Genetic Ascension

Chapter 1469: Rolling Upgrades [Bonus]

[Bonus thanks to Bryson_Clark <3]

[Title Changed]

[Milky Way Progeny > Milky Way Progenitor]

Sylas couldn’t help but read this over and over again. The system had just decided to upgrade him to Progenitor of the Milky Way.

This was invaluable, and it was hard for Sylas to even describe just how much so, especially with the looming danger overhead.

Even though Sylas knew that something was coming, he had no idea to what degree or how powerful those targeting him would be. The fact that they would still dare to act after an entire Demi-God Clan got wiped out only made it more troublesome.

If they dared to take the risk, they were either madmen or existences who had planned out every detail so meticulously that they were confident they wouldn’t be caught.

Sylas always felt like he was behind the eight ball, as though he was always playing catch-up without hope as he tried to deal with plans his enemies had been laying out for decades, maybe even centuries or millennia.

But now, he at least had a small bit of capital to fight back. If his Progenitor status was restricted to Earth, it would be extremely difficult to fight back without putting basically their entire Human Race in danger.

But if he could use the entire Milky Way as a battleground instead… that would provide a buffer between the danger and those he wanted to protect the most.

This was exactly what he wanted.

Sylas turned his attention to his second System Reward.

He stared at the DDD+ on his Runeweaver Title for a long while, so much so that he almost barely registered the next ping that came right after he acknowledged it. [Progenitor Grandmaster]

[Forge your Profession with your own hands, mold it, and craft it into something new. Peek into the future of your Profession, comprehend it, and lower the Experience requirements—and then seek out something before, claiming your own dominion and carving out a corner of the world] —

[Title Upgraded]

[Progenitor Grandmaster > Progenitor Saint]

[A Saint is to a Grandmaster what a God is to a child. The beacon of the future shines bright upon you, the usual limitation of your Professions as open and free as the skies above your head or the dome of Heaven beyond it] [> Grasp an infinite number of Professions limited only by your Will and Foundation] —

Sylas stared at this for a long while as well.

An infinite number of Professions?

Professions didn’t directly improve a person’s stats, but they certainly did indirectly. Vipermancy probably had more to do with Sylas’ current power than any one other ability he had—and by a substantial margin.

It could also be said that he had yet to even remotely bring out its full potential. He was a long distance away from doing something like that.

And now this Title was telling him that he could have infinite Professions? After upgrading Runeweaver to the D-Grade all on its own?

The world seemed so much clearer to Sylas all of a sudden, and his Charisma oppressed the world with such forcefulness that it was forcefully bent to his Will.

‘Go.” he thought to himself.

With a step, Sylas vanished, heading toward the large, looming hydra in the distance. Sanzi finally put the communication device away. He looked toward his fiancée and the others, feeling that they were holding up well. He could then just scout the area.

Due to the restrictions of their group combat method, he couldn’t easily join in after they had already begun. Their Wills had to be perfectly harmonized with one another and tap into the very essence of their bloodline itself.

It was already relatively harder for them to harmonize with him because he was more powerful than they were. But if he had to join in after the fact, it might throw everything off.

Of course, if he had participated from the start, the hydra would be even more powerful. However, just as he was about to relax a bit, his heart constricted as he looked off toward the distance.

They were coming faster than he thought. Their Boros Race had already unleashed their trump card to hold this line of defense, so Sanzi didn’t expect that whoever had entered this territory with them would actually be able to rush through the territory so fast.

Just how powerful were they—

Sanzi froze when he felt the familiar aura. He sensed it long before he laid eyes on Sylas. He would never forget that presence, that poison that seemed to both oppress and shred his Will apart upon mere contact.

“Not!

Sanzi made a quick decision.

“Bluancal Release! We need to combine! All of us!”

The orders reached his fiancée’s ears, and she was immediately confused, but she didn’t refute. As the current core of the Ancient Boros Hydra, she was taking on more of a burden than she was used to, and her Will was quickly draining.

Sanzi charged out, his Aether rolling through his body as his hair of hydras roared into the skies, their silvery-black scales rolling with reflective light as each one roared.

He sent out a pulsing wave of Will that left the giant humanoid constructs of water frozen for a moment just as Bluanca released.

Without hesitation, Sanzi clapped his own palms together a split moment afterward. “The oncoming enemy is dangerous! Very dangerous! DO NOT LET YOUR GUARDS DOWN!”

Sensing the seriousness in Sanzi’s tone, they all focused, clapping in unison to match his cadence.

The skies rolled with power, and the Aether that surged toward them this time was orders of magnitude greater.
