain. “How juvenile.”

Su Yi still held him by the throat, holding him aloft as he might a chicken. Qing Li looked utterly wretched.

Nonetheless, he made no attempt to hide his mockery.

Bang! Bang!! Bang!!!

Su Yi didn’t say a word. He just slammed Qing Li into the ground again and again and again. Every time, heaven and earth shook on impact, and the resulting blast swept out in all directions.

Within just a few breaths of time, countless tears had appeared all over Qing Li’s body. He looked like a dirty rag, his features completely unrecognizable.

When he saw that Su Yi showed no sign of stopping, Qing Li finally couldn’t take it anymore. He roared, “Enough! Aren’t you done yet!?”

Su Yi ignored him. He wasn’t doing this to humiliate Qing Li. He was simply venting his hatred and fury.

Soon, Su Yi had smashed Qing Li into the dirt so many times that the plane of ground was dozens of feet lower. It had gone from a pit to an abyss.

“Hahaha, ridiculous! Venting your fury on an avatar of will like me is just proof of your ineptitude!” Qing Li burst into laughter.

His whole body was indistinct and incomplete. His face had been pulped, and it was now a startling sight.

“The most pathetic part is that this is all you can do,” sighed Qing Li. “After all, you’re stuck making waves in a little pond like the God Domain. No matter how much you hate me, you cannot seek revenge against my true body. I’m sure… that must hurt. I understand.”

He laughed again. “But it’s different for me. Even if you destroy this avatar of will, my true body won’t be affected in the slightest. Doesn’t that knowledge make you even more frustrated?”

This time, Su Yi finally stopped. He flung Qing Li’s battered frame onto the ground, then gazed down at him calmly and said, “I crushed the Three Purities Daoist Court, and one day, I’ll crush the Temple of the Three Pure Ones, too.”

His voice and expression were utterly calm, but his words brought Qing Li’s laughter to an abrupt halt.

He gnashed his teeth and struggled as if to stand, but his body was damaged in countless places, and even his power had practically all been ground away. He couldn’t stand.

In the end, he gave up and just lay there in the dirt. “Who can’t make threats? I’m different from you. I can tell you directly that it won’t be long until I send yet another avatar into the God Domain!”

His gaze silently frosted over. He made no attempt to disguise his murderous intent.

“And when I do, I’ll continue killing those around you. I’ll make them die in front of you, one by one, until you have no one left!”

He spoke slowly and clearly, forcing the words through the gaps of his teeth.

Su Yi raised his foot, then stepped on Qing Li’s face and said softly, “Go ahead and try it, then.”

Bang!

Su Yi lowered his foot, and Qing Li’s body exploded into pieces.

He’d been crushed beneath Su Yi’s feet!

Before Qing Li’s body could scatter completely, Su Yi stretched out his hand and grabbed a piece of his avatar of will, sealing it with the power of reincarnation.

Next time Qing Li sent an avatar into the God Domain, Su Yi would know immediately.

Having completed this, Su Yi shot out of the pit and returned to the surface.

Heaven and earth were overcast, and the entire area lay in ruin. Frigid gales whooshed past, but there was no dissipating the lingering air of destruction.

Su Yi stood alone, letting the wind blow through his long hair as he silently buried his anger and hatred deep within his heart.

Images of Ji Heng, Jian Dushan, and Mu Bai’s deaths rose in his sea of consciousness. Indescribable bitterness and melancholy coursed through him.

A long time passed before Su Yi opened his palm.

A wisp of the power of reincarnation surged forth. It contained three drops of blood, all of them emanating different auras.

They belonged to Ji Heng, Jian Dushan, and Mu Bai respectively. Before the battle began, Su Yi just barely managed to save these last three drops with his power of reincarnation.

I’ll do everything in my power to bring you back one day… Su Yi gazed intently at his palm and silently promised his departed friends. He was confident that, with the power of reincarnation, he had hope of realizing his promise.

But here and now, he was nonetheless not the least bit happy.

It was true that he’d never feared his enemies’ threats, and that he’d never given into them, but that didn’t mean he could remain unmoved when he watched those he cared about die!

The fierce gales cut like a knife. Heaven and earth were utterly desolate.

Su Yi stood there in silence for a long, long time. It was only after even the sound of the wind faded away that Su Yi turned and left.

He walked alone, gradually fading into the night.

……

Thousands of miles from the ruins of the Three Purities Daoist Court, in an ancient mountain forest.

A white-eyebrowed monk sat on the ground, while a man in ornate brocade robes perched on a tree branch.

A woman in a blue-green skirt sat on a nearby boulder, holding a fiery red wine gourd. She looked indolent and relaxed.

The forest was serene, and quiet save for the chirping of insects.

