GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2269 2269: Calculation For Power Of Wealth.

Even if two rank 4 merchants have the exact same level of power, they won’t have the same value of life if one of them is a prince while the other is just an ordinary merchant.

The connections that a merchant possesses also affect the value of their life. All of these things make it difficult to determine the full extent of the value of someone’s life. But there is a way to determine the lowest estimate of someone’s value.

The way to determine the lowest estimate of the value of life is to determine how much energy water that godclad has used to increase their spiritual power to the peak of their rank and then add this value to the value of the divine flesh that the godclad has used from rank 1 to their current rank.

In the case of a rank 4 epic godclad with only the pathway of merchants and with a spiritual power of 160 units, they must have used 100 liters of energy at rank 1, 200 liters at rank 2, 400 liters at rank 3, and 800 liters at rank 4.

That makes a total of 1,500 liters which is 15,000 gold coins if one liter of energy water is valued at 10 gold coins.

As for the value of their divine flesh, it is 200 gold coins for rank 1, 400 gold for rank 2, 800 gold for rank 3, and finally 1,600 for rank 4. This makes a total of 3,000 gold coins.

So in total, the value of life of a rank 4 merchant is 18,000. If that merchant has a skill mastery of 50% and uses 1 million gold coins to fuel the Power of Wealth divine ability, the boost they will gain will be equal to 1,000,000/((18,000 × 4) × (100/50)).

That rank 4 merchant will gain a boost that is equal to 6.944 times their current strength. Since a rank 5 is two times stronger than a rank 4 and a rank 6 godclad is four times stronger than a rank 4, the rank 4 merchant will gain a physical power that outmatches other rank 6 godclads.

If the rank 4 merchant increases their mastery of the divine ability, they will be able to match even a legend with the same amount of money. Legion found this to be incredible.

They felt it was incredible even though it looked expensive because many people would be willing to pay for greater power if the option were available.

In this case, the option isn’t available for most people. And those who try to acquire the power of legends by advancing the normal way usually die.

So they considered it incredible that a rank 4 godclad can acquire the power of a legend without having to risk their life. The best part of these is that the money is also easily transferable from one person to another.

For instance, a rich and powerful merchant will be able to easily preserve the power of his family by giving the money he uses to fuel the Power of Wealth to his descendant or someone else. That way, the power of a legend can be maintained across generations.

As if that isn’t enough, merchants also don’t need to actively train the divine ability to gain mastery of it. The more money they put into the divine ability and the longer they use the divine ability, the higher their mastery of it becomes.

That means the more they use the divine ability, the less money they will need to become stronger. Legion thought that it was cheating.

But what they thought was challenged when they found out that the power of the rank 6 divine ability of the pathway of nobles can allow dead nobles that have achieved rank 6 to store their power for future generations to use and living nobles with this divine ability to share their power with their living descendants.

In a way, Ancestral Power is like a bank account. The first noble of a lineage will be the one to open that bank account. Of course, being the first person to use the bank account, the bank account will be empty, and they will need to deposit into the bank account to make it valuable.

So the first rank 6 noble of a bloodline won’t gain anything from this divine ability. The best that they can do is let their descendants also gain access to this bank account and be able to borrow power from it.

The act of borrowing power from Ancestral Power, or in this case, the bank account, is the opposite of the rank 1 divine ability called Noble Blood. Noble blood only helps the godclad, while Ancestral Power helps the descendants.

The first rank 6 noble won’t gain anything from the Ancestral Power. It will be those in their lineage that will benefit from it.

Their descendants will be able to use certain methods and the permission of their ancestor to borrow power from the bank account, which will make them stronger than those of the same level.

It is the power from the Noble Blood that is being shared with the descendants through Ancestral Power. So in a way, Ancestral Power is similar to the rank 4 divine ability of the pathway knights called Heart of the Army in that it also allocates the power from the same source to different people who tap power from that source.

This is another way that Knights are similar to Nobles other than the similarity between Unity and Noble Blood. But the Ancestral Power is capable of so much more that the power of dead ancestors can be kept in the bank account for future generations to use.

The Ancestral Power divine ability can even store the power of a legendary ancestor for the future generation to use. This way, as long as a noble lineage can have a rank 6 noble in every generation, they will never fall.
