GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

Chapter 2467: Second Offers.

Chapter 2467: Second Offers.

So the Mind Palace gaining an owner meant that legends and demigods would lose access to their virtual copies. The owner of the Mind Palace can even block everyone from entering the Mind Palace with minds, so the Mind Hunters organization will cease to exist.

And if the angel succeeds in becoming the god of the pathway, he might even be able to influence and enslave the minds of everyone in the pathway or the minds of everyone in the world.

No one wants any of these. So they have to stop the angel from succeeding.

But they don’t have the power to stop him anymore. This made them begin to contemplate giving Legion what he asked for.

They sent many messages to Legion saying, “You should join us to send the angel away. This is for your own good too. If you allow him to succeed, we are all doomed.”

The messages weren’t sent to Legion directly since they don’t even know who Legion is. But they know the demigods that fought for him, so they sent their messages to Legion through those demigods.

The messages reached Legion, but they were unconcerned about all the doomsaying. In fact, they were glad to see the two sides fighting and were getting ready to take advantage of the situation.

Legion was not the only one trying to gain some benefits from this situation, though. Someone else was trying to gain some benefits by asking the other demigods to help him become an angel.

This demigod telepath asked the other demigods to give him their brainwashed demigods so that he can have the minimum number of brainwashed demigods needed to advance to rank 9.

In exchange, he was willing to swear to a god of their choosing that he won’t try to gain control of the Mind Palace and will instead stop anyone from trying to gain control of the Mind Palace.

He asked them to help him become an angel so that he will spend the rest of his life stopping anyone from becoming the god of the pathway. It was a good offer, but the demigods didn’t take it because they were suspicious of the offer.

They felt that he would cheat them after they became an angel. They also didn’t think that he would have the power to stop the first angel after he becomes an angel because he won’t have divine power and will need some time to subdue his avatars.

So even if he is not trying to cheat them, they don’t have the time for him to subdue his avatars, so they didn’t accept his offer. They were more inclined to have a solution where there was no second angel of telepathy above their heads.

In this way, Legion’s offer was more palatable. Even if they give Legion a rank 9 divine flesh and he becomes an angel, as long as he is not an angel of telepathy, he won’t have much of an advantage in the battlefield of the Mind Palace.

This comparison and the urgency of the situation made them contemplate which rank 9 divine flesh to give Legion.

They didn’t like the idea of giving Legion a rank 9 divine flesh and possibly helping him become an angel, but they all agreed that if they were to give him a rank 9 divine flesh, it would have to be one that wouldn’t harm their interests in the future.

They thought long and hard on what rank 9 divine flesh to give him. Eventually, they decided to get him the rank 9 of the most forbidden pathway.

What they decided on was to give Legion the divine flesh of the pathway of killing. This was because it was the most useless pathway that they could think of.

They made this decision because killers are virtually extinct. Through all of their combined information networks, they know a lot, but they have never heard of any living rank 7 killer.

Most killers lose their minds and go crazy after they reach rank 6 and gain the Bloodthirsty divine ability. But if they manage to reach rank 7, they will be hunted down and killed by demigod judges who are looking for people to kill in order to eliminate sin and increase their qualifications to become angels of justice.

This hunt is not something that the church of justice particularly cares about. It is just the individual endeavor of judges to advance. These demigod judges also hunt and kill anyone who is a notorious criminal.

What the church of justice cares about in particular is an angel of killing. If an angel of killing appears, they will rally their entire manpower to hunt and kill this angel of killing.

If an angel of justice fails to kill an angel of killing, they will even send a subordinate god to kill that angel of killing. This and the scarcity of killers is why they felt that it was a good idea to give Legion the rank 9 divine flesh of the pathway of killing.

They didn’t think that he could be a rank 8 killer when even rank 7 killers don’t exist. And even if Legion were to be a rank 8 killer and be able to use their rank 9 divine flesh to become an angel of killing, they are counting on the church of justice to eliminate Legion for them.

They thought that they were being smart with their decision and were going to cheat Legion. So even though they didn’t have the rank 9 divine flesh on hand, they still made up their minds to go hunt a rank 9 blood beast in the spiritual dimension for Legion.

They told Legion about their decision before they went to the spiritual dimension to hunt blood beasts. They wanted Legion to know and agree before they wasted their time on something useless.

Their message said, “We only have one rank 9 divine flesh and it is rank 9 divine flesh of the pathway of killing. We have decided to give it to you.”
