Chapter 2501: 33 Is The Number.

On the one hand, they wanted the knowledge. But on the other hand, they didn’t want to offer information that was too important. They are especially concerned about this after they saw the reaction of the angel of knowledge to the earlier information about the pathway of creation and the pathway of destruction.

They had tried to make their information reliable and important, but it appeared that they went too far in making it important. They don’t want to repeat this mistake, which is why they decided to take their time figuring out what to say next.

After thinking for some time, Legion-4 figured out the information that they could give. But he wanted to know if the information was valuable or not.

So he asked the angel of knowledge, “Do you know how many pathways there are?”

The angel didn’t reply. Instead, he became quiet as he ruminated on what to say and do concerning this question.

He knew what Legion was trying to accomplish by asking this question. He knew that Legion wanted to know if he knew the information or not. But he also knows that Legion might not know how many pathways there are and might be using the question as bait to fleece more information out of him.

This was why he didn’t want to reply. He didn’t want to feed Legion free knowledge.

Even if Legion truly knows how many pathways there are. Legion’s answer might be wrong.

So he either has to take a risk answering the question and hoping that the question is just not a bait to get free knowledge from him, or take a risk letting Legion provide his answer to how many pathways there are and hope Legion’s answer is correct.

After thinking about it, he decided to go with the latter. This isn’t something he usually does. He is only willing to take any risk now because Legion has shown himself to be a reliable source of information.

With his decision made, he said to Legion-4, “There is no need to know if I know how many pathways there are. You just go ahead and tell me what you know.”

Legion-4 nodded unconcerned. Then he said, “There are 33 pathways.”

The angel of knowledge began to think intensely after getting this information. This time, he thought for a longer period of time.

He deduced the reliability and accuracy of the information that there were 33 pathways for 5 minutes. After he was done, his face became solemn.

He was very pleased and satisfied with the information, but he didn’t show it on his face because the impact of this information is a serious matter that he can’t laugh about.

He said with a solemn facial expression, “Your information is immensely valuable. I don’t know where or how you got this information. In fact, I don’t even think you know why this information is so valuable because if you did, you wouldn’t have let it go so easily.”

Only now did he smile and say, “But that’s a good thing for me that you didn’t know the true value of what you had.”

His tone shifted to that of pity as he said, “Then again, your inability to properly estimate the value of that information isn’t only because of ignorance. It is also because you lack the horizon and resources to make full use of the information. Only in the hands of a knowledgeable god can every piece of information show its true value.”

Legion-4 shook his head and said, “Stop bragging and tell me what you promised.”

The angel of knowledge laughed and said, “How I wish I could trap you here and devour your mind.”

He was laughing, but that didn’t change the fact that he was very serious about this wish of his.

Legion-4 noticed the underlying seriousness, which in turn made him become serious too. His eyes became frosty as he said, “You can try.”

The angel of knowledge noticed the threat but only rolled his eyes in reaction.

Then he said, “No need to get pissy. I’m sure that you want to crack open my mind and devour it. Don’t act as if I’m wishing for something that you don’t wish yourself.”

What he said was true, but that didn’t mean Legion-4 had to agree with him. Legion-4 filed his hands and lied through his teeth, saying, “I don’t know what you’re saying. I’m not like you. I don’t try to kill people simply because they have something I want.”

This made the angel of knowledge begin to laugh again. This time, his amusement and laughter were genuine. He wasn’t using it to cover a threat.

Between his laughs, he said, “A kind slave master that doesn’t kill. That’s a first.”

He laughed for a while. But after laughing, he became serious.

“First of all, the god of justice is definitely your enemy. He shouldn’t be your enemy in the first place, just like he shouldn’t be the enemy of the god of nobles.”

“I shouldn’t tell you this, but I will because I like you so much. The god of justice should be fighting the god of error and the god of crime, not the god of nobles. But he became desperate because the god of error has already defeated the god of crime and is in the process of assimilating the authority of crime.”

“The worst part is that another god took advantage of the god of justice cursed him to guard the Ocean of Blood for so long. This is privileged information that the god of justice might not even know himself. This is because the way that god did it was sneaky.”

“This sneaky god made the god of justice waste so much time which gave the god of error the peace he wanted to assimilate the authority of the pathway of crime. Even though the god of justice might not know this and the identity of who cursed him, he knows that he has to acquire strength quickly.”
