Chapter 1687: Entering the ruins (Sandfall)

From MC’s Perspective

[Ding! Warning!]

[Ding! Magic Lord’s mental power was detected.]

The system warned me. The next second, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion without further thinking.

The system could shield my presence, but I didn’t want to take any chances. Who knows what kind of Magic Artifact he has?

The mental power outside scanned the place. It covered a large area. Yet, the Magic Lord couldn’t find the last escapee.

He withdrew his mental power. Then, he told the city guards to imprison these people. If anyone caused problems again, they could use magic spells to attack them.

After saying that, he returned to the City Lord’s office.

30 minutes later,

In the Gregor Mansion, I turned towards Hank and the others.

“I have left the city successfully. After reaching the ruin, I will let you guys out.” After saying that, I appeared outside.

Then, I used the system function to find the direction again. Next, I resumed going towards the ruin.

While moving in mid air, I kept an eye on the sand dunes as well. So far, there was no threat from the sand dunes.

There were no monsters present here.

It didn’t take long for me to reach the spot. The ruin was located outside the city. I had thought no one would be here.

But there were a few City Guards here. They were gathered around the underground entrance. There were broken structures a few meters away from them.

A quick gleam flashed in my eyes.

The city guards were Level-9 Wizards. But one of them was a Supreme Wizard. He must be the head of the guards. He was responsible for guarding the entrance with his team.

I thought it was the right opportunity to use the help of the Dark Root Vine Monster. I could have asked Patrick and Otto, but I didn’t want any human wizard’s involvement here.

Since there was a Dark Root Vine Monster, I thought there was no problem in trying it out.

Swoosh!

The next second, I appeared inside the Gregor Mansion. Then I told them that I had reached the ruins.

Hearing that, Patrick, Hank, and Otto were ready to leave. At the same time, the Dark Root Vine Monster made a noise as well.

“Wait!”

“I’m going to use the help of the vine monster first.”

“There are guards waiting outside,” I said to them.

Hearing that, the three of them agreed. The vine monster reduced in size. I held the vine monster in my palm.

Then I brought the Dark Root Vine Monster outside.

Swoosh!

The Head Guard and the other guards were still standing guard. Some of them were asleep. The others were awake; they were chatting and laughing.

“There is one Head Guard and there are five Level-9 Wizards,” I said to the vine monster.

“Kill them before they can make any noise,” I added.

Screech!

The vine monster made a noise. The next second, it shifted from the spot. The vine monster landed on the sand dune.

The vine monster submerged into the ground.

Seeing that, a bright smile appeared on my face. The vine monster was intelligent. It understood my commands right away.

Boom!

The six wizards were guarding the entrance. The Head Guard was a Supreme Wizard. He immediately felt a sense of unease.

He opened his eyes and alerted the others. Hearing that, the other five guards stood up. They turned around and started observing the surroundings.

But they weren’t able to sense the presence of any wizards there, so they were confused. Even the Head of the City Guard didn’t know what was going on.

He just felt an unknown threat coming towards them.

Boom!

Just as they were observing the surroundings, a massive sharp vine appeared out of nowhere. It pierced through the body of the Head Guard.

The Head Guard’s eyes filled with terror. His chest was pierced. Under his shocked gaze, the blood in his body was being sucked out by the vine monster.

Aaahhhh!

The Head Guard let out a terrifying scream.

His scream alerted the other Level-9 wizards. The five wizards rushed to save the Head Guard.

Puchak!

The vine monster stretched its other body parts. The other body parts shot towards the incoming wizards.

The Level-9 wizards were no match for the 10th Order Vine Monster.

Puchak!

One after another, the five sharp ends pierced through the bodies of the Level-9 wizards.

It started to suck the blood of the five Level-9 wizards. By that time, the Head of the City Guards had become a dry corpse.

The bodies of the other five Wizards became dry corpses as well. This all happened within seconds.

Swoosh!

The next second, the dried corpses were buried underground by the roots. The vine monster then shrank its size and returned to its Master.

On the other hand, I was watching the fight from a little distance. Seeing that the fight was over, I shifted my body from the spot and appeared in front of the monster.

The next second, I extended my hand. The Dark Root Vine Monster appeared in my palm. I sighed in relief.

I was worried that the fight could cause a commotion. But the monster had silently killed them. Even their bodies were buried in the ground right now.

Swoosh!

Then I shifted my attention to a ruins entrance. It was time to explore the ruin. With the help of the vine monster, I could go deeper.

The next second, I entered the ruin. The way went downwards. It appeared that once upon a time, the ruin was above the ground.

As time passed, I went deeper. After a few meters, the path got narrower. The sand had blocked the path further down.

Seeing that, I ordered the vine monster to clear the way forward. The vine monster disappeared from my palm.

In a flash, it grew in size before its body parts shot towards the sand.

Boom!

The vine tip started rotating. It was removing the sand and clearing the path ahead. Then I remembered Patrick had similar magic as well.

So, I went inside the Gregor Mansion and brought the three of them outside.

Their gazes immediately fell on the narrow path in front of them.
