Legion looked at their divine bodies and said, “Can this even be eaten?”

The divine body of machinists is a living forge. Their bodies are large, metallic, and hollow. The hollow space within them is then occupied by a burning flame.

All in all, their divine body looked like a machine. It didn’t look like something that could be safely eaten. But Legion wasn’t picky about their food.

Legion used the virtual body to eat the divine body of the two godlings. Then they absorbed the virtual body into their true body to gain the power of the two divine bodies.

The two godlings raise the raw power of their divine body and divine souls from 56,123 to 74,321 units. This increased their power from 56,123 × 20,736, which is 1,163,766,528 units, to 74,321 × 20,736, which is 1,541,120,256.

Legion saw this and smacked their lips as they said, “An increase in power of 32.43%. Not bad. I wonder if the god of their pathway is still alive and how much power eating him will grant us.”

They have no link to the pathway of machinery whatsoever, and can’t use the authority of the pathway of machinery even if someone gives it to them for free. But they are hungry right now, and when they are hungry, they eat.

Since the god of machinery is in a bad state where godlings can threaten his position as the god of the pathway, Legion decided to lend a hand in order to put an end to his misery.

Legion recreated the virtual body and sent him after the god of machinery. Their first targets are the subordinate gods of the pathway.

Thanks to the memories of the two godlings, they know that the god of machinery has three subordinate gods. The god machinery itself isn’t active, but his subordinate gods are alive and well.

The subordinate gods are still working hard to maintain the church of the god of machinery despite the absence of their god. These three subordinate gods are the main people that the two godlings were hiding from.

Legion also knew where to find these subordinate gods. So without wasting time, they went to the headquarters of the church of machinery.

What they found at the headquarters were the puppets of the three subordinate gods, not their true bodies. Apparently, they, too, have enemies that they are hiding from.

Legion saw this and said with pity, “I don’t blame them. This whole world is a dangerous forest where the strong eat the weak. Everyone is hiding for fear of being eaten.”

They, too, despite their great strength, are sneaking around while killing people. This is mostly because they don’t want to tip anyone off and make them alarmed enough to run away and hide better. But it is also because they don’t want their enemies to know their whereabouts.

They don’t even want anyone to know that they’ve become the god of telepathy yet. So they can relate to these three subordinate gods, hiding their true bodies despite having the support of a god. But that didn’t stop them from attacking the three subordinate gods.

They attacked the three of them at the same time, so they didn’t have the time to warn each other. This turned out to be a good thing because the true bodies of the three subordinate gods were in the same place.

If Legion had attacked the subordinate gods one by one, the other ones would have noticed something amiss and would have fled. Unfortunately for them, they didn’t have the chance to escape because all three of them were struck at the same time.

Legion didn’t know that the subordinate gods were friendly enough to stay in the same place with their true bodies. They had attacked all three of them at the same time because they didn’t want the god of machinery to warn the other two to escape.

There was no way that attacking a subordinate god wasn’t going to be noticed by the god of the pathway. Since the god of the pathway was going to know anyway, they decided not to take any chances.

Their caution paid dividends very quickly. They subdued the three subordinate gods and ate them. The god of machinery knew about this, but he didn’t do anything.

Not that there was anything to do because Legion struck too quickly for him to respond. By the time the god of machinery knew what was going on, it was already too late.

Legion didn’t stop there. After using the Mind Domination divine ability on the three subordinate gods, they learned about the situation that the god of machinery was in. So they decided to attack the god of machinery, too.

As they were subduing the three subordinate gods, they used the mental link between the subordinate gods and their true god to attack the god of machinery. As usual, they used the Mind Plague divine ability to spearhead this attack.

If they didn’t know the condition of the god of machinery, they might have had reservations about fighting such an old god with a large church and an ample supply of faith. But now that they knew that the god of machinery couldn’t do anything even if his life depended on it, they decided not to hold back.

They ate the three subordinate gods and used the Mind Domination divine ability on the god of machinery. While they were attacking the mind of the god of machinery, the virtual body returned to the Mindscape to give the true body the power that they got from the three subordinate gods.

The divine body of the three subordinate gods raised the power of their divine body and divine soul from 74,321 to 108,911. This increased their total power from 74,321 × 20,736, which is 1,541,120,256, to 108,911 × 20,736, which is 2,258,378,496.
