This new divine ability means that the slaves of the angel of slavery will have spiritual power that is at the angel level, but Legion isn’t worried.

They are not worried because they are very familiar with the divine abilities of the pathway of slavery and have many divine abilities at their disposal to deal with slave masters.

Actually, each of their pathways has something that can deal with slave masters or can at least resist slave masters. To be fair, each of their pathways is strong and can deal with most other pathways on its own.

So they have little to be worried about. They continued to practice with the Chain of Command divine ability.

In order to raise the mastery of the new divine ability quickly, they liberated the divine form of the pathway of slavery. This caused their form to change from that of a giant black bird to that of a large body of worms.

What they changed into was a small mountain of worms. Even the sight of their current form is enough to make people vomit or faint. But the spiritual impact can really kill people who are too weak to gaze on them.

They switched the target of the Chain of Command divine ability from the traveling walker to Sir Edwin and then to the legendary noble.

What they noticed was that the stronger the slave, the smaller the amount of spiritual energy needed to use the Chain of Command on them and enhance their power. So the legendary noble required the least amount of spiritual energy to enhance his spiritual power to the peak of rank 8.

This made Legion-5 say wistfully, “I wish we could find an angel to use this on.”

Legion-8 said to him in encouragement, “Don’t worry. We will find an angel of slavery to use it on soon.”

The effect of the Chain of Command divine ability is not complete without being used on a slave stronger than them. If they use it on an angel, for instance, their own spiritual power will be raised to the level of the angelic slave.

So the full effect of the Chain of Command divine ability is to raise the spiritual power of slaves that are weaker than the slave master or raise the spiritual power of slave masters to match that of their strongest slave.

If this divine ability is used on a normal angel, the effect will be temporary, and all the slave master will gain from the Chain of Command divine ability is a temporary boost of their spiritual power.

But if the Chain of Command divine ability is used on an angel of slavery, that angel of slavery will lose their status as an angel permanently. Their status will be taken by the one who used the divine ability on them.

This is essentially what the advancement requirement for rank 9 of the pathway of slavery is. A weaker slave master has to prove themselves worthy of advancing by subduing a stronger slave master.

They don’t need to kill the rank 9 slave master, as angels of slavery are very difficult to kill due to their rank 9 divine ability, which ties the life of an angel of slavery to that of their slaves, so every slave of an angel of slavery has to be killed before the angel of slavery can be killed completely.

All they need to do is defeat one of the slaves of the angel of slavery. That will fulfill their advancement requirements. If they want, they can continue to hunt the angel of slavery for their rank 9 divine flesh so that they can use it to advance.

They don’t have to go after the angel of slavery for their rank 9 divine flesh, though. They can get the rank 9 divine flesh from somewhere else.

But if they manage to use the Chain of Command on one of the slaves of the angel of slavery, then the angel of slavery will fall from rank 9 to rank 8.

There is no trick to this requirement. If they are to use the Chain of Command on the slave of an angel of slavery, they must first use the mark of bondage on that slave to enslave it.

It will not be easy to enslave a slave that belongs to an angel of slavery. But if the angel of slavery couldn’t stop them from doing so, then it is not worthy of remaining an angel.

In order to achieve this, they practiced the chain of command divine ability to raise its mastery as quickly as possible. They did this while also ordering the slaves that have yet to arrive to scatter themselves throughout the Hydra Kingdom.

These slaves were being sent throughout the Hydra Kingdom so that Legion can use them to attack the kingdom from anywhere at any time. Their first targets will be the ordinary people of the kingdom.

Legion will lend their slaves the rank 6 Bloodthirsty divine ability of the pathway of killing through the rank 3 Life Bond divine ability. This will allow their slaves to raise their spiritual power by killing people.

This is just one step of their plan to take on the angel of slavery. They still have a lot of preparations to make, though. So they don’t want to initiate their attack soon.

The one slave that they didn’t let scatter into the Hydra Kingdom without meeting them first was their Fate Weaver slave. They wanted the Fate Weaver to meet them first so that they could use the Power Bond divine ability on her.

The Power Bond divine ability required physical contact and proximity for them to implant another mark of bondage on the slave. Without a second mark of bondage in a slave, they won’t be able to borrow the slave’s divine abilities through the Power Bond divine ability.
