Chapter 998: Unveiling Secrets

Chapter 998: Unveiling Secrets

“Why are you here?” As Song Qingshu recognized that the girl beneath him was actually Pucha Qiucao, he felt a wave of dizziness.

Pucha Qiucao’s eyes brimmed with tears as she glared at him with resentment, but she was unable to speak due to her acupoint being sealed.

Noticing her unusual state, Song Qingshu was about to reach out to release her acupoint, but just as his hand was about to touch her body, he suddenly stopped. Noticing her puzzled gaze, he awkwardly chuckled, “I can release your acupoint, but before I do, there are a few things I need to clarify, so you don’t get too excited and we can’t communicate properly once it’s released.”

Without waiting for her response, Song Qingshu quickly continued, “First, I truly don’t know what’s going on; I’m just as confused as you are. Second, after I release your acupoint, we need to have a calm conversation, and you mustn’t shout or scream. Third, regarding today’s events… although I feel like I’m also a victim, you, being a girl, are at a greater disadvantage, so I will do my best to make up for the harm I caused you today. Please don’t think too negatively. If you agree to these three points, just blink your eyes, and I’ll release your acupoint.”

Pucha Qiucao was nearly driven mad by his words, thinking to herself, ‘You took such advantage of me, and yet you still have the audacity to lay down so many demands?’

However, under the circumstances, she had no choice but to comply. All she wanted was to escape her predicament, so she hurriedly blinked her eyes.

Seeing her urgent expression, Song Qingshu couldn’t help but chuckle, “Alright, alright, I see you; are you not afraid of your eyelids cramping with how fast you’re blinking?”

Pucha Qiucao’s face flushed with anger, and when he finally released her acupoint, her first reaction was to coldly shout, “Get away!”

Song Qingshu frowned, “You clearly agreed that we would communicate properly after I released your acupoint.”

Pucha Qiucao bit her lip and shot a glare at his lower abdomen, “With that disgusting thing pressing against me, how can you expect me to communicate properly?”

Only then did Song Qingshu realize he was still inside her, and he broke into a cold sweat, hurriedly withdrawing from her b0dy. He awkwardly laughed, “What just happened was too shocking; I didn’t react in time.”

Pucha Qiucao’s face was icy as she grabbed a nearby blanket and wrapped it around herself, her entire b0dy starting to tremble uncontrollably.

Song Qingshu also felt quite embarrassed; after all, she was an innocent girl, and he had inadvertently taken away her most precious possession. He thought to himself that he would also find it hard to accept if the roles were reversed.

“Uh, what exactly happened? Why were you in Daiqisi’s room, disguised as her, lying in bed completely naked…” The more he spoke, the more aggrieved he felt. What a mess this was; he had just come to find a lover for a little fun after drinking, and now it had turned into something that felt like a scandal.

“Alright, alright, you’re the victim; it’s all my fault, is that enough?” Pucha Qiucao grew angrier the more she listened, thinking that this man was shamelessly taking advantage of the situation.

Song Qingshu realized he had gone too far with his words and awkwardly asked, “Why did you end up looking like Daiqisi?” To avoid provoking her further, he refrained from mentioning why she was naked in bed waiting for him.

“It’s all that b*tch Daiqisi’s doing!” Pucha Qiucao spat angrily, then recounted how they had made a bet, how she had been tricked into coming here, and how she had sealed her own acupoint, waiting for Tang Kuo Bian to arrive.

As she spoke, Pucha Qiucao suddenly felt a chill run down her back, and she looked up at Song Qingshu in horror.

Hearing her recount the entire sequence of events, Song Qingshu couldn’t help but smile wryly, thinking to himself that while Daiqisi appeared as gentle as a little rabbit in front of him, he had forgotten that both the Purple-robed Dragon King and Granny Jin Hua were ruthless characters.

Suddenly, Pucha Qiucao stopped talking and instead looked at him with a face full of horror. Song Qingshu couldn’t help but freeze, asking, “What’s wrong with you?”

“Your face… who exactly are you?” Pucha Qiucao stammered.

Song Qingshu instinctively touched his face, and his expression changed as well. It turned out he had thought that Daiqisi was in the tent, and since she didn’t like him being affectionate while disguised as Tang Kuo Bian, he had casually removed the mask. The events that followed were so sudden and astonishing that not only did Song Qingshu forget about this detail for a moment, but Pucha Qiucao also took a long time to realize that he was speaking in Tang Kuo Bian’s voice while looking different.

Now, Song Qingshu felt a headache coming on. With this secret known to Pucha Qiucao, his plans in the Jin Dynasty could very well fall apart.

Pucha Qiucao was also a clever person. After the initial confusion, she quickly realized that since Daiqisi could disguise herself as her, this person in front of her could also be disguised as Tang Kuo Bian. The thought that the most powerful figure in the Jin court was actually someone impersonating him sent a chill down her spine.

“I’ll be leaving first,” Pucha Qiucao said, wrapping herself in the blanket, not even taking the time to put on her clothes, and rushed out of the tent. At that moment, she had only one thought: to leave this place as quickly as possible and then immediately gather the military leaders to expose this matter.

However, just as she reached the door, she bumped into a solid chest. Looking up, she realized it was Song Qingshu blocking the entrance.

How did he get in front of me? Pucha Qiucao was momentarily stunned, quickly recalling the martial arts skills he had displayed at Chongyang Palace. All her previous doubts finally clicked into place: no wonder Tang Kuo Bian had never shown any signs of being a martial arts master; it turned out he was not the same person at all.

“Where are you off to, Miss Qiucao?” Song Qingshu asked with a smile that was neither here nor there.

Although the man in front of her was handsome and his smile was quite charming, to Pucha Qiucao, he seemed no different from a demon. Trembling, she replied, “I… I was just planning to go back to bathe and change.”

“Is that so?” Song Qingshu chuckled lightly, noticing that she was clearly terrified yet pretending that nothing had happened. He couldn’t help but admire her composure.

After a moment of silence, Song Qingshu finally spoke, “Miss Qiucao, we are all smart people, and there’s no need for hidden meanings between us. Since you’ve discovered my secret, I can’t just let you go like this.”

“I won’t say anything,” Pucha Qiucao stammered, at this point, her chastity seemed irrelevant.

Song Qingshu immediately laughed, “Do you think I would believe such an unguaranteed promise?”

“Then… what do you want to do?” Pucha Qiucao’s voice trembled, and the phrase “kill to silence” flashed through her mind.

“Don’t worry, I don’t want to kill you,” Song Qingshu said, as if seeing through her thoughts. He smiled, “It’s just that I haven’t thought of a win-win solution yet. Why don’t we go back to bed and discuss it properly?”
