Gravity Mage with Level-Up System

Chapter 1721: Ancient Giant Corpse!

Chapter 1721: Ancient Giant Corpse!

From MC’s Perspective

After spending a few minutes with the team members, I came back to the control room. Then, I stood in front of the control mirror.

I could see only the black pitch in the mirror. I didn’t know how deep this crack was. Then, I used the system to check whether the Magic Lord had left or not.

The system results said that the Magic Lord had left. I sighed in relief. I was worried that the Magic Lord would further investigate. Now that he has left…

I should go to the next city, since the Forbidden Wizards, Erwin and Charlotte, were not back yet. It was futile to return as no one was left to back me up.

I doubted even Manager Lara would be able to help me against the elders of the factions. The water in the Magic City ran deep. There were numerous Supreme Wizards, aloof Magic Lords, and hidden Forbidden Wizards.

Only by becoming a Supreme Wizard could I join the elite ranks. Then, I collected my thoughts and turned towards the Zero Puppet.

Seeing that both the eye sockets were dim, I realized that the puppet’s energy had run out. Then, I placed a few super-grade mana stones inside the core.

Buzz!

The Zero Puppet came to life. It then noticed and greeted me.

“Did you find out anything?” I asked.

“Master, I have recorded all the information. But most of the information that was recorded was fake. And there is no word about the special land or anything related to that recorded in the information,” the Zero Puppet replied.

A flicker of disappointment flashed in my eyes. But I was not surprised. I was looking for something which was already a special place.

Only the Mage Union and other super-large nations had vast knowledge about the world. Maybe I should try entering a super-large nation.

There is one super-large nation at the border. But it appears it was at odds against the Mage Union. Going there would be suicidal.

I had already experienced such threats back then.

Then I glanced at the mirror and thought of something.

“Zero, is there any information about the hollow pit near Thornside City? The hollow pit is huge. It must have some information recorded,” I asked.

The Zero Puppet’s blue eye sockets flickered. It recalled the information. There were details about the dangerous hollow pit near the forest of Thornside City.

“Master, there is information. It’s called the Ancient Pit. It was the last trace of the ancient battlefield. This particular region had countless changes throughout the ages except the Ancient Pit.”

“Legend has it that many powerful wizards tried to explore the Ancient Pit. But they never came back. Including Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords.”

“Later, the Ancient Pit was declared forbidden. But it was famous like other forbidden zones that were officially recognized by the Magic Union.”

“Yes, this place remains dangerous,” the Zero Puppet explained.

My eyes gleamed with a twinkle. I didn’t expect this hollow pit to have such history. That could be the reason why the Magic Lord didn’t enter to explore.

My gaze became deeper. I guessed the place was worthy enough to explore. Should I take others with me? Then I shook my head. It was not a good idea.

If something unexpected happens, I can always hide inside the Gregor Mansion. But it was different for others. If they got sneak-attacked by anything there, they would die for sure.

Since the ancient Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords died here, then their fate won’t be anything different. Maybe I should explore alone.

Swoosh!

Then I appeared outside and stood in mid-air. The system was already shielding my presence, so no one could sense me.

I looked down into the dark depth below. I began to descend. At the same time, I asked the system whether anything valuable was here.

[Ding! Warning!]

[There are valuable things scattered around on the ground.]

[The host is advised not to touch the ground.]

The system warning sounded in my mind. My heart skipped a beat. So I was right. The valuable things must have been left behind by the wizards who had died here.

There must be valuables of Supreme Wizards and Magic Lords as well. My heart rose with expectations.

As time went by, I continued to descend. I had already crossed 1000 meters. I had never gone down to explore such a deep place before.

Alarm!

Suddenly, a sense of crisis filled my heart. My gaze condensed. I was sure the system was protecting me. I was not exposed. Otherwise, the system would have warned me already.

So where was the threat coming from?

Suddenly, I stopped in mid-air. I brought the device outside and turned on the light. The next second, a bright light illuminated the place.

Gasp!

An exclamation almost left my mouth as my gaze fell on the scene below. A big, unknown, giant, mutilated skeleton was drowned in the black water. Since it was mutilated, it was hard to judge the height of the giant.

But the size of the head alone was 10 meters in height.

My heart was racing faster. As my gaze swept across the place, I found piles of corpses at the corner of the shore.

The shore was covered in black sand, where valuable things were scattered across the ground. A few of them had traces of magic power left.

As my gaze passed over the scattered things, my heart rose with expectations. I stumbled upon a treasure land right now.

Then my gaze fell on crystal skeletons which were still giving out a sense of danger.

A hint of doubt flashed in my eyes.

“Could the skeletons be alive?” I thought.

Anything was possible in the wizard path. The black water was already a sign of evil magic. There are evil wizards who use wizard corpses for their magic spells.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the skeleton stood up to attack me. I’m not afraid. But I was wary of the giant behind me.
