Master Xu didn’t want to live with Ding Xuelan and the others, who knows what kind of sins they have committed? They were suffering and getting injured like this.

Even the house collapsed the second his father-in-law stepped inside the house. If this goes on, no matter what house they chose or picked, it was going to be smashed to bits!

When Gu Mo heard that Master Xu wanted to leave, his expression turned sullen. If this mer along with the rest left him alone with Old Master Ding, he would be the one who had to take care of this old bat.

And given his current condition, Old Master Ding would not leave him alone.

However, Gu Mo dared not to open his mouth. These past few days he was living worse than an ox and cow in the animal shed, his wife used him like a courtesan making him serve her at night and in the morning, he would have to take care of the entire household chores of his wife.

Neither his wife nor his in-laws supported him. Even if he was to say anything at this point, it would only work against him. Not to mention Ding Nan was quite protective of her husbands. If he dared to say anything, Ding Nan would only make things difficult for him.

In the end, Ding Nan agrees with her husband and decides to stay in the servants’ quarters while paying for a small shack where the rest of the Ding family was stuffed.

And the responsibility of taking care of the injured Old Master Ding naturally fell on Gu Mo.

Yu Dong looked at the mer whose face was so black that it was about to drip ink. However, she did not care about it. This was what Gu Mo deserved, after all, though he did not intervene or steal other’s life force, he was the one who tried to make trouble with her husbands.

So what if he was beautiful? What was he trying to do by dancing in front of her husbands and her? Yu Dong was not an idiot, of course, she understood what that mer was doing. However, she gave him a little advantage of the doubt.

Who would have thought this mer would not learn from his actions and cause trouble for her and her husbands again?

He deserved whatever was coming towards him!

As she returned to her home, she met with Ye Liu who was returning from the grounds where the school was being built.

“What happened? I heard from the villagers that the house which was allocated to the Ding family collapsed, is it true?” he questioned as he looked at Yu Dong with a confused expression on his face.

That house was quite sturdy, how could it suddenly fall like that?

Yu Dong sighed and tipped her head to the entrance of the door, “Let’s go in and talk.”

Ye Liu nodded and the two of them entered the house, once the two of them went inside the house, Yu Dong walked to the dining table and sat down on a chair. She reached out and poured herself a cup of water. Once she was done pouring, she drowned three to four cups of water, as she had run around the village quite a lot due to the Ding family.

Once she was done drinking the water, she turned to look at Ye Liu before saying to him, “The house of widower Han did collapse.” As she finished speaking she realised to tell Ye Liu all about the life force and the connections to the accidents that were happening with the Ding family.

Of course, she knew that the rest of her husbands were also listening to her.

“That thing sucked the life force of the humans?” Chen Mi was horrified. He couldn’t believe that such a thing was possible but upon seeing the things that were happening to the Ding family, he had to admit that such things were indeed possible.

“That’s right,” Yu Dong nodded as she placed the cup down and looked at Chen Mi before saying, “This will continue until or unless they somehow manage to recover some of their life force.”

When Yu Dong finished speaking, the entire house turned quiet.

However, a second later Chen Mi burst angrily. “Those beasts! They were actually trying to do the same thing to our family as well, good thing that we were on guard from the start or else they would have killed us all! Pei!”

When Chen Mi thought of how Ding Nuan Nuan and her father were trying to get close to him and Yu Mai, he understood and realised that this was their plan!

If he was not on guard with them, Chen Mi was certain that he would be the first one to die! How dare they!? Such a sinister plan. It was a good thing that his luck was good and he somehow managed to escape if not— those two had already made plans to kill him.

He was not the only one– Ye Liu and the others were just as troubled.

Because Ding Nuan Nuan had tried to get close to them as well. Who would have thought that she was planning such a thing?

It was with sheer luck that they managed to survive.

“Hey everyone!” Xiao Hua walked inside the house with a smile on his face. He was carrying a load of bags in his hands and seemed to have just returned from somewhere.

However, the smile on his lips faltered when he saw that everyone in the Yu house was looking as if they were on the verge of losing their temper.

Xiao Hua blinked his eyes and looked at the mers before saying, “What’s wrong? Are you guys unhappy that I went on a trip without taking any of you? There is no need to get angry, you can come with me the next time around.”

As he spoke he walked inside the house and leaned forward to kiss Yu Dong on the cheek causing the rest of the mers to let out a –tcah!
