GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

The god of fate was sleeping in a web that she wove at the edge of the world when the god of traveling stopped running backwards in time, and the world resumed.

Even though the god of travelers didn’t do anything drastic and had even hidden himself by combining with his past, his sudden appearance in this timeline caused a disturbance that made her web vibrate.

The vibration of her web woke her up from her slumber. She looked and did some calculations to determine the source of the disturbance in fate. What she sensed made her relax.

She yawned and said, “It is just the god of travelers. I guess he has reversed time again. He is so busy. Maybe I should become busy and get the authority of disaster now.”

But then she shook her head and said, “There is still the god of luck. I’m not sure if he is dead or not. He is an anomaly that I have to account for before I make a move on the god of disaster. I have a feeling that if I don’t plan for him, it will come back to bite me.”

This made her sigh and say, “I guess there is no rush. Being a high god is still being part of the strongest in the world. No one is about to create a supreme authority yet. So there is no rush about acquiring the authority of disaster. I’ll just wait and acquire more information.”

With this said, she yawned and closed her eyes. She wanted to return to sleep because she didn’t think that it was time to move. But just one hour after she fell asleep, she felt another disturbance in fate.

The disturbance this time is massive. It caused many places in her web to vibrate, not just one place to vibrate. And the vibrations were intense.

There was no way she could sleep with this kind of disturbance. She quickly woke up and began trying to predict the cause of the disturbance in fate.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard she worked, she couldn’t determine the source of the change in fate. This made her become solemn.

She sat up straight in her web and said, “What is going on? Has the source become too strong for me to predict, or do they have an ability that counters my prediction and prevents them from being predicted by me?”

The shift in fate has ended, and the strings of fate have become peaceful now. Combined with the fact that she can’t find the source of the disturbance in fate, one might think that the disturbance in fate was an illusion and that it didn’t really happen.

But she didn’t think that. There was no way she could mistake a disturbance so great as a figment of her imagination. So she came to the conclusion that the creator of the shift in fate had somehow hidden themselves from her.

She didn’t give up, though. Since she couldn’t find the source of the disturbance, she decided to look for fates that had suddenly changed.

This time, she was able to get a result after searching for a while. What she discovered wasn’t good news, though. The changes in fate that she sensed made her even more solemn and serious.

She sensed that the god of nobles was going to die soon. His death wasn’t the only one that she sensed. She also sensed that the god of illusion, the god of death, and the god of disaster were all going to die soon.

This was odd because all of these gods were supposed to live for much longer. They shouldn’t die so soon, and they for sure shouldn’t die in bulk like this without an explanation.

This made her say, “Whoever caused the anomaly is the one who is going to kill them. Or should I say that whoever caused the changes in fate is the anomaly?”

This is the essence of the anomaly in the world that she noticed. It is changes in fate. If another person were the god of fate, they might notice this widespread change in fate because she was able to discover it largely thanks to her personal rank 10 divine ability.

This kind of anomaly is an important anomaly because fate rarely changes. And even if fate changes, there should be a proper explanation for the change, and this explanation should be something present in this world.

In the case of the god of travelers, his presence in the past from the future caused the fate of many people to change. The sudden and unexplained increase in the strength of Legion also caused the fate of many people to change.

So even though she couldn’t sense what had caused the sudden change in fate, she was able to say with confidence that Legion is the one who will kill the people who were not supposed to die so soon.

Now that she had come to this conclusion, it was time for her to decide what to do about the situation. She didn’t do anything when the god of travelers caused a change in fate because this kind of thing had happened many times before and because that change in fate didn’t concern her.

But this second change in fate is new, different from the normal ones, strange, and definitely concerns her. It concerns her because anything that affects the god of disaster concerns her.

“Who is this person anyway? Why would they target and kill so many gods in such a short amount of time? Should I help them or try to stop them?”

After asking herself many questions, she tried to answer them by using her divine abilities to predict the situation. But as usual, she came up empty about the identity of the creator of the anomaly and their purpose.

Her efforts were not in vain, though. One thing that she discovered was that it was definitely a bad idea to antagonize the creator of the anomaly.