A jade mirror lay between them, manifesting a curtain of light that reflected the battle in the ruins of the Three Purities Daoist Court in their entirety.

But even after the battle ended, none of them said a word.

They were silent, but there was no hiding the astonishment in their expressions.

After the mirror reflected Su Yi departing the ruins alone, the woman in the blue-green skirt finally lifted her hand and tapped.

The curtain of light vanished, and the jade mirror landed in her palm.

She looked at her companions. “How do you see things?”

The old monk with white eyebrows sighed. “Forgive my ignorance, but my cultivation is insufficient. It’s hard for me to reach any definite conclusions based on their battle.”

His gaze was bleak and full of bewilderment. After all, he was a Nine-Tribulation Master God, an expert who stood proudly at the pinnacle of the God Domain.

It was only after watching this battle that he realized just how weak he really was.

“I feel… only terror!” the ornately dressed man said bitterly. “To tell you the truth, even just watching their battle made me break out in cold sweats. My heart is quivering with fright, and I feel as if I’m about to lose control of my Dao Heart. I’ve… never felt anything like this before.”

The woman in the blue-green skirt seemed to understand, or rather, to feel the same way. She sighed. “Me too.”

She paused, then added, “I even regret having watched this battle. My cultivation is insufficient. It’s left a dark shadow over my Dao Heart.”

Her beautiful face was full of bitterness and regret. Her expression was utterly bleak.

Her status and influence weren’t any inferior to her companions’. She was from an unknown territory, and she had extremely high seniority. She now worked for the New World Alliance.

But now, just witnessing Su Yi’s battle was like facing a tribulation of the heart!

“Tell me, just… how strong do you think Su Yi is?” the ornately dressed man couldn’t help but ask.

No one responded. Both of his companions remained silent.

Because none of them could figure it out, and none of them dared to guess randomly.

When the ornately dressed man saw this, he laughed bitterly and sighed, “This proves that old-timers like us… have long since ceased to be qualified to duke it out with Su Yi!”

They couldn’t even gauge Su Yi’s strength. Just watching him fight had been enough to fill their hearts with astonishment; it had come as an enormous shock.

Who could fail to realize the implications?

The white-eyebrowed monk rose, then said, “I’d best go back to report to the Buddha.”

He was from the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains, and he’d come here to gather information.

“I ought to get going, too.” The ornately dressed man rose and said, “Perhaps… Only His Excellency Di E can gauge just how strong Su Yi has become.”

The woman in the blue-green skirt sighed, then got up and left too. She was in no mood to say anymore.

But just as the three of them were about to leave the forest and part ways, they sensed something. All three of them gazed into the sky.

They weren’t sure when, but a tall, upright figure was standing there.

He was facing away from them, but they nonetheless recognized him at a glance. That’s Su Yi!

The three old-timers’ hearts sank. Chills coursed through their body. None of them dared make any sudden movements; all of them were scared out of their wits.

“Pass on a message for me. Going forward, if anyone touches my reverse scale, I’ll destroy their sects down to the last man, whether they’re from other spacetimes or the River of Destiny.”

His words echoed throughout the darkness.

That tall, upright figure vanished into the clouds.

The white-eyebrowed monk and the others exchanged glances. A long time passed before they sighed deeply, as if a massive weight had lifted from their shoulders.

They felt as if they’d survived a close brush with death. All of them couldn’t help but celebrate.

That’s right. They weren’t angry, nor were they overcome with hatred. All they felt was delight. They’d survived!

That very day, the three of them returned to their respective factions and described Su Yi’s battle in full detail.

When Di E heard the news, he fell briefly silent, then said, “The Temple of the Three Pure Ones really is despicable.”

Qing Li’s actions had almost dragged the entire New World Alliance underwater. Di E was naturally displeased.

Over in the Western Paradise Spirit Mountains, the Dipankara Buddha paced beneath the bodhi tree for a long time. He couldn’t help but sigh.

He didn’t comment.

It was late at night, but during these dark, turbulent times, the sun and moons were a rare sight. Everything was shrouded in darkness.

Su Yi walked alone through the wilderness with no goal or destination. His robes fluttered in the wind.

Deep within his heart, he still found it hard to stay calm.

No one knew it, but Qing Li’s post-battle mockery had deeply provoked Su Yi.

It was true. He could only act as he pleased here in the God Domain. He couldn’t go to the River of Destiny to settle things with Qing Li’s true body, because… he was still too weak!

If he were stronger, how could he possibly have wound up in such a passive position?

He could have just fought his way to the Temple of the Three Pure Ones and wiped Qing Li out!

Unfortunately, “if’s” meant nothing at all. There was only reality. For now, he just had to accept the situation.

But then, the voice of his first incarnation’s heart devil emanated from within the rusted sheath. “Indignant, huh? I can help you.”
