Chapter 925 Impotent Thing

Chapter 925  Impotent Thing

The sounds of coughing and wheezing echoed through the world of blood. A cloaked figure kneeled on the endless expanse of crimson, his own blood leaking from him in droplets of drizzling black.

Waves of blood kicked up, volatile winds swinging them up to walls of tsunamis that came crashing down with the force of meteors. Often, the man was swallowed up whole by the volatility, but he didn’t move a single inch, his body still convulsing and struggling to move properly.

The only thing that seemed to save him was hidden in a flicker that almost looked like a digital glitch in reality. His body… it was displaced through the Mesh of Reality.

It had been a very long time since he was in such a sorry state. In fact, he couldn’t remember the last time. Maybe he was juggling the memories of too many.

He hacked up another mouthful of black blood.

It was no good. The injuries were too heavy.

The system was far too powerful. The more powerful the methods used, the more difficult it was to heal. By extension, the more powerful your body, the harder it was to heal.

But his problem wasn’t just that these injuries would take a ridiculous amount of time to heal from…

He wasn’t yet powerful enough to escape from the system. If he appeared too casually now, it would most certainly target him again.

‘Risks and rewards.’

The mind of the man was quite calm despite his state. Even his expression was barely moved at all. If not for having to hack up blood from time to time, one would never guess that he was injured at all.

He had taken a risk and he was punished for it.

But that didn’t mean that there were no rewards.

The man finally allowed himself to slowly sink into the waves of blood.

‘I will fall into a state of dormancy for now… by the time I awaken, I’m sure iteration 01114 will have matured… I’m interested in seeing if this Greed Seed will succeed… iteration 01113 was a complete waste of my time… what a worthless excuse of a Thryskai…’

These were the last thoughts of Rat before he fell into silence.

Arcane Madness had been close to drifting to sleep when it sensed it.

At first, it blinked somewhat in confusion, not understanding why a buzzing fly was annoying him. Then it got more confused. Why would it even notice a buzzing fly to begin with? For it, a buzzing fly must be quite powerful, no?

“Oh… this… impotent… thing finally… decided to… act…”

Arcane Madness watched as the System’s Eye appeared, growing larger and larger until it rivaled even itself in size.

“Listen… impotent thing… go pick on… something else… I’m tired…”

The system didn’t listen; a beam of light descended in full force. It wasn’t just at it, but every Arcane Madness incarnation across the universe was getting the same treatment.

But the reason for all of them was the same.

A snort.

“Scram.”

The System’s Eye froze and then shattered.

Arcane Madness curled itself back into a comfortable ball and its eyes were about to close when it paused, wondering why it was that the system would suddenly take action like this.

“Oh…”

When Arcane Madness’ slow thoughts finally caught up, it began to laugh.

“Ha… Ha… Ha…”

Stars blinked out one after another, much of the region falling into a sea of darkness that would maybe never recover.

“It looks… like… you were… wrong…”

There was no response, but this only made Arcane Madness laugh harder. There was no doubt that this guy was a sore loser.

“My… Serpentes… Lineage… will rise… again…”

There was still no response.

But soon, the laughter became so grating that the second voice had no choice but to say something.

“The Rats… will rule… the world… once… again…”

“All your disciples know how to do is scheme… Pathetic.”

“You think… that ant… got through… with strength…?”

“Ha… Ha… Ha… then we shall… see… who is… the better… schemer… if your disciple loses with such… an advantage… how sad… would that… be?”

This time there was no response again. How could Scurrying Madness care to reply to Slithering Madness when the latter was being so shameless.

Hadn’t he just said schemes were bad? But now he wanted a competition of schemes?

“The Serpentes… were… the first… the world… will remember this… and pay for clipping our wings…!”

BANG!

The sudden solidity in Slithering Madness’ voice overturned the world, and as though the lights had gone out completely, a darkness fell.

All of the stars in the immediate distance winked out, forever erased from the world.

**

The Skai Galaxy suffered a great amount of turmoil. No one even had the time to register the fact Sylas had oddly become Level 50 without shifting up a single spot on the Titan Leaderboard when one powerful leader of men after another began to fall.

And shockingly, most of them were among the most powerful Rune Masters of Skai Galaxy.

Rune Masters were so rare to begin with, but as one E-Grade and D-Grade Master after another fell, the shock of the matter began to spread like a wildfire.

It was all happening too fast. No one had the time to realize that it was precisely these Guild leaders that had gone out of their way to target Sylas in an attempt to get him on their side.

There had been a great number of attempts and action plans made, some of which hadn’t even been acted upon yet. And yet, they were ruthlessly slaughtered nonetheless.

The interaction with the Arcane Madnesses seemed to have only infuriated the system further and it unleashed a rampage like no other.

But it wasn’t just punishment that the system unleashed.

Sylas’ body still had not stopped evolving when he received the notification.
